Story
Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption only $200, in TX

Story
Claire, Claire-Bear, Baby-Bear is one loving dog. She is the talk of the dog park. She's always the fastest dog there, LOVES running laps, greets everyone as they arrive, makes herself at home on people's laps, and melts when you pet her. She was one of my fosters from the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. They found her and 49 other siblings inside a house at the age of about 6 months old. My ex-fiance loved her and decided to adopt her...I later found out he struggled with zoophilia so needless to say, him and I broke it off and I took the dog. It breaks my heart to do this and it goes against everything I stand for, but unfortunately I need to rehome her due to not getting along with my 5 year old, 6lbs, shih tzu mix. They can get into fights over toys, food, and even me. I've tried to bear through it, but it is no longer safe for the little dog and it is not fair for Claire to have to live in fear. It is SO SAD because Claire is the best dog. So loving, energetic, and sweet.

Story
Tucker is our newest pup, and he is a younger adult who is just such a sweetie! Lots of energy, seems to be good around cats (at least one of ours anyway!), gets along with one of our other dogs and is good with people. We know he came from not a great situation, so he`ll need some TLC, patience and just a lot of love - but he`ll be so worth it!

Story
This sweet looking girl is Josie. When we say sweet that is truly an understatement for her personality. Josie knows no stranger and has done well with all the people she has been surrounded by since entering foster care. Adults, teenagers and young kids she will come right to them. She truly just wants to be with people who will give her rubs, talk kindly to her and let her be their lap companion. Josie does scare easily. Shes been known to go the opposite direction if approached too quickly in a manner she feels threatened by. She also loves to dart out the door behind you if you aren’t careful. With some ongoing training, consistency, and her learning to trust her new family we believe this will get better; until then it will be important to always take her out on a leash she can’t break free from. This girl loves to be outside to lay in the sun, roll in the grass or play with her foster siblings. She has been with a larger and a small dog and does well with both. She shares well, she can be sneaky if one of them has something she wants and will very casually walk by and grab it, but never in a mean way. And ever so gentle in accepting treats. We have been working on sit, no, off, and being okay in a kennel. She is getting there and continues to improve with each day. Obedience classes would be very helpful for her continued growth and confidence. Josie is estimated to be 2 years old and weighs about 30 pounds. If you’re interested in learning more, please fill out an adoption application on our website, foreverhomedogs.org.All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.
