Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDINGHushpuppy is a people magnet! He is so cute everyone who meets him just has to love on him ...and he's fine with that! He loves meeting new people. His foster mom says he likes to be near her and will lie beside her on the couch and bury his nose between her and the cushions. When he first arrived in his foster home, Hushpuppy was a little timid. At first, he was hesitant to explore much outside. We are aware that he came to the shelter from an owner who kept him and his brothers in pretty horrible conditions in an outdoor penned area. Also, he may not have had much experience with toys, but he is just starting to enjoy them. Hushpuppy has been friendly with the other dogs he’s met and also does fine with the cat, but he does want to go after rabbits! He’s not hugely food motivated, unless its the cat food. Housetraining is going very well with only a couple of accidents in the house. Hushpuppy does not really like the crate, but when his foster mom goes to work and leaves him at home alone with her other dog, they both have free roam, and Hushpuppy has not gotten into any mischief. At night he LOVES sleeping in the bed with foster mom and the other dog. He is not leash walked much in his foster home but he seems to do fine a few times he has gone to the vet. We think he would do best in a home that has a calm environment and where he can get lots of affection. He is a joy to have around! Hushpuppy is heartworm positive, his treatment has been scheduled, and as long as post treatment requirements can be met, he should be ready for a sleepover the weekend of August 21st.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 9, 2026, 7:43 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Matty's personality is all beagle! He's a friendly boy who was dropped off at a Louisiana shelter as a stray and he is so happy to be in his foster home! Matty wants to hang out with his humans and be a part of whatever is going on. He loves to cuddle and will do anything for food, including stealing it when you aren’t looking. Housetraining is improving. He does well in a crate. Once his foster parents started feeding him in his crate and giving him treats there, he was eager to jump right in. He is mostly quiet, even in the crate. He doesn’t bark unless he's helping the other dogs defend the yard, but even then he is not the instigator. And Matty is good with other dogs, even if they bark and growl at him. He isn’t intimidated, he just keeps going. He loves stuffed toys but occasionally he will get hold of something that isn’t a toy. He is still learning that part of being in a house. If you want a true beagle, he is exactly what you're looking for. Matty was treated for heartworm in March. He is healthy and asymptomatic so we expect him to do well.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 9, 2026, 7:43 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDINGNadia is a princess. We think her purpose in life is to be adored, cuddled and petted. She does however fully engage in some incredible zoomies and does not mind a few beagle minions (undoubtedly slower) chasing behind. In vain will they try to catch her, but she knows how to do a quick pancake to quell the fray if they do. That being said, Nadia would either like to have a fenced yard or be taken to a spacious dog park once or twice a week. She does great with other dogs and initiates play but she would be fine as an only dog... as long as she had some mental stimulation like play and plenty of walks. In her foster home she is doing well with house training as long as she is encouraged to go outside regularly. She knows how to use the dog door but still needs a bit of management or she will go on the bathroom floor. She eats and sleeps in a crate in the bedroom at night and does quite well with that. However, she's an odd little beagle as far as her eating habits. She is extremely picky about treats and seldom eats them. She prefers a little chicken or just the right kind of wet food mixed with her kibble. She is not crazy about food like most beagles are and if she doesn't want it she will try to hide it in her bedding. Nadia is not extremely vocal and we have seldom heard her bark. Currently she is not left alone so we're not quite sure how she would do with that. We understand from her past that she is okay with cats and she would most likely be good with children although we can't speak to that from experience. Nadia is very friendly with people and very gentle. She is submissive and compliant. She is heartworm positive and will be treated at the end of August. She will be ready for sleepover the second week of September but the activity restriction will need to be observed and no Zoomies for at least 4 weeks.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 9, 2026, 7:43 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDINGIris loves life! She is soooo curious and inquisitive. She adores being outside sniffing and running around, and inside she is just as much of an explorer, jumping on her little hind legs to see whatever is on the counter! Iris is not hugely food motivated oddly enough, she's just an investigator. And she loves toys -- squishy toys, ones that make noise, ones with crinkles in them. She likes to chew but has not destroyed or ripped any up. She is special in the way she loves to be near her humans. She is very lovey! Iris is also very friendly with new people and is thrilled when guests come over. Now if she is taken to a new environment, it takes her a little time because, well she's just got to investigate before she's totally comfortable! She can be super energetic at times but also LOVES to snooze for extended periods of time. At night she sleeps in a dog bed in the bedroom, but with the bedroom door closed so she doesn't roam. Her foster family works full time so Iris is currently crated during the day, sometimes for up to  8-9 hours. She's not particularly happy with the situation so we have promised her that we will look for a family who is home much more of the time. She has done well with the other two dogs in her foster home but can occasionally get a bit bossy when she is in an elevated place like the couch. This behavior simply causes her to have to relinquish the 'prime real estate' and then once again she is her happy self. She mostly wants to play, but she is young and may need clear boundaries from her humans. Iris is admittedly not great on leash so we recommend a fenced yard... or patient people who will train. She is heartworm positive and will be treated the second week of September.  She should be ready to go on sleepover by mid-September as long as post heartworm treatment protocols can be observed.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 9, 2026, 7:43 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Colleen is a tender soul and a real people lover. She is also very good with other dogs, both male and female, and gentle with cats. One cat she met bopped her on the nose and Colleen just rolled over on her back. :) She was seen being dumped from a car, but fortunately she was rescued and taken to a very good shelter. She has now settled in well in her Florida foster home. She has a moderate to low energy level, will occasionally play with toys and sometimeswith other dogs. Although she likes her food, she is not super food motivated and a little crazy like some beagles can be. She also walks well on leash. Colleen will make someone the most calm, serene and loving companion. She tested positive for heartworms but has completed her treatment and ready for a sleepover. She does need a home where people will not have to leave her alone very much because she has exhibited some separation anxiety.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 9, 2026, 7:43 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Peaches was a homeless beagle in an Alabama shelter. She looked sad and very skinny in her picture and we can tell that she was most likely used for breeding and has had many litters. She has put on some weight but we'd like her to put on a little more. There's no problem there because Peaches loves food and does a happy dance at every eating occasion. (Please see video below.) The couch is her favorite place to sleep and her foster mom loves to hear her snore. Other dogs really make peaches happy and she has done really great with the other dog in her foster home. They play well together and Peaches is very good at sharing her toys. We'd very much hope for another dog in her forever home. She has also been with a cat and showed no interest in bothering her, she does not seem to have any prey drive. She does enjoy meeting new people but can still be a little nervous and crouch down when they reach for her. Her foster mom had an opportunity to see her interact with children in the age range of 5 to 8. She was a bit nervous at the beginning but she loved the pats from them. Peaches is very good on leash and is currently doing well with house training, as long as she is taken outside regularly. Her foster mom has has rarely crated and only for about an hour with the door shut, but when they need to leave her alone she does fine in the kitchen behind a baby gate. She has her daily zoomies but otherwise Peaches has a pretty chill energy level. She does love to be outside and is confident and curious to explore. Peaches is heartworm positive and her treatment will be scheduled sometime the first week of September, so she will be ready for sleepover the second week.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 9, 2026, 7:43 pm
