Daisy is an adorable Lemon Beagle/Bassett Mix who is looking for her furever home with someone who will spoil her rotten. She has a nice balance of energy, loves hiking and walking and sometimes gets the zoomies, but also enjoys curling up in a sunny patch and snoozing for hours. She currently lives with 3 smaller dogs, but acts somewhat fearful of other dogs when out on a walk. She will initiate play with the dogs she knows, but considers all toys to be hers and does not share.Daisy currently has valley fever, but has responded well to meds. She is very sweet and endearing and a joy to be around.

Story
Tika is a sweet 5-yr. old girl with a lot of puppy energy. She is VERY inquisitive and is forever exploring, like a true hunting dog. Her exploring includes being able to stretch to get into things she can reach on tables and counter tops. She has the potential to be an escape artist, so a MINIMUM 6ft. BLOCK WALL is REQUIRED. We are also looking to adopt her within a 50 mile radius of Central Tucson. SoAZBR does a home visit on all applicants. She needs an owner that will take her on at least 2-3 walks daily AND have another active dog to play with, due to her HIGH energy. She is good with other dogs but NO CATS. Children in the family should be at least 8 yrs. old as she is very strong and would knock over a toddler. She loves to ride in a car and is good on a leash. She is ok in a crate but does have some separation anxiety so she should not be crated more than 2-3 hours. If she is left unattended for long she does like to get into anything her nose leads her to. She needs a doggie door so she can go in and out and explore, so she doesn’t get bored. Tika has had Valley Fever for a year and will likely stay on daily medication for at least another year or more. Her owner will be required to provide her daily meds and take her to regular vet visits to get bloodwork and Valley Fever levels checked.

Story
EVE Eve is a small sweet Puggle (pug and beagle) the vet estimates is 6 yrs. old and is 22 pounds with long legs. She's a lovebug and wants to cuddle with a person on a couch/chair and in bed. She knows how to use a dog door and has had no inside accidents. She has a lot of play energy and needs a home where she will be walked a minimum of 1-2 times a day. She also needs another dog to play with and a back yard to run in. Eve can jump high and a minimum 5ft. wall all the way around is required. She is also a digger. Fencing must have a footer so she doesn't dig her way under. Children in the home should be at least 6 yrs. or older, due to her energy. Her favorite thing to do is lay in the back yard, waiting to stalk squirrels. We aren't sure if she is cat friendly. She is not happy being in a crate. We are looking to adopt Eve in the Tucson area as she has the potential to be a door dasher. If you are interested in adopting Eve or have any questions about her, please fill out an application on the Southern Arizona Beagle Rescue website. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1SnhudHYFJaPfZyCeKy36-9pbowOVOI-xrX4TIiSIxl4/edit Eve's adoption fee is $250.November 5, 2024, 12:02 pm

Story
King is a super sweet 5-year-old boy, who was brought to the shelter by a good Samaritan. He absolutely loves to cuddle and plops directly in your lap as soon as you sit down. He is house trained and is very polite in the house. He is not interested in toys, but does steal the occasional plastic item to chew on. Other than that, he is not destructive in the home. He has some pulling issues on leash and likes to greet anyone he sees outside (by barking). We feel with continued training this will not be an issue. When you first leave the house, he barks a little but then settles down. He gets along great with other dogs and loves all people once he has the chance to be introduced. Unlike most beagles, he does not finish his meals! He was likely a grazer previously. He does finish when offered the remainder of his meal later. King has valley fever in his foot. He is on medication for this, and it does not seem to bother him, but he may need to be on medication for life. King would do best with an adopter who is okay with giving attention to and receiving constant companionship and snuggles from our boy. Adopter will need continued vet follow up for his valley fever. If you would like to meet King, please go to our website and fill out an application. His adoption fee is $200. This dog's adoption fee is a minimum $200.00 donation to help us save more dogs. Southern Arizona Beagle Rescue, SoAZBR is an all-volunteer group. One hundred percent of your donation is used for the care and treatment needy beagles. Your donation is 100% tax deductible, too. Story
Buzz Buzz is a 3ish year-old beagle boy, whose name is perfect as he loves to “buzz” around and is a busy little bee. He is about 25 pounds and needs to gain a few pounds (which he is working on!). True to his breed, he LOVES food and has learned to sit for treats quickly. He gets so excited about eating his meals that he does best eating in his kennel with a slow feeder bowl. He is very athletic and can jump quite high. You will want to make sure all chairs are pushed into tables as he can quickly jump up on counters or tables if he has a launching pad. He is a wonderful snuggler, and loves to be loved on. Also true to his breed, he has a pretty high energy level so will need play time chasing balls or toys, and/or a few walks a day. He does pull on the leash when he sees other dogs on walks, and will need continued training on this. He does well with other dogs, with proper introductions. He has not been tested with cats or young children. He does not do well in a crate / kennel when his people leave. However, he has not been destructive at all (keep all food out of reach!) and does well being left out with the crate door open. He knows how to use a doggy door and is mostly house trained. We continue to work on consistency going outside as he can get distracted and forget. He is a really smart boy and would do well at agility or obedience training. Buzz is a super sweet beagle boy and will make a wonderful companion for an active adopter. If you are interested in meeting Buzz, please fill out an application and his foster mom will be in touch. Buzz’s adoption fee is $300. This dog's adoption fee is a minimum $300.00 donation to help us save more dogs. Southern Arizona Beagle Rescue, SoAZBR is an all-volunteer group.
