He was rescued from the Long Beach shelter and came to us super shy and closed off. Tai’s forever home will need to have another outgoing dog, to show him how to be a dog, and a human who has a lot of love and patience to help bring out his personality full time. He is a very playful dog once he gets to know you and would do best in a low-traffic home. Having another dog is a must for Tai. Story
Violet was rescued from the streets of Tijuana when she was two-months old. I adopted her when she was 5 months old. I met her in San Diego and she's been with me now in Riverside for two years. She shows much less of the effects - really just timidity - of her experience on the streets of Tijuana and she's been able to socialize well with other dogs and people for some time now. My personal impression is she's a gentle spirited dog and affectionate with those she knows and trusts. I believe she's well adjusted in the environment she knows. She's probably best as a single pet. I also think she would be a great fit for an active (walks mostly - but she could be a running partner), somewhat experienced pet owner. She could also fit in a household of a family with older children. She knows vocal and hand commands. Sit, Stay, Wait, Leave it, Come, Follow, Paw. Looking for a place where she can run and be the active dog she is.

Story
Sweet, playful Angel is a very special baby! She is not the brightest puppy but her personality shines! She had a traumatic pre-natal brain injury, which causes her to be a little slow and fearful of stranger, but she just wants to be loved and pampered once she knows you. She is looking for an adopter OR local foster. See her in action: https://youtu.be/pzkg5YSiTaQ

Story
Arya is an 8 year old Basenji/Jack Russel mix who loves cuddles and attention. She would do best in a home with no other pets (cats or dogs) and no small children and with someone who either works from home or is home alot! She struggles with separation anxiety which leads to accidents, chewing things and being angry. My husband and I try our best to give her all of the love and attention that she deserves and loves so much but now that we have a 2 year old toddler and we both work full time job outside of the home, we are not able to give her what she really needs. Someone who is versed in dog training could be very beneficial. She is up to date on all shots and spayed. She would be the perfect fit for.a family that is home often and able to giver her the correct training, love and attention that she desires!

He came from a shelter they believed had been hit by a car he had a broken pelvis and injured leg, but we are fairly sure he was beaten. He was terrified of anything like a broom and pees and poops himself.  He's getting better every day. He needs a quiet home, cats are okay, but no male dogs. He can be a sweet boy but wants to trust but we can see it in his eyes as he sizes up every situation. He loves playing with the female dogs in his foster home and can spend hours outside just running and playing.  He weighs about 9 pounds, is microchipped and has been fully vaccinated. Neuter to be announced still recovering from a broken pelvis and injured leg. Please consider adopting a senior dog. They are passed over routinely in shelters and Chihuahua senior dogs who are black are then the number 2 breed most euthanized in shelters. Adopt don't shop! ##1371753##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Zorro is such a sweet boy!! Unfortunately his owner had to surrender him to TLC K9 Rescue because he got very sick and just couldn't take care of him anymore. Zorro is a sweet pure breed 1 ½ yr old Basenji who is super playful, loving, affectionate, and gives lots of kisses too. But as most Basenji's he can be high-spirited, curious, charming and loves to clown around. At times he can also be aloof, independent and self-contained by relaxing with a yummy bully stick. He typically doesn't like being left alone for long periods of time, so if you work at home he'll be right at your feet or laying in his kennel. Zorro adores people, older considerate children and likes to play with other friendly dogs. He is crate, potty and leash trained. He's a smart boy who has learned several commands immediately. He loves his walks, but he must be kept on leash at all times!!! We are looking for an active and experienced family with the breed and if you have another young dog for Zorro to play with then that would definitely be a plus. If you live in the San Diego County have a home with a yard and a 6-foot fence and would like to adopt Zorro please complete our adoption application at tlck9rescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 7, 2024, 7:38 pm

Story
Ooo ooh! Pick me! Pick me! My name is Maddy and I was dumped at at high kill shelter. I was super sick (antibiotics cleared me right up!) and I was all skin and bones. Angels at AWFA rescued me in the nick of time and I am ready to find my forever family! I am such a good girl - A loving, beautiful, sweet blonde bombshell who loves everyone I meet.  I'm good with some other dogs but would love to be an only dog to get all of the attention.  I like kids but would probably do best in an adult home.  I am house trained! I'm a quiet girl but will alert you if needed. I am looking for my furever family to snuggle and cuddle and love. Is that you?! ***************************************************************    Interested in adopting this pet? Please contact us at questions@awishforanimals.org for more info.May 7, 2024, 1:12 pm

Story
Meet Rocky! He’s a sweet 8.5 year old Korean Jindo mix who loves attention. He loves to cuddle and be with his people. He’s smart and food motivated to learn new things. His current foster puts him a sit/stay while he places his food down and then releases him to eat, which he does very well. He’s also potty trained. When you talk to him he'll give you this funny look like he’s trying to understand. He is ok around other dogs, until he gets impatient with them. This is very common for Jindos. He would do best in a house without other animals. His healthy recently took a turn and he can only use his back legs 5% of the time. He has seen a primary Vet, a Chiro, an internist and an Neuro and they’re not sure of the cause. He is still very cognitive and fully aware of everything around him, his back legs just do not want to cooperate. He has a wheel chair which he is learning to use. He’s hoping his forever home is out there to help him navigate his remaining years. He can’t wait to find his forever home.   Meet Rocky!
