Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Darla has spent the last seven months in a loving foster home in Mississippi where she's come such a long way. When she first arrived she was shy and unsure, but with time, patience, and gentle reassurance, Darla has truly blossomed and her sweet personality now shines through. She still may take a little time to warm up and has shown preference for women over men at first, but once you've earned her trust she'll be your best bud. She now adores her foster dad and even gives him little hand licks to express her love! Darla is great with kids and loves other dogs. In fact, having canine friends around seems to help her feel more confident so a home with another dog would be welcomed. Darla  needs to be in a home with a fenced-in yard where she can safely explore and sniff to her heart's content. Darla is heartworm negative, spayed, and ready for her sleepover. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 2, 2025, 3:02 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Emmett is a scholar and a gentleman. When he came to his foster home he was a bit hesitant around new people, but quickly settled in for a good scratch when allowed to advance on his own terms. He is a very affectionate and happy boy. He loves to go outside and explore his environment. When it is time for him to come in he will quickly respond to his name and come prancing up with his head held high and a smile on his face. Emmett does really well on a leash but he does like to lead the way. He loves his crate and and is content to go in it for a short afternoon nap or a long evening sleep. He gets along great with his foster’s older dogs, being sure to give them their space when they are not in the mood to play. As a gentleman he rarely barks as he does not want to disturb his household. Emmett is doing a great job with his house training, getting an A+ from his foster mom on his progress. He is heartworm positive and currently going through treatment. Emmett’s foster mom says he is a gentle and affectionate pup and a joy to have in her home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 2, 2025, 7:05 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Banjo came to us from an owner who was unfortunately losing his home. We are sorry for the gentleman and his situation, but very glad we are able to provide some much-needed medical care for Banjo. We are so happy to share that he does NOT have heart issues as we initially suspected!  His cough was instead due to a collapsed trachea and is so much better than when he arrived. Banjo has settled in nicely in his foster home! He's a good boy and his foster mom allows him to sleep in bed with her or on the couch. She thinks he is very smart and taught him to shake hands in about 20 minutes! He does rest a lot but he also really enjoys his walks, typical beagle with nose to the ground smelling everything! Banjo can be a bit excited when first meeting another dog, but we think he would do best in a home with a dog or a cat as a buddy and he prefers not to be left alone for very long. As far as his medical care, of course being a senior he will have some issues down the road. For the time being. Being his blood work looks good but we will be bringing him back for some booster vaccinations and recheck at the end of December. Banjo could go on sleepover anytime! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 4, 2025, 2:21 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Scarlett is seriously spunky for her age. She was a stray who had to fend for herself, so she is clever and independent. She is resourceful when it comes to food and has been known to counter surf - a skill very common with beagles. She gets along really well with both dogs and people, and she loves to sit on the couch with her foster mom or dad in the evening. When she first arrived it was clear that she was not house trained, but she is learning and getting very close. She tries to go outside, but if she can’t get there, she will use the mat by the door. She also walks well on a leash. She loves toys but is one of those dogs whose goal is to remove the stuffing. However, the toy does not lose its allure unstuffed! Oh no, she is still quite happy to continue playing with it. Scarlett seems much younger than she is because she is so lively and friendly. She tested positive for heartworms but has done her treatment. She will be arriving in Florida mid-October and will be ready to go on sleepover. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 2, 2025, 10:43 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ADOPTION PENDINGSnap has wonderful ways of showing his happiness -- from a shy tail wag, to moving closer and closer to lie down where you are sitting. Snap came to us a very fearful little beagle, but he is coming around. He is a big lover of peanut butter and would put aside his biggest fears all for peanut butter. When meeting new people Snap is very shy, but will approach for treats, particularly peanut butter. He loves a snuggly bed and really likes his crate -- but with the door open. He is really friendly with other dogs and likes to play, although has a slow and unaggressive playstyle. Having another dog in his new home would be extremely beneficial. Snap has a sweet bark that he only uses occasionally when the wind is blowing just right. He has a toddler in his foster home who frequently sits to offer him treats and sings songs to him. House training is coming along well. Sometimes he wears a belly band while out in the house with no supervision. He doesn’t even wee in the band, so it is a helpful tool. When Snap's foster family is away from home, they leave him in a closed off part of the house with their other dogs. The other dogs sleep most of the time, and so does Snap. He likes chew toys, walks well on leash and is curious and happy to explore and follow his nose. He will allow snuggles after a good long walk. Snap continues to grow more confident each day and he is a great companion. Snap is heartworm negative and ready for a sleepover.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 30, 2025, 6:11 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Poncho's little heart longs for a family. He was so unhappy at the shelter and when he first arrived at his foster home he seemed insecure. He followed his foster mom and dad everywhere around the house. But after a few days, he realized he was safe and he relaxed. He can now sleep contentedly on the couch with them in another room, once he's checked to see what they are doing. Poncho has learned to sit for his treats, and he loves to gives kisses. He's good in a crate when left at home and doesn’t complain. Although he has not been destructive in the house, he does like to remove the stuffing out of stuffed toys. He also really likes a cuddle when it rains and there is thunder. He is talkative, barking at strange noises or to let you know he wants something, but his barking is not excessive. He also barks at new people who come in the house but settles down pretty soon. He walks fairly well on leash and his house training, although not perfect, is coming along. Pancho is heartworm positive and will be ready for his heartworm treatment injections mid-December. He is currently with one of our wonderful Fosters in Louisiana but will come to Florida as soon as we either have a foster or a potential adopter for him.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 4, 2025, 2:21 pm
