Meet Sashia Sorbet, an adorable 4-month-old Basset Hound mix with a sweet personality, a gentle nature, and possibly the floppiest, softest ears you’ll ever have the pleasure of petting. Those ears are impossible to ignore. They flop alongside her little face as she explores, plays, and goes about her very important puppy business, and they somehow make an already adorable puppy even more irresistible. Sashia is enjoying all the things a puppy her age should: playing, discovering new things, chewing on her favorite toys, collecting treats whenever possible, and taking plenty of naps in between. She especially enjoys her chew toys and is more than happy to settle in and keep herself occupied with one. She also has a wonderfully gentle side. Sashia isn’t a mouthy puppy and takes treats nicely, which makes interacting with her especially sweet. She still has all the fun and curiosity you expect from a four-month-old puppy, but she approaches people with a softer touch. Sashia could fit beautifully into many different types of families. She would likely enjoy sharing her home with other friendly dogs and could make a wonderful companion for children. Growing up with canine friends would give her built-in playmates, nap buddies, and a few experienced dogs to help teach her the ropes as she continues figuring out the world. Cats are still a bit of a mystery. Sashia has met them, but at four months old she hasn’t quite decided what role these strange little creatures are supposed to play in her life. Friend? Foe? Meet Melanie, an adorable 4-month-old Basset Hound mix with the sweetest personality, an irresistible pair of long floppy ears, and some very important puppy priorities: play a little, cuddle a lot, and never miss a good nap. Those ears are definitely part of Melanie’s charm. They frame her sweet little face perfectly and somehow make everything she does even cuter. Whether she is wandering around investigating something new, playing with a toy, or settling down for another very important puppy nap, those long Basset-style ears seem to follow right along with her. Melanie is still very much a baby, and right now naps are serious business. After some playtime or exploring, she is perfectly happy curling up for a snooze — especially if one of her siblings is available to cuddle with. Watching Melanie snuggle into a puppy pile with those floppy ears stretched out beside her makes for some ridiculously cute photo opportunities. When Melanie is awake and ready for fun, she enjoys playing with dog toys and spending time with her siblings. She has a gentle play style and isn’t a mouthy puppy, which makes her especially pleasant to interact with. She would likely enjoy having children to play with and could also be a wonderful addition to a home with other friendly dogs. Melanie loves being near her foster and will happily follow them around to see what everyone is doing. She may need a little time to observe and decide that everything is okay before fully relaxing. Meet Ollie, an adorable 4-month-old Basset Hound mix with a shiny black coat, big droopy brown eyes, and a sweet, affectionate personality that will completely melt you once he decides you’re his person. Ollie can be a little cautious when meeting someone new. When I first met him, it took a few treats and a little patience to convince him that I was someone he could trust. But once Ollie realized I was safe, everything changed. Suddenly, every time I sat down, he wanted to be right in my lap. Apparently earning Ollie’s trust also means surrendering all future rights to your personal space. And honestly, good luck saying no to that face. With those big, droopy Basset Hound eyes, Ollie is well on his way to becoming the king of the side-eye. He has the kind of expressive face that can make it look like he has very strong opinions about whatever you’re doing, and somehow that makes him even more lovable. Ollie is an incredibly sweet and affectionate puppy. Once he feels comfortable, he loves being close to his people and soaking up attention. He may not realize exactly how much puppy he is putting into your lap, but as far as Ollie is concerned, if he fits, he sits. When he isn’t cuddling, Ollie enjoys playing with toys and spending time with his siblings. He has a gentle play style and isn’t a mouthy puppy. Sometimes he doesn’t quite realize his own size, which can lead to some wonderfully goofy puppy moments, but his approach to play is sweet rather than rough. Because of his gentle nature, he could be a great companion for children and other friendly dogs. Treats are another very important part of Ollie’s world. They helped win his trust in the beginning, and he certainly wouldn’t object to continuing that tradition in his forever home. Ollie has also met cats and, much like his sister Melanie, seems to find them fascinating without really understanding what he is supposed to do with them yet. For now, cats are interesting little creatures that deserve some curious observation while he figures them out. Of course, Ollie is still only four months old, which means there is one activity that outranks almost everything else: napping. Toys are great. Treats are wonderful. Cuddles are even better. But when a puppy needs a nap, a puppy needs a nap. Ollie is still learning about the world and may need a little patience when encountering unfamiliar people or situations. Give him the opportunity to observe, a few tasty treats, and the chance to realize he is safe, and you may quickly discover that the cautious puppy you first met has turned into an affectionate little shadow who would happily spend the rest of the afternoon in your lap. Meet Izzie. We are not sure she could get any cuter. Izzie has a soft sleek black coat with white markings on a long basset hound type body with short legs. Her head and ears however says their may be some beagle in the mix. She is long, lean, and petite. In that cute little package is a fun loving prancing pup with a lot of speed when zoomies kick in. She loves other dogs and plays great with all sizes. She is not a fan of having her picture taken. She is also not a fan of walking on leash so for that reason a yard would be best. She doesnt fight the leash she just lays down and stays put. We are working on it. She can be a little timid at first but settles in quickly. She would love a home where she could sleep in your bed curled up next to you... despite her short legs she can get on a standard bed or sofa. She is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines and on flea, tick, heartworm prevention. Sweet Izzie weighs less than 30 pounds. She is being fostered in North Alabama but can travel to the right home.
