Hi&#44 Im Denver. Im a four-year-old beagle mix&#44 and even though Ive got the long ears and soulful eyes of a hound&#44 my life hasnt always been as sweet as I am. I grew up in a puppy mill where people didnt spend much time being kind or patient with me&#44 so the world felt confusing and a little scary. But things are different now. Im finally safe&#44 and Im ready to discover what a real home feels like. Im a bit shy when I first meet someone new. Loud noises or quick movements can make me freeze&#44 but when someone speaks softly and reaches out with gentle hands&#44 I start to feel brave. Once I realize youre kind&#44 I begin to relax&#44 and youll see a tender&#44 curious boy who wants to trust and be part of a family (I would prefer to be the only dog- I get a bit overwhelmed by puppy pals). Im still learning how to navigate the world-how to feel confident&#44 how to enjoy new experiences&#44 how to let myself be silly. With a little socialization&#44 some patient training&#44 and an understanding family&#44 I know Ill bloom into the goofy&#44 baying beagle Ive always had tucked inside. LIFT University is a program for dogs to build confidence in new situations and work on managing energy. - I am a graduate of Waifs with Wisdom. In this program, I learned basic commands and leash walking skills. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - I’m a little shy—slow and steady wins the race with me.- Once I warm up, I`m a wiggly and affectionate goofball!- I LOVE my squeaky toys and stuffies!- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period.
