Story
Copper is a 1-year-old Beagle mix with an extraordinary spirit and a story of true resilience. After battling and beating the severe distemper virus during months in the hospital, his gentle little body fought hard—and won. Copper is a special-needs pup who continues to experience tremors and requires assistance with eating, but his sweetness and determination never fade. He will thrive in a calm, stay-at-home environment with someone who can offer consistent support, patience, and love. Copper is a tender, soulful companion who deserves a family ready to give him the long, happy life he fought so hard for.

Story
Harriet is the best of the best. You’ll know it when you meet her: she gives undivided, unconditional love. She loves to be touched, she loves walking and she loves just because that’s who she is. She’s an old girl so she has arthritic joints, and needs some nice soft beds and pillows to hang out on.

Story
We love Grin's crooked smile  and his super-soft fur. Grin is about 8 years old and currently a bit over 16 pounds. He loves people and is super affectionate with his person; he loves to cuddle and would like a home where he is allowed on the bed. That said, he is not needy and he is crate trained and will sleep quietly all night in his crate. Grin needs an adult home. &#226&#128&#139Grin seems like a cross between a Puggle (Pug/Beagle) and   another breed. He has some of the looks of a Puggle, but not all. Grin lives with 3 other dogs and is great with them. He plays well with his foster sisters and respects the senior dog in the house. He would do fine with other dogs, or as an only dog. He is house trained and knows how to use a dog door. He does need a home with a private yard or patio. Grin doesn't pull on leash and is great on neighborhood walks where other dogs are also on leash. He will bark at off-leash dogs that run towards him, his foster is working on this and he is doing very well, but he does not do well in off-leash dog parks. He is fine meeting new dogs in his home or their home, and has made friends with some dogs he has met on walks (the key is when their people give him treats). If you are looking for love,  Grin may be the guy you are looking for.    Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Grin is $200. If you are interested in adopting Grin, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. See our other available dogs at  https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/available-dogs/ March 7, 2026, 12:47 pm

Story
Meet the sweetest little Maple bar you’ve ever seen! This young girl is about a year old and full of life and ready to learn and love from everyone she meets, human and dog alike.  She is crate trained and potty trained.   She is looking for a home with tons of humans to love her and other dogs to play with.  A family with kids of any age would be fantastic.  She has not been cat tested but given her personality, she will likely get along fine with them.  Yes, she is a tripod and she leaps and bounds happily everywhere she goes.  Maple weighs about 15 pounds. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Maple is $300. If you are interested in adopting Maple, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ .
