Story
Javi was found on a beach in Mexico. He just came over and sat with us. We took him home 3 days later and had him checked out by our vet. Aside from a few cuts on his face, he was in good shape. He has since been neutered and is current on his shots. We think he is a Beagle/Vizsla mix and about 1 year old (but not sure). We have had Javi in Mexico since December and are looking have him adopted. He is the sweetest of dogs, loves to snuggle, go on walks and basically chill with us. We have only heard him bark once, so he would not be the best watch dog. He has been friendly around other dogs and seems pretty indifferent to cats. He has not been exposed to kids, but has a wonderful disposition, so I think he would be good with them. He is house broken and crate trained. He can follow simple commands and is learning more each day. He will need a fenced in yard.

Story
Rarely has one ever met such a kind, old soul - Dixie Red is a doxie mix that is 9 going on 79 - an old lady in the body of a very ginger, very well loved little dog that loves routine, sun bathing to no end, and endless scratches behind her ears. She knows exactly what she wants and will tell you when she wants it with her animated body language. Red is the perfect companion for someone who has a lot of love to give, and a lot of time to spend together. Dixie gets her most excited when she can eat chicken, play with cats, and say hi to new friends of all ages. She had a surgery for a slipped disk a few years back, and has limited usage of her back end, causing her to overall be uneasy on her feet and need extra trips outside to go potty. Supplemental shots and diapers go a long way with her! She needs consistent care and attending to, to which her carer will be rewarded with a unique kind of love that truly can only be got from one dog in the world - Dixie Red.

Story
Linus is about 7 years old. He is super loving to his humans. He has a lot of energy and we have a toddler and it has become incredibly hard to take care of his needs while also taking care of the babies needs. He’s great with the baby but he is just too high energy to have around a baby. He’s not great around other dogs but he can be socialized. We feel we have let him down with the addition of our child coming into our family and we can’t give Linus he love and attention he needs.

Story
Stormi came to us from Stanislaus county shelter where she was picked up as a heavily pregnant stray and gave birth to her puppies within days of arriving in foster care. She is an approximately 20lb mixed breed. Stormi has been busy raising her puppies these last few weeks but we have begun to learn more about her recently. Even though she is only 1-2 years old she is low key and is content to hang out with her people although does enjoy some play time as well. She does well with large and small dogs who are also low key but could also be the queen of her own castle. No kitties for Stormi in the home please! She is also potty trained with regular potty breaks. Stormi is affectionate and deserves a home of her own. Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more!
