Story
Meet Rowdy, a 2-year-old Collie mix with a playful spirit and a love for people. He’s incredibly affectionate and thrives on attention, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, fun-loving best friend. Rowdy already knows commands like sit and shake, is doing great with potty training, and is highly treat-motivated—so he’s eager to keep learning! He loves going on walks, playing with other dogs, and being part of the action. Rowdy would do best in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise and attention. He is not cat-friendly, so he’ll need a cat-free home. If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic dog who will bring a lot of joy (and a little bit of goofiness) into your life, Rowdy is ready to meet you! To meet him, go to waalrescue.org/adopt and fill out an application.

Story
Meet Ollie — a fun-loving, affectionate pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Ollie is kennel trained and potty trained, and he knows a variety of commands like sit, shake, kennel, outside, leave it, and more. He’s been raised around kids, babies, cats, and other animals, and he absolutely loves being part of the action. Whether it’s going for walks, riding in the car with the windows down, playing tug-of-war, or running around the yard with his people, Ollie is happiest when he’s having fun with you. He’s also a champion snuggler who will gladly curl up on the couch or in bed after a day of play. Ollie does have some quirks—he can be a bit anxious when left alone and may bark loudly or mark indoors while adjusting to a new environment, so a kennel is recommended when unsupervised at first. He also gets vocal when he plays (and even “sings” along to a harmonica!), but it’s all part of his playful charm. Ollie would do best with a patient home that can help him settle in and continue building good habits. In return, you’ll get a loyal, entertaining, and loving companion who’s always ready for the next adventure.

Story
A Soulful Heart and Floppy Ears: Meet Chief Chief is a gentle 20 lb Beagle mix who came to us from a hoarding situation in rural Missouri. At 1 year old, he is still learning what it means to live in a home, but his sweet nature shines through every day. He has a quiet, soulful presence and is looking for a patient family to help him continue his journey. Personality and Connection Chief is a sensitive boy who truly wants to be near his people. While he is still learning how to snuggle and initiate affection, he relaxes once you hold him. It’s his silent way of showing he finally feels safe and just wants to be loved. One of his most adorable features is his ears; they are constantly floppy or flipping upside down, perfectly matching his endearing personality. He is a work in progress who just needs a little more time to fully come out of his shell. Training and Progress He is an incredibly smart learner who is making great strides in his daily routine. He is learning to walk on a leash, though loud noises can still be startling. A fenced-in backyard is a must for him so he has a secure place to play and go potty while he builds his confidence. Because of his history, Chief is still mastering potty training and can have occasional accidents indoors. He may whimper a bit at night as he adjusts to his new space, but because he is so bright, these moments don't last long once he realizes he is safe. He needs a family that will offer gentle guidance and consistency as he settles in. Social Life and Play When he isn’t observing his surroundings, Chief is a fan of chew toys and bully sticks, which are a great way to keep him happily occupied and calm. He is very social and loves the company of other dogs. He has a playful, puppy-like energy but is naturally respectful and submissive around others. He finds a lot of confidence by following the lead of other dogs, so a home with a calm, friendly canine companion would be the best fit for him. The Ideal Match Chief would do best in a quiet, low-traffic household with a predictable routine. Because he is still finding his footing, a home with small children would likely be too overwhelming for him; he would prefer an adult-only home or one with older, calm teenagers. He would be a perfect match for someone who works from home or a retired couple who can be present to give him the reassurance and frequent potty breaks he needs. With a little time and a lot of love, Chief will be a deeply devoted companion. He just needs someone patient to give him that chance. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Are you an active person looking for the perfect mixture of nonstop fun and naptime? Fiona may be the girl for you! She loves other dogs and kids, but she still has lots of puppy energy so a dog who can match her willingness to play would be best! Fiona is only 28 pounds and shouldn't get much bigger at all. She loves car rides, working on her obedience training, walks, and wrestling with her foster brothers. She's a typical Beagle so she can be loud when she gets excited so probably no apartment living for this girl. She's working on potty and crate training and is doing well.
