Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bruce will let you sleep late!  He lets his foster mom stay in bed until 9 am on the weekends. When he finally wakes up, he wants ear scratches and belly rubs.  Overall his avtivity level is pretty moderate, but every now and then he has bursts of energy and gets the zoomies.  Bruce really loves being with other dogs and they help his confidence a lot. In his foster home he plays Security Chief, keeping tabs on what's going on outside. He is fluent with the doggie door and goes out to sniff around in the backyard. He could use a little leash training. Bruce came to us skinny and fearful and he can still be timid and sensitive to loud noises, fast movements, and new people. Patience and gentleness are the key to his trust. Once he feels safe and comfortable, he'll follow you around the house and even snuggle with you. His foster mom has been crating him when she's away and she lets him sleep on the foot of the bed.  He's quite comfortable in the crate for several hours at a time. Bruce tested positive for heartworms, but has gone through treatment and is doing well. He is housebroken and is anxiously awaiting a sleepover.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 29, 2026, 1:56 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Matty's personality is all beagle! He's a friendly boy who was dropped off at a Louisiana shelter as a stray and he is so happy to be in his foster home! Matty wants to hang out with his humans and be a part of whatever is going on. He loves to cuddle and will do anything for food, including stealing it when you aren’t looking. Housetraining is still a work in progress, but improving. He does well in a crate. Once his foster parents started feeding him in his crate and giving him treats there, he was eager to jump right in. He is mostly quiet, even in the crate. He doesn’t bark unless he's helping the other dogs defend the yard, but even then he is not the instigator. And Matty is good with other dogs, even if they bark and growl at him. He isn’t intimidated, he just keeps going. He loves stuffed toys but occasionally he will get hold of something that isn’t a toy. He is still learning that part of being in a house. If you want a true beagle, he is exactly what you're looking for. Matty is heartworm positive but scheduled for treatment in Louisiana mid-March. He is healthy and asymptomatic so we expect him to do well. His transport to Florida can be arranged when we have an available foster home or prospective adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 29, 2026, 1:56 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDINGRowdy is a goofy little guy -- fun loving, high energy, and very affectionate. He comes with a lot of perks. He's housebroken, crate trained (he does prefer white noise while crated), and knows basic obedience (sit, down, place, drop it). Rowdy is great on a leash and trained to walk at your left side. He rarely pulls, unless he sees a small animal. When he meets people and other dogs his size or larger on walks he is very friendly, but little dogs and cats seem to stimulate his urge to chase. By beagle standards, Rowdy is fairly quiet. He only barks at the doorbell or when another dog is barking. But Rowdy's current life presents him with two challenges that he struggles with. We are looking for a family who can provide him with a calmer environment. Although Rowdy was  raised with 2 small kids (now 6 and 2.5 years old), he would very much prefer either just adults, or older children. The younger ones just make him anxious and that makes it hard for him to be a fully participating member of the family. The other thing that Rowdy is very much hoping for in his new life is not a lot of visitors. Rowdy can be nervous with some new people coming into his home -- not at all aggressive, but uncomfortable and will run and hide. However, when our Intake Coordinator visited him presenting with the right non-threatening body language...and chicken... she was immediately his friend! His sweet kisses were abundant. But it can be a challenge for him when new people come into his home. Rowdy is neutered, heartworm negative and he is ready for a sleepover!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 29, 2026, 1:56 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Dixie Lee is even more beautiful in person than she is in her pictures! She has a velvety soft coat and big eyes... and she is such a lover!! Her personality is happy-go-lucky and she transitioned to her foster home easily. Although she is a bit on the larger size and is strong, she is so well behaved. She is amazing on leash without pulling, although her nose is definitely doing the Beagle thing. She knows 'no', will sit on command and is 100% house trained. Dixie Lee sleeps contentedly in her crate at night for 8 hours, and when her foster family leaves home their monitoring cameras show her whining for just a little while,9 but then settling right down. Dixie Lee is doing great with her foster sibling who is a senior male. She has been friendly with other dogs she has met but was a little afraid of a male her own size who was very high energy and wanted to play hard. She has a slightly above moderate energy level herself, and we'd really love to see her have a big enough fenced yard to be able to do a bit of running around. She plays with toys occasionally but she is all beagle when it comes to food and a slow feeder bowl for meals is a must. Most important for Dixie his human affection in the way of belly rubs, head scratches and perhaps a little room on your lap. Dixie will be ready to go on sleepover sometime the first week of June. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 29, 2026, 1:56 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDINGMiriam is a spunky little senior beagle girl. She likes cuddles, trips to the dog park and a little bit of chicken broth poured on top of her kibble. She is very friendly with other dogs and has enjoyed sharing a dog bed with Matty, also on our website. Her foster dad says Miriam feels it is important for her to know what is going on, so she likes to be right next to him checking things out. She sleeps in her crate all night without a problem and is doing great with housetraining, (although she is not left unsupervised in the house). Overall Miriam does not appear to be food crazy like many beagles, but she does get really excited for treats -- so much so that she can be hard to contain. Perhaps there were not treats in her past life. It is possible that humans were not always kind to Miriam as sometimes, if she is unsure of your intentions, she will scurry away. Her confidence would benefit from some basic training where she could rely on certain outcomes and rewards. She walks well on a leash, at least for short periods, and is really a most loveable dog. Miriam is heartworm negative, expected to arrive in Florida sometime the last week of May and will be ready for a sleepover.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 29, 2026, 1:56 pm

He truly enjoys closeness so you are going to have to be okay with him laying on you and kissing your face. He will actually nibble your chin. He just does not understand personal space. And Copper is friendly with all people and dogs. He's just a very happy guy but he is fully of energy and will beed play and exercise.  He does well in his crate during the day when the family is gone(max 5 hours) or at night, and he's doing excellent with housetraining.
