Story
Meet Murphy Short Pants! Or just Murphy to his friends. Murphy was brought into a rural Louisiana shelter as a teeny little baby (don't miss his ADORABLE puppy pic in his photo album) with his mom and brother back in November 2025. His brother and mom were adopted from the shelter, but Murphy still waited. He moved to foster care in March 2026 and is now looking for his forever home up North! As of April 1st, Murphy is 8 months old and 29 lbs. His mom weighed 30 lbs and we have no idea who or how big dad was, but we don't think Murphy is going to be a huge boy. He is definitely a low-rider and has the cutest short little legs. Since being in foster, Murphy has been soaking up all the love—and giving it right back. He walks nicely on leash and is learning about potty training and crate training. This sweet boy loves to be petted, plays a great game of fetch, and already knows how to sit and respond to his name. He’s happiest with another playful dog to wrestle, chase, and curl up with for naps. And when he’s sleepy, he loves to sneak in some lap time too. He is happy to meet "strangers" and go on adventures, especially when he has other dog friends around. Murphy is a happy and social boy. Murphy would thrive in a home with another dog and a family ready to continue his puppy training. Murphy is fostered with a cat and is very respectful of her and gives her a wide berth so he would be ok in a home with cats too. This sweet boy deserves all the love! If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and slightly goofy best friend… Murphy might be your guy. Murphy's album with more photos + video clips: https://photos.app.goo.gl/MSJjLGiz2gHgQanJ6. You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser. Murphy is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative and current on heartworm/flea/tick prevention and deworming. Murphy is currently in foster care in North Louisiana, but we welcome out of state adoptions. We have an amazing transport that delivers all along the East Coast... PA, NJ, CT, NY, VT. PAWS of NE LA was formed back in 2003, and we have been sending our special Southern dogs to wonderful homes up North since 2010.

Story
14 wk old puppy that's ready for a loving home of her own. She loves other dogs, is just overall a total doll. While she is a gentle little soul, she really loves her toys and playing with other dogs. She is smart and fun and will make a welcome addition to his new home! This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
