Story
Meet Tania — the sweetest little soul who just wants to be loved! At 4 years old and just 22 pounds, Tania is a petite little lady with a heart of gold! Don’t let her pictures fool you — she looks much bigger than she actually is. She’s a short, Basset-sized girl with the most precious personality. Tania was rescued from a hoarding house, and while we don’t know everything she’s been through, it’s clear that life hasn’t always shown her the kindness she deserves. She is INCREDIBLY sweet, gentle, and docile, but also very timid. There’s not an aggressive bone in this little girl’s body. She’s simply learning that people can be kind and that love is something she deserves, too. And oh, the way she reacts to affection will absolutely melt your heart. When you give her love, she looks up at you with the sweetest expression of genuine surprise, almost as if she’s asking, “Really? You like me?” It’s heartbreaking and beautiful all at once. But once you earn Tania’s trust, something magical happens. She becomes your sweet, calm little shadow, quietly following you around, soaking up your affection, and just wanting to be near her person. Tania absolutely LOVES other dogs! They give her confidence and help her feel safe in the world, so we would especially love to see her in a home with another friendly, confident pup who can show her the ropes. She’s not looking for a loud, chaotic life full of excitement. She’s looking for gentle hands, patient hearts, a cozy place to rest, and someone who will celebrate all the little moments as she continues to blossom. Tania may take a little time to give you her whole heart, but once she does, you’ll have the most loyal, loving little companion you could ever imagine. This sweet girl has spent enough of her life wondering if she’s worthy of love. We can’t wait for her to find a family who will spend the rest of her life showing her that she absolutely is. Tania is still in Puerto Rico and will be flying to her forever home or an adoptive home ASAP - whichever opens first.

Story
MEET MR. NIXON — A LITTLE BOY WITH A BIG HEART! Just one look into those soulful puppy eyes, and it's impossible not to fall in love! Meet Mr. Nixon, an adorable 2.5-month-old, 6-pound Lab/Beagle mix with the sweetest face, the cutest little personality, and a whole lot of love to give. Nixon and his siblings were cruelly dumped on a beach in Puerto Rico, left to fend for themselves when they were far too young to understand what was happening. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in, and this precious little boy is now safe, loved, and waiting for the happy ending he deserves. And what a little sweetheart he is! Nixon is everything you could want in a puppy: affectionate, playful, snuggly, and full of personality. He absolutely loves belly rubs, treats, and being showered with attention. He's wonderful with kids, loves everyone he meets, and has that perfect combination of goofy puppy energy and a gentle, loving heart. Nixon has received his vaccines and is not yet neutered. He is currently being fostered in Puerto Rico, but he can travel anywhere along the East Coast to join his forever family. This little beach baby has already experienced more uncertainty than any puppy should. But despite his rough beginning, Nixon has nothing but love to give. All he needs now is a family who will adore him, spoil him with belly rubs, laugh at his silly puppy antics, and promise never to leave him behind again.

Story
Rogue is the best dog ever she is 9 years old going on 10. It hurts me having to do this but my schedule is too hard to give her the best life I can give her. I had her since she was a puppy. She is a sweetheart she loves her cuddle time on the couch or sleeping in the bed with you. And you can always find her wrapped up in a pile of blankets! She is very smart. She even taught her self how too use the pee pad in the house this year. She loves her walks and love chicken. She enjoys just sniffing around the house so a fenced in backyard is a must. She is very gentle and loves being pet. She is very vocal and will tell you want she wants. She is very trained. This hurts me having to do this but I want the best for her and I know she can make a family very happy.

Story
Fiona is a sweet senior girl, around 8–10 years old, who is looking for a soft place to land after being surrendered by her previous owners. Despite everything changing around her, Fiona remains incredibly loving and gentle. She is friendly with everyone she meets, gets along well with other dogs, and truly just wants to be near people who will love her. We believe Fiona may have some vision impairment, which we are currently working to confirm, but she doesn’t let that stop her from being the wonderful girl she is. At this stage in her life, Fiona isn’t asking for much. She just wants a quiet, comfortable home where she can finally settle in, feel safe, and spend her golden years knowing she belongs. She has so much love left to give and deserves a family who will show her that forever really does mean forever. Fiona can’t wait to meet you. Apply to adopt at compassionkind.org/adopt   ##2840546##

If the question is not answered in the bio please send emails to   info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com Hi there! Daisy is a resilient Beagle with a heart full of love, eager to find her forever family! She's been through a lot, but thankfully, a kind neighbor stepped in after her previous situation, and the incredible team at HLDR got her back on her paws. They helped her recover from fleas and worms, and now she's feeling fantastic. As a true Beagle, she's bursting with excitement when she meets new people, and she thrives on social interactions. However, her curious Beagle nature also makes her a bit of an escape artist, so a secure, fenced yard and careful door management are a must for her. She's currently enjoying the company of her foster brother and has even claimed his dog bed as her own cozy spot. Her ideal home is one that cherishes the Beagle breed, understands our need for activity and mental stimulation, and provides a safe and loving environment. She's ready for daily walks, exploring a secure yard, lots of snuggles, and perhaps some car adventures! If you're a Beagle lover seeking a loyal and affectionate companion, she's the girl for you! Daisy's adoption fee is $400 - obedience training is required after adoption and fully enclosed front or backyard is also required. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Coco (Coco Bean) is shy gentleman. He is blind in one eye and possibly has limited vision in the other eye. Coco would do best in a home with another dog to help with his confidence.  He is a total sweetheart and is still learning to accept love and affection. He wants to be in the same room with his person, and likes to cuddle and sleep on a pilllow.    When company visits, he hides but quickly warms if they don’t make any sudden moves.   Coco loves to go on walks! In fact, he barks with excitement when he knows it is time to go for a walk. He likes to walk in quieter areas because noises can make him nervous.  With love and patience, Coco will develop a deep bond with a person and give them unconditional love. Won't you give this sweet boy a home?  Adopters age 65 and over who adopt senior dogs pay a special adoption fee of $100.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 21, 2026, 10:50 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. She arrived as Granny. It's a sweet name, but about ten minutes in, it was clear it didn't match the dog. This lady hops. She hops when the harness comes out, because the harness means going somewhere, and going somewhere is her favorite thing in the world. So Granny became Franny, and Franny it is. Her paperwork says 11. Our vet took one look and said he'd be surprised. Whatever her real number, she has not read it. Franny loves to go. She'll lead you to the door, then to the car, then look back to make sure you're coming. But she's just as good at the other half of the day. She loves her time in the backyard, and she loves her time on the couch pressed up against her person. She knows how to play, she knows how to cuddle, she knows how to ask for a belly rub, and she is a deeply enthusiastic eater. She's living with our two dogs, one bigger and one smaller, and she does well with both. She's potty trained, with a couple of accidents her first few days and none since. She taught herself the doggy door. What she wants most is company. Franny can be left alone, she'd just rather not be. She has been a perfect work-from-home companion, happy to sleep at your feet all morning as long as you're there. She's funny, she's sweet, and she is so ready for a family of her own.   Granny Franny is heartworm positive.  She can be adopted during treatment if the adopter is local and able to transport her to her vet visits. Adopters age 65 and over who adopt senior dogs (age 8 and older) pay a special adoption donation of $100.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 21, 2026, 10:50 am
