Story
You won’t need to pull out your high school literature books to fall in love with our lovely, Juliet like boxer mix, Capulet. She doesn’t need long wavy hair to garnish affection; her wiggly butt and short wagging nub tail is all she needs to make you fall in love! A sturdy 62 lb young adult, Capulet is curious, always wants to be in the middle of the action and loves a good lean in for affection from our volunteers. This young lady appears to have suffered an injury at some time to the top of her head but isn't slowed to dimmed at all by that both in abilities and spirit. She’s found several dog friends at Saving Grace in her play groups and while she loves the outdoors, she’s particularly fond of a warm bed in cooler temperatures. She walks well on a leash and will be a great walking partner and keep you on your toes! Sleepover feedback: " She sleeps through the night and is cuddly. She's gentle taking treats and does ok on the leash. She likes all the people and never barked once". Weekend Host Feedback: “We had a great weekend with Capulet! No cats introduced, the neighbors dog barked and a few other's and she didn't bark back. interested in passing dogs but not reactive at all. Not bothered by squirrels either! She's ok on the harness leash but needs more practice. She's a quick learner! Capulet would sit for treats on the 2nd day and took them very gently. Not a huge fan of car rides but once in she rides fine and very well behaved. She did not want to go in the crate but just throw a treat and she goes in no problem, slept well at night. Was house trained no accidents at all. She'd cry in morning to alert us about 6.30am - 7am to go out for her pee. She's food motivated which helps with training. Think she would do well with folks that enjoys trail walks and running as she ran alongside us well. Her snoring is very loud and very funny / cute. She's such a gentle soul that we feel very lucky to have met her! If we didn’t travel so much for work would have loved her to stay longer and we pray she finds a kind owner soon.”

Story
(DOB 09/20/2019) I am dog friendly, kid friendly, friendly to cats and small animals, too. I really want a fenced in yard to run, play and explore. I can do well as a single dog, or with friends. My favorite activities are going out for a jog, lounging on the couch, or in my chair. (My chair can come with me to my new home.) If you are into neat features, known for my beautiful light blue eye and the other one is sparkly brown. It's kind of signature. I am house trained and crate trained, so no worries there! If you are looking for a sweet boy with a great personality, I know you will love me! As part of Basil’s $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Basil, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##743382##

Good with kids, Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
(DOB 9/4/2022) He’s the perfect combination of playful and chill. After a good walk or a day out and about, he’s ready to be with his people. He loves just to be near those he loves, leaning into your legs when sitting on the floor. Patch will return your affection many-fold with lots of kisses and love. We might consider Patch "a ladies man" as he does have an affinity and spontaneous attraction to the woman he meets. Plus, with his beautiful brindle coat that just gleams in the sun that goes so well with his big brown eyes and happy face the ladies all fall in love with him as well! If going for a peaceful walk and then relaxing at home is your idea of a great way to spend your day, Patch is your pup. Patch walks well on a leash and is learning to heel. Want to go to a park or anywhere for that matter...Patch will happily hop in the car, always ready to go with his people. Well, whatever your lifestyle is, Patch is likely to adapt quickly. If you have a certian schedule and routine, that is cool with Patch, this easy-going, happy boy will gel easily roll with it. Another BONUS about Patch; he is great with people and always happy to meet someone new. He is quiet and stays calm even when dogs around him get excited. He well behaved with other dogs and children but likely needs dogs and kids more his own size just so he doesn't knock them down in the excitement of playing. That said, Patch adores younger children and will cover them in kisses. He is also very gentle when taking treats from the little ones. Please no kitties, just not his thing! Patch has been thru a basic obedience course and is great at learning new commands. You want to know how smart Patch is? Do you have kid toys as well as dog toys? Put Patch's in a different basket and show him which are his and he will amaze you by playing with only his toys. Some toys are only for outside? He will pick one up on the way out the door. He is very food driven and responds well to positive reward training. Tasty treats are a great motivator for Patch. Want to keep building his "vocabulary"; he'd be happy to be your student! He is always happy to get praise and and love pats for doing a job well done! Like a diamond he is sparkles in the sun, he is eager to please and learn what you want him to do. Give him love (and treats!) and you will be greatly rewarded. As part of Patch’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Patch, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2364966##

Story
(DOB 05/30/2024) Skye, the one-eyed wonder with a heart full of love and a personality that shines! One eye, with two times the amount of character and all the charm & love you could ask for. Skye is a sweet & friendly girl who gets along great with other dogs, but she’d also be perfectly happy as your one and only, soaking up all the cuddles and attention.  Skye loves a big fenced in yard, and we think that would be the best option for her unless her fur-ever had plenty of time to get her energy out daily. She'll do zoomies and then run right back to you for more love and attention. If you have play equipment in the yard, Skye isn't scared of it and will go up stairs, slide down the slide with you, so a family with older kids that would love a furry playmate, she could be a good fit. She'll chase after a ball if she is excited, but isn't really interested (at this time) in bringing it back to you, ha ha. She’s a good girl who keeps her crate tidy and is making steady progress with potty training. Skye walks on a leash well enough — she’s still learning, and she can get a little enthusiastic and underfoot, but that just makes her all the more adorable! She’s a quiet, curious girl who loves exploring new things and discovering the world around her. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion; she is a bit of a velcro dog and will follow you with her eye, follow her favorite person around, and follow you with her whole heart!! She definitely has a wonderful character and a whole lot of heart, sol look no further if LOVE is what you are looking for, Skye might just be your perfect match! As part of Skye’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Skye, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2432004##

Story
Darling Dough! Meet Dough, a sweet, smart, and beautiful puppy with a heart as big as she is! I may be the biggest girl in my litter, but I'm a gentle giant who doesn't dominate my siblings—I just love to play! I am an active and loving companion who is wonderful with everyone! I get along great with cats, other dogs, and children, and my greatest joy is simply being with my people—I love to be with you! I'm also a perfect traveler and ride well in the car. I'm a quick learner and I use the dog door to go outside for my business most of the time! I enjoy a good, playful wrestling session with my littermates and my curiosity often leads me to investigate your hair and face. I'm a playful girl who adores toys! Give me a bone to chew or any balls and squeaky toys, and I'll be entertained. And since I am very food motivated, I'm getting the hang of sitting for a treat super fast! After play, my favorite reward is a thorough belly rub! I should mention that I can be a little shy when I'm in new situations or meeting new people and dogs. I take a moment to observe and warm up, but once I feel safe, my really sweet girl personality shines through! My beautiful face is just waiting to look up at you with love. Dough is a sweet, gentle, and clever pup ready to knead her way right into your heart! *Sleepover feedback: " Dough is a lovey-dovey, confident little girl. She responds excitedly to being called a good girl, and loves to fall asleep in your lap. Dough also enjoyed playing with my 50lb dog and initiated the play more times than not. She’s a smart girl and a quick learner".
