Toby is a bundle of joy with lots of love to give. He is a fantastic tugger and hugger with some cute quirks and takes amazing photos! He is a quick learner of tricks and home behavior. He does live for the cuddles and has shown his innate ability as a lap dog. Toby socializes well with other people and kids; he can get jumpy but has shown signs of improvement throughout the 2.5 weeks. He is potty training well, with him being able to start giving cues that he needs to go.

Howdy! I'm Buckeye Unfortunetly, I was found on the side of the road in Morrisville with a buddy. We were left with our bed and food :(( But not to worry, that sad start in life doesn't effect me in the slightest! I am in a foster home and they are taking the best care of me and helping me become the bestest boy around! My foster family says I do great on a leash, love to play with other dogs, and I love playing ball! I'm a sweet boy, around 8 months old and I don't think I will get much bigger! I look to be maybe a Beagle/Bulldog mix but that's a guess. I will most likely be medium sized around 30-35 lbs at most. I'm a happy and energetic boy looking fo rthe perfect forever home.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas at least monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35).
