WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌟🐾 Meet Gypsy — Short Legs, Big Heart, Still Waiting 💛🐾 Gypsy has been waiting… and waiting… and waiting. And honestly? She’s waited far too long for a girl this special. At 2 years old and 28 pounds, Gypsy is a delightful blend of Cattle Dog smarts and Basset Hound charm — think low-rider body, big-dog energy, and a personality that could light up a room. She’s basically the off-road model of a best friend: compact, sturdy, and always ready for an adventure. Gypsy LOVES her walks and is getting better and better on leash every day. She’s happiest when she’s outside, exploring the yard, supervising chores, or keeping an eye out for squirrels (her self-appointed job, and she takes it very seriously). When playtime winds down, she’s just as content following her favorite human around like a loyal little shadow. She’s playful, affectionate, and full of goofy charm. Toys are fun. Shoelaces are very intriguing. And her signature low-rider zoomies? Absolutely legendary. 🐾 Gypsy’s Highlights: ✅ 2 years old, 28 lbs ✅ Dog-friendly ✅ House & crate trained ✅ Loves walks and outdoor time ✅ Sweet, silly, and full of personality ✅ Equal parts sass, snuggles, and sunshine While Gypsy does great with other dogs, cats are an unknown — mostly because Gypsy believes squirrels are public enemy #1 — so she may prefer a home without feline roommates. What Gypsy really wants, though, isn’t much. She wants a family who will love her quirks, laugh at her goofy legs, and finally give her the forever home she’s been patiently waiting for. She’s ready to be someone’s hiking buddy, couch companion, and daily dose of happiness. 💛 Gypsy has so much love to give — she just needs someone to give her a chance. Short legs. Big heart. Endless loyalty. ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Gypsy finally stop waiting and start living the life she deserves. 🐾💛

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Archie, a 1.5-year-old neutered male Basset Hound / Retriever mix weighing approximately 65 lbs. He has been with his family since he was 10 weeks old and is a much-loved member of the household.  Archie is:  Up to date on all vaccines Healthy with no known medical issues Fully house trained Good with cats (curious sniffing, no chasing) Good with other dogs Has lived successfully with children Archie currently lives in a home with three children (ages 2, 5, and 7). One child has special needs and struggles with understanding dog boundaries. Despite the family’s best efforts, Archie has been repeatedly cornered and physically overwhelmed. When unable to escape, Archie has reacted defensively. For everyone’s safety, the family is proactively seeking a more suitable environment for Archie before a serious incident occurs.  This is not an emergency rehome — Archie is safe and cared for, and his family is committed to keeping him until the right home is found. This decision comes from a place of love and responsibility, with Archie’s long-term well-being as the priority. Ideal home for Archie: Adults or families with older, dog-savvy children A calm household where his space can be respected Someone who understands normal canine stress signals and can advocate for him Archie needs a home that matches his needs and sets him up for success. This is a courtesy listing, and Archie remains with his current owner.
