Story
(DOB 09/01/2025) Meet Rossi, your future cardio partner, cuddle bug, and resident goofball — all rolled into one VERY good boy. This young guy is all puppy: bouncy, wiggly, playful, and endlessly enthusiastic about life. He’s dog-friendly, people-friendly, and basically convinced everyone he meets is his new best friend. He’s looking for an adopter who’s ready to invest some time, patience, and positive training to help him grow into the best version of himself. In return, he promises laughs, loyalty, and nonstop tail wags. With tons of energy, he’d thrive with another high-energy dog buddy and/or an athletic family who enjoys long walks, hikes, runs, or epic games of fetch. Doggy daycare? Yes please — that sounds like his kind of party. If you’re ready for an active sidekick with a heart of gold and springs for legs, this puppy might just be your perfect match. As part of Rossi’s $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet pup, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Rossi, you can complete an application online for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2633258##

Story
(DOB 09/20/2019) Basil is heartworm positive. Do not let this from stopping you from adopting him, our rescue will cover the expenses for when it is time. And don't worry, our rescue will guide you through the process. He is available for adoption within a 1-hour radius of Wake Forest, NC so he can receive his treatment. I am dog friendly, kid friendly, friendly to cats and small animals, too. I really want a fenced in yard to run, play and explore. I can do well as a single dog or with friends. My favorite activities are going out for a jog, lounging on the couch, or in my chair. (My chair can come with me to my new home.) If you are into neat features, I'm known for my beautiful light blue eye and the other one is sparkly brown. It's kind of signature. I am house trained and crate trained, so no worries there! If you are looking for a sweet boy with a great personality, I know you will love me! As part of Basil’s $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Basil, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##743382##

Story
(DOB 05/30/2024) Skye, the one-eyed wonder with a heart full of love and a personality that shines! One eye, with two times the amount of character and all the charm & love you could ask for. Skye is a sweet & friendly girl who gets along great with other dogs, but she’d also be perfectly happy as your one and only, soaking up all the cuddles and attention.  Skye loves a big fenced in yard, and we think that would be the best option for her unless her fur-ever had plenty of time to get her energy out daily. She'll do zoomies and then run right back to you for more love and attention. If you have play equipment in the yard, Skye isn't scared of it and will go up stairs, slide down the slide with you, so a family with older kids that would love a furry playmate, she could be a good fit. She'll chase after a ball if she is excited, but isn't really interested (at this time) in bringing it back to you, ha ha. She’s a good girl who keeps her crate tidy and is making steady progress with potty training. Skye walks on a leash well enough — she’s still learning, and she can get a little enthusiastic and underfoot, but that just makes her all the more adorable! She’s a quiet, curious girl who loves exploring new things and discovering the world around her. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion; she is a bit of a velcro dog and will follow you with her eye, follow her favorite person around, and follow you with her whole heart!! She definitely has a wonderful character and a whole lot of heart, sol look no further if LOVE is what you are looking for, Skye might just be your perfect match! As part of Skye’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Skye, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2432004##

This pup is eligible for our Test the Couch program — a 7-day trial adoption to see if your home (and your couch) is the perfect fit. Learn more  https://pipsrescue.org/test-the-couch/ Meet Iris, a sweet, snuggly, and old soul who is ready to retire into her dream home. She’s all about the simple pleasures in life like leisurely walks, expert level naps, and maximum coziness. Iris is affectionate, loyal, and deeply devoted to her person. She lives for attention, couch cuddles, and strategically placing herself at your feet while you work so you never forget she’s there. She is an excellent car ride companion and enjoys getting out for adventures, though she can occasionally put a little extra enthusiasm into the leash. At home, she is a professional snoozer and odds are high you will find her exactly where you left her, usually on the couch. When it comes to other dogs, Iris knows what she likes. She requires slow, thoughtful introductions and prefers older, neutral males or being your one and only. Dominant female dogs need not apply. She can coexist with a younger neutral female with management, but in her heart she prefers calm, middle aged or senior companions. Puppies are tolerated in short doses, but she has officially entered her “get off my lawn” era and has no interest in raising the neighborhood hooligans. Because Iris is a bit older and sometimes likes her personal space respected, a home with kids over 10 is recommended. She is sweet and loving, but sore joints and grabby hands are not her idea of a good time. Iris is firmly anti crate and would like that known. She does just fine left out or in a dog safe room. Her biggest temptations include bathroom trash cans, unattended dirty laundry, and food left on low tables. Counters and dining tables are safe. She will not chew toys, Legos, or stuffed animals. Her true hobbies are napping and quietly supervising household activities. She comes with some endearing quirks. A bag of dog food left on the floor is suspicious and will be guarded. Put that same food in a bin and all is right with the world. At night, Iris sometimes hears very important things, possibly a squirrel sneezing or a leaf thinking too loudly, and feels the need to report it. A box fan or white noise machine helps her sleep peacefully. Iris tolerates baths and nail trims like a champ, though she can be a little sensitive about her ears. She is quirky, loving, loyal, and bonds deeply with her people. Iris is looking for a calm, understanding home that appreciates a seasoned dog with opinions, boundaries, and a whole lot of love to give. If you are searching for a devoted companion who wants nothing more than to nap near you, supervise your life, and be adored in return, Iris might just be your girl. ##2285665##

Story
Meet Zion!Zion is a medium-sized, energetic Boxer/Staffy mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for life. He's playful, confident, and independent, with a fun-loving spirit that keeps things exciting around the house.Zion is both house-trained and crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and already knows several commands including sit, paw, down, and gentle. He's currently working on wait/stay and is eager to keep learning with a committed family. Like many young dogs, Zion is still polishing his manners and can be jumpy or mouthy when meeting new people, so a home without small children is best for him. Zion currently lives with elderly cats in his foster home and he tends to leave them alone. Slow introductions are always recommended when introducing to animals and humans. One of Zion's favorite things is tug-of-war, and he absolutely loves playing with his foster brother, Avery. He would thrive in a home with another playful, energetic dog who can match his enthusiasm. A home with a backyard-ideally fenced-is a must, as Zion loves to run, play, and burn off his energy.Zion's ideal family is active, patient, and committed to continuing his training, understanding that puppy tendencies don't disappear overnight. In return, they'll get a loyal, fun, and adventurous companion who's ready to go places and grow alongside them.If you're looking for a spirited, affectionate dog who's ready for his next chapter, Zion might just be your perfect match 🐶✨To get more information about Zion, please send an email to his foster family to wcacfosterfam24@gmail.com with the subject "Interest in Zion 264064" Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 43.5 Age: 1yrs 11mths 0wks

Story
You may feel the energy as soon as you get a chance to meet Nitro! This young adult pittie mix weighs about 50 lbs and could stand to add a few more to his frame—but he carries himself like the hunky, strong, handsome athlete he is. With his striking black-and-white markings, he may give off a little “mini cow” vibe at first glance, but trust us… you won’t be mixing him up with anyone in the pasture! Nitro will do best with an active home where he can get lots of exercise and the option to explore the outdoors. He absolutely shines on our weekend hikes, getting along with the other dogs. He will be a great student in training as he’s smart and eager—making him a great candidate for someone willing to invest a little time in helping him become his very best self. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick with good looks, and plenty of zest for life, Nitro is ready to go the distance with you!

Story
Poppy is an energetic little girl with a big zest for life. She’s already learning some great house manners—she’s quiet in her crate and sleeps through the night without any issues. Like many puppies, Poppy is still working on her potty training and leash skills, but she’s eager and making progress. Poppy loves spending time playing in the yard with other dogs and kids, where her happy, playful personality really shines. She’s not a fan of long walks just yet, preferring shorter adventures and plenty of playtime instead. After a full day of fun, Poppy is more than ready to snuggle up close and enjoy a cozy nap by your side. She has also met a few cats and doesn’t seem bothered by them. Poppy is ready to start her next chapter with her furever family! Make an appointment to meet her!

Story
Big Ben is a 3 year old ~75 pound mix, suspected Malinois, Great Dane, Lab and Pit mix (DNA test pending!). He is the coolest color with a dark ridge down his back, and is extremely soft. He is easy to train, very obedient, and extremely fun! Couch potatoes need not apply, as Ben wants to do things (with or without you) but preferably with you (though cuddling on the couch is awesome after doing other stuff together). Ben has started scent work training, has professional obedience training, and will excel at any job he is given the chance to try! He is good with other dogs when managed by an educated owner, but has had dog aggression issues in the past. He currently lives easily with 5+ other dogs and is very gentle when playing with his friends, but sometimes is unsure how to handle new friends and takes guidance well. He is still being introduced to cats, but can likely coexist with them just fine as his prey drive is medium - low. He desperately wants to be a good boy, he just often needs reminded what a good boy needs to be doing (or not doing)
