Story
Sonny and Cher were found running the streets in South LA, weaving in and out of traffic and circling the blocks scavenging and desperate for food.  He had on a collar so our director watched them for a good 30-40 minutes, hoping they would run home... They suddenly ended up on the steps to the 77th Police Station where they found some old pizza in a planter.  They then proceeded to patrol access and people were too afraid to approach the entrance to the Police station with them guarding the steps, and no one came out or stopped to help, so with only 2 cans of cat food and 1/2 a sandwich from lunch our director decided to see if they would be friends or foes.  Immediately Cher ran up and said hello -- it took about 20 minutes but she was able to get her to jump in the car... Sonny was a whole other story ... it took about 2 hours to catch him, but eventually, the car-trap worked and the duo, as if finally sensing they were safe, curled up into each other for a long rest.  Neither dog was chipped, Cher was in heat, and Sonny was her devoted bodyguard ... we don't know if/when/how they came together -- but once they were both fixed the bond was broken.  He is SUCH a little love -- he does have a bit of separation anxiety now -- but that's likely because he finally feels safe.  He is gentle and sweet and seems to have been potty trained but had clearly never been on a leash and it didn't seem like he was touched very much -- now he LOVES it! And he's getting used to the leash and is a champ in a crate - such a fast learner and a very good boy. We have been looking for their people but no one has come forward and it's time they found homes and someone of their own who can really love and care for them.   Whoever you are -- you're about to have a very BEST FREIND(s) for life!    Please apply HERE: https://forms.gle/67CmuBhiQMf1hYov9March 24, 2025, 4:03 pm

Story
Meet Penny, a 6-year-old Basenji mix with a heart full of love and a spirited personality. Originally from Mexico, Penny made her way to California in December 2020 and was quickly adopted. However, she was returned when her previous family found out they were expecting a baby, and Penny wasn’t comfortable around the little one. Penny is a sweet and loving dog who thrives in the right environment. She’s fully house trained, never has accidents inside, and is a joy to have around. Penny enjoys long walks and playing with her toys, but she also loves relaxing and taking naps next to her favorite people. While Penny is not good with other dogs, cats, or kids, she is an ideal companion in a home where she can be the sole focus of attention. She’s working on her reactivity to other dogs on walks, so a patient family willing to help her through her anxiety would be the perfect fit. If you’re looking for a loyal and affectionate dog who will shower you with love and appreciate a calm, dog-free home, Penny is ready to become a cherished member of your family.

Story
MEET LEO! What a great name for a dog, especially with the world's new Pope! Our Leo is a fun-loving and gentle 3-year-old Basenji-Chihuahua mix in need of a forever home. He's currently in a foster home in Edmonds! He weighs about 20-25 lbs. Leo was originally rescued from a crowded California shelter, and quickly adjusted to a better life! He loves to go for walks and he loves to eat, so will get excited at dinnertime! Leo also has a prey drive, so would probably do best in a home without cats. And he's actually afraid of kids, so would do best in an adult-only home. Please email for an application.

Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to LAX💟 Meet Hyunmi💕 (It means brown rice in Korean) 💙 Update Account: @adogs_hyunme 1⃣ Health Status • Neutered: Yes • Others:  • Microchipped  • Heartworm negative 2⃣ Rescue Story Hyunmi was rescued from the Gimje shelter where he had been staying with his sibling #ADogsGiri. Since they were still very young and the shelter environment posed a high risk of infectious disease, they were both rescued before spending their entire puppyhood there. 3⃣ Personality & Behavior • With People: Hyunmi likes people but is a bit shy around strangers at first. He may bark when approached, but calms down when corrected. With familiar people, he loves to follow them around and cuddle—he wags his tail, relaxes in their lap, and even shows his belly for pets! • With Dogs: He’s timid around unfamiliar dogs, but he plays joyfully and wrestles with familiar ones, especially his current foster sibling. He’s been showing increasing dependence on his foster sibling, so it’s being closely monitored. • With Cats: Shows little to no interest, even when encountering them directly. • Separation Anxiety: He does well alone and also enjoys playing when accompanied by other dogs. If left with an unfamiliar person, he may be shy but warms up with treats and relaxes. • Potty Training: Mostly prefers outdoor potty. When indoors, he tends to use the bathroom area over pee pads. • Grooming & Handling: He tries to run away before baths but stays still once it begins. He vocalizes during nail trimming to express discomfort, but it’s manageable. • Walking & Leash Training: He avoids being leashed at first, but once the leash is on, he walks just fine. If someone other than his foster tries to leash him, he gets scared. When startled by cars or motorcycles during walks, he freezes and needs to be carried to a calmer area before resuming. • Car Rides: Has done well on short trips and usually rests calmly. 4⃣ Special Notes • Knows “Sit,” “Lie down,” “Wait,” and “Turn”! • He’s sensitive and can yelp when startled or when rough play gets overwhelming. Loud, sudden sounds tend to scare him. • He’s more comfortable eating when others aren’t around—currently fed separately to help him feel secure.

Story
**He is currently in Seattle** Mukgoo is about 5 years old. He was found near an army base in Korea and immigrated to America around the age of 1 on President’s Day of 2020. He is an incredibly smart and lovable dog. He is kind and loves people (loves dogs and people). He will eat almost anything (except veggies). He can be a jumper when he gets very excited. He prefers households with another dog and a big yard to run around in but it’s not a non-negotiable. He has always adjusted well to whatever the circumstance. Overall, he’s a good dog and he’s got a lot of love to give. I’m having to give him up due to being unable to raise him in my current life stage. In no way, this is due to any bad behaviors or anything. He’s a really kind-hearted and sweet dog. Likes - He loves playing fetch (quickest way to his heart), rolling in the grass, puppycinos, ice cream, snow, people, dogs - Historically has liked lamb, fish skin, salmon, bully sticks, dental sticks, sweet potato, etc. In general, he loves to eat~ - Very social and prefers to greet other dogs and people, including dog parks, doggy day cares Dislikes - He dislikes bath but who does - He doesn’t like being alone but can manage a few hours if needed - No longer is a fan of veggies - Fireworks and big noises Things to Watch out for - Throwing up: If you let him freely eat grass, he’ll throw up. When he feels stressed, he can react by throwing up. - He can be independent when he is fixated on things. Just be patient with him and he will come back to focus on you. He is a people pleaser. - He rarely barks. He may bark when other dogs bark but even that is rare. He is more of a whiner. If he needs to let you know something, he will whine. - Not a counter surfer but can be if you let him Commands He knows his basic commands (sit, down, hand, etc.) and is open to learning new ones as well. Potty He is used to peeing and pooing outside. Once you create a regular spot and time for him, it’s clockwork. Otherwise, just be aware when he whines that it may be time to go. - At a high level, he knows “go potty” and “go poo” as a sign to go to the bathroom - He will rarely go pee or poo inside the home. Once in a million tries, a thing like that can happen during the night but he’s really sorry when he does. Leash He has never been fully off-leash, only in areas that condone it (home, backyard, dog park, etc.). He is not one to go off-leash and run away. He’ll run around and try to have you play with him. Keep him on a short leash if you need to focus on walking as he can veer away due to his interest in sniffing. Once on a short leash, he’ll understand and walk along. However, give him time to sniff as he is very curious with smells. Sleep He can sleep together or on his own if you’re in a different room or floor. He is also loves to cuddle up as well. When there’s fireworks, it’s recommended you sleep where he sees you because he’s afraid of the loud sounds. Food He is on one meal a day. If you give him two meals a day, he may not eat the first meal. Snacks though he loves. He knows how to sit and wait for food. He is currently on Costco’s salmon and sweet potato meal. * With People: Is a sociable dog who likes people so much. Loves greeting and being petted so much, wagging his tail. * With Dogs: Gets along very well with any dog. Has good social skills with dogs, so he becomes popular when playing with canine friends at the dog park. * Separation Anxiety: Sometimes barks along only when other dogs bark, but the exact details are not known yet. May need training to adapt again when the environment changes. * Potty Training: Prefers pottying outdoors rather than indoors. * Hygiene: Is a little afraid of water. Accepts baths nicely when being handled carefully. * Walks: Is an excellent walker and matches his pace with his handler. Loves going for walks and enjoys smelling while walking. 💌Special Notes💌 * Is so smart that he has mastered "sit down," "wait," and "paw." * Has a bright personality and runs when he's excited and expresses a lot of affection. * Is a bit scared of sudden loud noises.
