Story
(DOB 09/01/2025) Meet Rossi, your future cardio partner, cuddle bug, and resident goofball — all rolled into one VERY good boy. This young guy is all puppy: bouncy, wiggly, playful, and endlessly enthusiastic about life. He’s dog-friendly, people-friendly, and basically convinced everyone he meets is his new best friend. He’s looking for an adopter who’s ready to invest some time, patience, and positive training to help him grow into the best version of himself. In return, he promises laughs, loyalty, and nonstop tail wags. With tons of energy, he’d thrive with another high-energy dog buddy and/or an athletic family who enjoys long walks, hikes, runs, or epic games of fetch. Doggy daycare? Yes please — that sounds like his kind of party. If you’re ready for an active sidekick with a heart of gold and springs for legs, this puppy might just be your perfect match. As part of Rossi’s $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet pup, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Rossi, you can complete an application online for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2633258##

Story
(DOB 09/20/2019) I am dog friendly, kid friendly, friendly to cats and small animals, too. I really want a fenced in yard to run, play and explore. I can do well as a single dog or with friends. My favorite activities are going out for a jog, lounging on the couch, or in my chair. (My chair can come with me to my new home.) If you are into neat features, I'm known for my beautiful light blue eye and the other one is sparkly brown. It's kind of signature. I am house trained and crate trained, so no worries there! If you are looking for a sweet boy with a great personality, I know you will love me! As part of Basil’s $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Basil, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##743382##

Story
(DOB 05/30/2024) Skye, the one-eyed wonder with a heart full of love and a personality that shines! One eye, with two times the amount of character and all the charm & love you could ask for. Skye is a sweet & friendly girl who gets along great with other dogs, but she’d also be perfectly happy as your one and only, soaking up all the cuddles and attention.  Skye loves a big fenced in yard, and we think that would be the best option for her unless her fur-ever had plenty of time to get her energy out daily. She'll do zoomies and then run right back to you for more love and attention. If you have play equipment in the yard, Skye isn't scared of it and will go up stairs, slide down the slide with you, so a family with older kids that would love a furry playmate, she could be a good fit. She'll chase after a ball if she is excited, but isn't really interested (at this time) in bringing it back to you, ha ha. She’s a good girl who keeps her crate tidy and is making steady progress with potty training. Skye walks on a leash well enough — she’s still learning, and she can get a little enthusiastic and underfoot, but that just makes her all the more adorable! She’s a quiet, curious girl who loves exploring new things and discovering the world around her. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion; she is a bit of a velcro dog and will follow you with her eye, follow her favorite person around, and follow you with her whole heart!! She definitely has a wonderful character and a whole lot of heart, sol look no further if LOVE is what you are looking for, Skye might just be your perfect match! As part of Skye’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Skye, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2432004##

Story
This pup is eligible for our Test the Couch program — a 7-day trial adoption to see if your home (and your couch) is the perfect fit. Learn more  https://pipsrescue.org/test-the-couch/ Meet Iris, a sweet, snuggly, and old soul who is ready to retire into her dream home. She’s all about the simple pleasures in life like leisurely walks, expert level naps, and maximum coziness. Iris is affectionate, loyal, and deeply devoted to her person. She lives for attention, couch cuddles, and strategically placing herself at your feet while you work so you never forget she’s there. She is an excellent car ride companion and enjoys getting out for adventures, though she can occasionally put a little extra enthusiasm into the leash. At home, she is a professional snoozer and odds are high you will find her exactly where you left her, usually on the couch. When it comes to other dogs, Iris knows what she likes. She requires slow, thoughtful introductions and prefers older, neutral males or being your one and only. Dominant female dogs need not apply. She can coexist with a younger neutral female with management, but in her heart she prefers calm, middle aged or senior companions. Puppies are tolerated in short doses, but she has officially entered her “get off my lawn” era and has no interest in raising the neighborhood hooligans. Because Iris is a bit older and sometimes likes her personal space respected, a home with kids over 10 is recommended. She is sweet and loving, but sore joints and grabby hands are not her idea of a good time. Iris is firmly anti crate and would like that known. She does just fine left out or in a dog safe room. Her biggest temptations include bathroom trash cans, unattended dirty laundry, and food left on low tables. Counters and dining tables are safe. She will not chew toys, Legos, or stuffed animals. Her true hobbies are napping and quietly supervising household activities. She comes with some endearing quirks. A bag of dog food left on the floor is suspicious and will be guarded. Put that same food in a bin and all is right with the world. At night, Iris sometimes hears very important things, possibly a squirrel sneezing or a leaf thinking too loudly, and feels the need to report it. A box fan or white noise machine helps her sleep peacefully. Iris tolerates baths and nail trims like a champ, though she can be a little sensitive about her ears. She is quirky, loving, loyal, and bonds deeply with her people. Iris is looking for a calm, understanding home that appreciates a seasoned dog with opinions, boundaries, and a whole lot of love to give. If you are searching for a devoted companion who wants nothing more than to nap near you, supervise your life, and be adored in return, Iris might just be your girl. ##2285665##

Story
Meet Petrie – Your New Best Friend in Puppy Form! Petrie is an adorable, speckled-nosed, mixed-breed puppy, and he’s already stealing hearts everywhere he goes. With his gorgeous, shiny black coat and the sweet white marking on his face, he’s as handsome as they come—but it’s his personality that really seals the deal. This little guy is incredibly affectionate and absolutely loves to cuddle. When he’s not snuggled up for a nap, Petrie is busy being a happy, playful puppy—sleeping hard, playing hard, and soaking up all the love. He does wonderfully with other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine buddy in his forever home. For such a young pup, Petrie is already doing excellent with potty training, and he’s food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. He’s just beginning crate training and is off to a great start. One of his most charming traits? Petrie is a little “talker”—he makes the most adorable sounds that will keep you smiling all day long. Petrie is looking for a family ready to continue his puppy training, give him lots of love, and enjoy all the joy that comes with raising a young pup. In return, he promises endless cuddles, laughs, and unconditional love. If you’re ready for a sweet, snuggly, chatty puppy to grow up by your side, Petrie just might be your perfect match.

Story
Sassaba is a sweet boy who is extremely intelligent and loves to take in everything around him. Amongst any group of people or dogs, you’ll often find him sitting down and watching everyone play before he decides to join in and investigate. He is a gentle boy who loves his ears and head rubbed. Sassaba has almost mastered “sit” and understands that “come on” means it’s time to head outside. He’s still working on perfecting his potty training and is comfortable being crated for 2-3 hour periods during the day and overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. He may bark at the initial sight of other dogs or cats but generally behaves well around them. Extremely food motivated and wonderfully patient, Sassaba waits politely for snacks, leashes, and cues. While he picks and chooses when he wants to curl up in your lap, he truly enjoys being held and close to his people. *Sleepover feedback: "He is an amazing puppy..loves to play w my other puppy. And fits in like he lived here. Great during food and play. And loved running on farm and playing in snow. Wanted to sleep w other pup so he does, as they love each other, and play. His personality is amazing and so bright! He's well potty trained..no accidents and listens very well and learning sit and does sit when asked".

Story
Shari is a 35 pound pit/terrier mix (who could use a few more pounds) with a truly eye-catching look. Her unique brindle coat is beautifully accented by a white speckled head, white paws, and a white-tipped tail she’s a standout wherever she goes and is guaranteed to turn heads. Shari is still settling into life at Saving Grace, so she may be a bit quiet at first. Once she’s outside, though, her happy, carefree personality shines. She loves playing with her doggo friends, and her tail never stops wagging when she’s having fun. When playtime is over, Shari is happy to relax. She rests quietly in her crate, especially if there’s a cozy bed where she can curl up and recharge. Shari will thrive in a forever home with a family who can offer the perfect balance of adventure and cuddle time. If you’re looking for a playful companion with a sweet, gentle side, Shari may be your perfect match. *Sleepover feedback: "We really want adopters to know that Shari is the total package! She is extremely loving and gentle with a playful side. She doesn’t require much training but is willing to learn anything her new family wants her to know! She stole our hearts and is a special little lady"! *Additional feedback: " From the start, she showed herself to be a well-mannered and very sweet companion. Shari is fully housebroken and did excellent on a consistent schedule for potty breaks, walks, and meals. On one occasion, she even let me know she needed to go outside by walking to the door and pacing until she had my attention—such a smart girl .

Story
Big Ben is a 3 year old ~75 pound mix, suspected Malinois, Great Dane, Lab and Pit mix (DNA test pending!). He is the coolest color with a dark ridge down his back, and is extremely soft. He is easy to train, very obedient, and extremely fun! Couch potatoes need not apply, as Ben wants to do things (with or without you) but preferably with you (though cuddling on the couch is awesome after doing other stuff together). Ben has started scent work training, has professional obedience training, and will excel at any job he is given the chance to try! He is good with other dogs when managed by an educated owner, but has had dog aggression issues in the past. He currently lives easily with 5+ other dogs and is very gentle when playing with his friends, but sometimes is unsure how to handle new friends and takes guidance well. He is still being introduced to cats, but can likely coexist with them just fine as his prey drive is medium - low. He desperately wants to be a good boy, he just often needs reminded what a good boy needs to be doing (or not doing)
