Story
Meet Starla! This sweet Beagle Mix lady is 4 years old and weighs about 25lbs. Starla came to rescue after ending up in the shelter incredibly pregnant. Despite our vet's best efforts, Starla lost all of her puppies, leaving her sad and confused. Fast forward a few months later, this sweet girl is coming into her own and realizing how wonderful having a family in a home can be! Starla is very sweet, rolling on her back for belly rubs whenever she gets the chance. She loves to go for walks and to explore the yard. She is fostered with other dogs and with cats and has done well meeting everyone, although a little nervous at first. Starla is fostered with two human foster brothers, ages 11 and 6 and gets frequent visits from the neighborhood kids, who love to take her for walks! Starla is great on a leash - sometimes needing a little extra persuasion to keep walking if she hears a scary noise! Starla is working very hard on her potty training skills and has improved so much since entering her foster home. Her foster family is confident that she will continue to improve in a new home with a consistent routine. Starla may have had a rough start, but she has overcome several obstacles to get to where she is today! She would love to keep improving with a family of her own! If you are interested in making Starla a part of your family - apply today! Her adoption fee is $275. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Roxie! Roxie is a 6 year old, 52-lb, Beagle-mix who loves nothing more than to chill by her people. That's not entirely true; she may love food more than that. This highly food motivated girl would prefer to snuggle on your lap to big, extravagant adventures. Roxie gets along with other dogs but would prefer if they were also pretty low-key, or at least respectful of her space. She's fine with the cats, often watching them curiously but from a safe distance. She would gladly accept the role of "child's best friend" as she loves kids and loves hanging out with them. Occasionally, Roxie will get a playful streak in her and want you to play tug of war with her and a toy. Or in the very least, she wants you to acknowledge that she is, in fact, a pretty girl with a toy. One of Roxie's favorite past times is giving judgmental looks to everyone. Need some extra motivation to stick to your New Year's resolutions? Perfect, Roxie has the face for that! She will bestow a perfectly primed judgmental look to throw at you for all your life's decisions. "We listen but we don't judge?" Not here! Roxie will absolutely judge you but she'll look cute doing it. If you're looking for a low-key companion to snuggle with and share your deepest secrets with (at least she can't spill them, right??) Roxie is the dog for you! Roxie is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Story
We have had odie for a little over a month after fostering him from another foster. We weren’t sure if we would be able to keep him long term. He has had surgery to remove a foreign object from his system recently and is recovering with us currently. Recovery is going well. He is the sweetest boy who is great with kids and other animals. Very gentle and loves to cuddle. He just turned 7 months old as well.

Bitty is the sweetest little beagle girl! She is around 2-3 years old. She was hit by a car leaving her with a spinal fracture. She is fecal/urine incontinent. She wears a diaper and is great for her diaper changes. She is able to be diapered while you’re at work (no worries). She loves other dogs and would be great with respectful kids. She does need a fence as she loves to run! Don’t wait, apply for this girl she will snuggle you & be a good girl for her diaper changes! She wears a size 3 baby diaper & no need for a tail hole. Story
Neema is an old girl - maybe 8-9? Found as a stray - emaciated and hairless. She’s doing great now! Looking for a comfortable retirement home to live out the rest of her days. Gets along with absolutely everyone. Very chill. Would love to just sleep in a chair and get pets and be told she’s a good girl. No health issues. Loves over dogs. She’s such an easy girl! She is puppy pad trained. She’ll go outside if you make her but she’d rather live in a chair. Loves food! Super sweet girl. All dogs are spayed, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
