He is housebroken, shows no food aggression, and has not needed to be crated when left at home alone. He is also very quiet and has only been heard barking a couple of times. He would be fine with someone working outside the home full time. Buster could live with or without other dogs. While he doesn't actively play with other hounds in his foster home, he happily joins them at the fence line to greet neighbors. When Buster was fostered in Alabama we learned that he did well with cats and children -- he was with a 9-year-old and a 2-year-old who were good to respect his space. He loves walking and does not require a fenced yard as long as he gets several daily walks. He enjoys rolling in the grass, getting belly rubs, and playing a game of throwing his beef sticks in the air. He sleeps wherever he likes and loves to snuggle in. This little beagle girl is so full of joy and is always ready to make a new friend. She lives in a busy foster home with lots of other dogs and loves playtime with her canine buddies, but she adores her humans just as much. Tilly may be small, but she has a big personality and plenty of energy! She would thrive with an active family, a playful dog companion, and ideally a fenced yard where she can run and burn off some of that enthusiasm. Her excitement makes leash walking a work in progress, so she’ll need a patient family willing to help her learn. She’s also making progress with housetraining since arriving at her foster home only just a week ago. During the workweek, Tilly is crated for 4–5 hours when the family is away, but she’d much rather be with her people, and if she’s not happy about being left behind… she’ll happily let you know—this little beagle has quite the singing voice! He's a friendly boy who was dropped off at a Louisiana shelter as a stray and he is so happy to be in his foster home! Matty wants to hang out with his humans and be a part of whatever is going on. He loves to cuddle and will do anything for food, including stealing it when you aren’t looking. Housetraining is improving. He does well in a crate. Once his foster parents started feeding him in his crate and giving him treats there, he was eager to jump right in. He is mostly quiet, even in the crate. He doesn’t bark unless he's helping the other dogs defend the yard, but even then he is not the instigator. And Matty is good with other dogs, even if they bark and growl at him. He isn’t intimidated, he just keeps going. He loves stuffed toys but occasionally he will get hold of something that isn’t a toy. He is still learning that part of being in a house. If you want a true beagle, he is exactly what you're looking for. Matty was treated for heartworm in March. He is healthy and asymptomatic so we expect him to do well. Now, just at the very start of her senior years, she is getting the fresh start she deserves. Bonnie is in a very loving foster home and has become completely devoted to her foster dad. She follows him from room to room and, although she is quiet for the most part, she does howl a bit mournfully when he has to go out. She is a mellow girl, content to nap a lot during the day, but she does enjoy long walks if taken at a leisurely pace, and she is good on leash. With a consistent routine, her housetraining continues to improve, but foster dad knows he's got to have the timing right. He has also shared that Bonnie has a funny habit of getting the zoomies after she does her potty -- not when she pees, but the other. We guess it makes her happy lol. She is heartworm positive but our vet says her lungs sound clear and her heart strong. So we've brought her up to date on her vaccinations, treated ear infections, intestinal parasites and skin issues caused by flea allergic dermatitis and poor nutrition. Then Bonnie had a much-needed dental cleaning with some necessary extractions, (not to worry - no problem eating yummy food and treats!) Now she is ready for her heartworm treatment injections. Recovery should be smooth as she is so calm and she will be ready for a sleepover mid-August. If you’re looking for a loving and devoted companion, you may be the happy ending to Bonnie's rags to riches story. She is so deserving, please consider giving her that. He came to us from a rural Kentucky shelter where he'd been surrendered by an owner who could no longer care for him and he has adjusted well in his foster home. Dapper has a very submissive personality to other dogs as well as to people. He is very attached to his humans and likes to go everywhere they go. He loves belly rubs and cuddles and, as time has gone by he is becoming more and more comfortable taking the initiative to jump on the couch and cuddle with his foster mom and dad. He’s also making good grades in house training, often whining to signal he needs to go out. He is crated when his family has to leave him alone but he does get anxious and needs a secure crate. He would probably do much better with a dog who would hang out with him and also with a family who does not have to leave him alone very much. He does sometimes sleep in his crate at night. Dapper loves toys and likes to walk around the house with a toy in his mouth. Because being near his people is what seems to make Dapper the most happy, we think he would be fine as an only dog, and he'd probably be fine without a fenced yard as well - although he has been known to try to dart out an open door. Dapper does pretty well on leash and although he pulls a little, he is so small it is not a problem. He is a precious little guy who just wants human love. She is also very good with other dogs, both male and female, and gentle with cats. One cat she met bopped her on the nose and Colleen just rolled over on her back. :) She was seen being dumped from a car, but fortunately she was rescued and taken to a very good shelter. She has now arrived in Florida and is settling in very well in her foster home. She appears to have a moderate to low energy level, does not show any interest in toys and, although she likes her food, is not highly food motivated. She also walks well on leash. Colleen will make someone the most calm, serene and loving companion.
