He is making great progress on his leash walking and basic obedience in his foster home. His foster family works with him daily and he is eager to learn.  He also loves toys and can often be found carrying one around the house. Gustav can be dog selective and does better meeting new dogs with a slow introduction in an open area. He could also be an only dog with no problem. Gustav loves car rides especially to get a pup cup or go through the bank drive through. He loves walks and does not get separation anxiety. His manners are so much improved. He wanted to jump up at the counters and table while you were eating and preparing food, but has really come a long way. He was pretty much starving when we got him, so can’t say I blame him. He loves bones, but doesn’t play with toys. Duke loves other dogs and gets along with cats. He would really do great in any household. He is not house broken but we are working on it and he does wear belly wraps with no problem. We think he has lived a hard life but does NOT take it out on anyone! He is very social and loves to be around people. This guy just soaks up the attention.  He gets along well with the other dogs in the home. He loves to eat. He is NOT food aggressive…. Just loves to eat… which means he is very easily trainable.  He now loves sleeping in his crate….. all it took is a nightly dog biscuit. He is doing great with potty outside and has taught himself how to use a doggy door.   He is very gentle and great with kids although he does jump on people with excitement but is learning patience!  Fletcher will be a perfect addition to any family! He would be awesome with a kid to be his “best buddy” forever.  He is ready to be loved and pampered by his forever family. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jasmine and Odis are a dynamic duo of 2 year old beagles who are looking for a home together.  They are brother and sister who love each other and LOVE people.  They are each about 29 lbs.  They are friendly and outgoing and very silly.  They love to look out the window and hang out on the couch.  They can be trusted to be left alone without being grated.  Jasmine and Odis love to be around people.  They are wonderful companions. Jasmine and Odis came into the shelter in rough shape.  We don't know what kind of life they were living but they are protective of each other.  They are young enough to be overcome their previous life with consistency and love.   They do not like being crated but can be if they are share the same crate.  They need to be in a home without any other dogs and must be adopted together. Jasmine is heartworm positive.  They can be adopted while she completing her treatment if the adopter is local.  Jasmine isn't expected to have any health concerns once her treatment is completed. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Wilson is a true rescue.  He is an older boy (approximately 7years old) who has had a rough beginning.  He has a previous leg injury but he compensates for it well; he loves to go on short walks and uses a step to hop up on the couch to curl up next to you.  He has skin issues and is missing most of the fur on his tail, but since his coat is more wire-haired he does not really shed!  He has significant separation anxiety and does not like to be confined, although he can be left in a crate for a few hours (he will bark for the first 10 minutes but then will settle down).  He likes to chew and steal things (like shoes!) so he will need someone who is patient, home often, and willing to work with him on his behavior.  He is eager to please and will sit nicely for a treat.  He is a great “work from home” buddy (as long as you don’t mind a little snoring).  He will also sleep on a dog bed next to your bed at night with no issue.  Wilson is not a fan of other dogs so he will need to be an only dog in a household with no small children. Quincy is relatively low energy and perfectly content just hanging around his people or lying in bed. He is quite the snuggler and loves giving kisses. Almost every single day either Duke's foster mom or foster dad says, 'Duke is a really good dog!' - because he is! Please be sure to check out the video clip below. He is a well behaved, good looking fellow. Duke has been in his foster home for several months now and his disposition has been exemplary. Although he is definitely into lizards and squirrels his recall is amazingly good and he will run to you and sit down right in front of you. Most often he has a happy grin on his face. He also crates very well as long as there's a promise of at least a small treat for him when he goes in. His crate is where he has his meals and sleeps at night. House training has been excellent from day one. Duke is moderate energy but really needs a fenced yard and he could jump a 4 ft fence easily. He does like to run but also enjoys just lying about surveying his property and watching for the squirrels and lizards! He loves affection and, although he doesn't pester or beg for it, he's ready anytime you are! Duke is wonderful at just curling up next to you on the couch, content to be at your side. He also goes by Beau, Beauregard or even BoBo.  Strangers become friends in no time at all. People everywhere stop to meet and pet him for a few minutes.  He loves people.  He is neutered, house broken, loves long walks, cuddles and belly rubs.  Bo is great on the leash but sometimes if he's sees a squirrel, his instincts take over and he starts to run after it. Bo would need a human who could handle the surprise squirrel appearances.    Bo is a cuddler and loves to be loved. Deacon is a little guy at just 20 lbs and he weighed much less than that when he was found wandering in Georgia. He's got a hearty appetite despite missing almost all of his teeth. In his foster home he is with several other dogs but there is no issue at all with food aggression - he just takes what’s his and leaves the other dogs and their food alone. Deacon appears to be house trained and loves his doggie bed and does well in a crate too. He actually prefers sleeping in a dog bed to sleeping in bed with a human, and he's not particularly comfortable with being picked up. Deacon is heartworm negative and his bloodwork came back looking great. His heart and lungs sounded good and we moved forward with his neuter surgery and a good dental. His coat was so devitalized and he was so itchy that we also gave him a Cytopoint injection and now his coat and skin are looking so much better. Lack of care and poor nutrition are a thing of the past for this happy guy. We're going to give her 10 to 14 days on some anti-inflammatory pain meds and reevaluate. She is so happy and peppy and we want to be sure we're doing the right thing for her. We will keep you posted! Pregnant and alone, Shiloh found herself in an Alabama shelter. Fortunately the shelter found a foster home for her and they made sure she had everything she needed. Shiloh was a wonderful mom and her puppies were healthy and have gone to another rescue. We are delighted to have mom who is incredibly sweet and loving, very low key and not a talker. Shiloh is a little shy but wags her tail all the time. She walks great on leash and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. Shiloh does appear to be nervous around children and really exuberant dogs. She is heartworm negative but we have a vet exam scheduled just to check on a slight limp.
