Story
It’s been an extremely hard decision to make, truly. He looks like a grumpy old man, but he’s extremely sweet and wants to follow me around and know where I’m at, at all times. He was originally owned by a woman who passed from medical issues and I adopted him and now I too have medical issues. It’s absolutely heartbreaking, because he deserves to get the attention he needs. He’s has a few accidents at home due to his age.

Story
Due to medical reasons I need to rehomed my beautiful, loving Gizmo. It breaks my heart but he deserves someone that can walk with and let him play outside in a yard. He needs some training with walking with a leash. He pulls a lot because he just wants to run and enjoy the outdoors. He is the biggest lover I have ever been around. Loves to cuddle Please help me find him a good loving home.

Story
Pet Location: Easter is currently living in a foster home. If you’d like to schedule a time to meet her, please contact Wayside Adoptions at (816) 986-4426.My friends at Wayside say:- I am a tripod. Even though I have three legs, I would love to run straight into your heart. - I’m a little shy—slow and steady wins the race with me.- I will do best with dogs who prefer to coexist. My home needs are:- Wayside recommends you bring your dog to meet me before adoption to ensure we can be buddies. - I must have a fenced-in yard since I am still learning to walk on leash.- I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. Hi there, I’m Easter! I’m calm and affectionate and possibly the sweetest dog you’ve ever met. That’s what my friends tell me anyway. My life hasn’t been an easy one, that’s for sure, but I’m resilient and forgiving. I just want to live a safe and peaceful life with people I love, that’s all. That’s enough for me. I hope that maybe you’re looking for a simple little dog to share your life with, and that you decide to choose me. I’m ready to be your dog!I’m a darling, 2-year-old, 35-pound Beagle mix, with soft, floppy ears, gentle, soulful eyes that turn bright and engaged once I know you’re my people, and an unassuming, easy-going, lovely personality. I’m already housebroken, but please stay patient with me if I have accidents now and then. I’m currently on a steroid drug for my heartworm treatment, so keeping a routine is difficult for now. Please keep me on a schedule and get me out for frequent breaks to help set me up for success. I was transferred to Wayside from a shelter in rural Texas that didn’t have space for me. One of my legs was amputated right before I arrived in KC, so I’m still getting used to that. And I’m recovering from heartworm treatment…and the move to a new state…and just being a shy little gal to start with. Whew, that’s a lot. With a little time and patience, I’ll be as good as new and all settled into my new life! Meanwhile, though, shelter living was feeling scary and lonely, so I was thrilled to be chosen to live in a foster home as I wait for you to find me! Foster Mom makes me feel special and important. Ah, that feels so nice.My foster parents understood from the start that I had been through a lot of change and instability in my short life, so they let me take things at my own pace, which has

Story
This dog is from a puppy mill situation. They will likely need time to adjust to home life. They have lived with many other dogs but have not experienced socialization with people and things like walking on a leash and doorways are challenging for many of them. Dogs from puppy mills can be difficult to housetrain, and adopters should be willing to be patient during this process. Crate training can be very helpful and also give the dog a safe place to call their own. It is also important to let them go at their own pace with building a relationship with their new family and limiting lots of commotion and visitors in the beginning is wise. They have not experienced life outside of the puppy mill, so things could be overwhelming for them at first. Patience and positive interactions are crucial. Aversive methods of training should be avoided. Puppy mill dogs are almost always treat motivated, so using that to build trust and teach new things is the way to go! Adopting a puppy mill dog can be extremely rewarding and the extra time needed to allow them to learn about life and love will be paid back in time!Hi there! I am a lovable little puppy! Even though I am cute as a button I will take some work as I adjust into my new home. Don`t get me wrong, we will have a lot of fun in the meantime but I will need time to understand what`s expected of me. I will need help on all those fun puppy things like house training and basic obedience. I want to learn everything I possibly can. I am pretty excited about life and doing new things! My goal is to be your lifelong companion and I should learn quickly with praise, treats, time and patience. I`d really love for us to get enrolled in training classes, after all school is the best way to get us both educated on what it takes to raise a puppy! It will be fun to watch me as I`m learning, after all puppies can be pretty silly. If you`re ready to take on all the fun and companionship, come on out to Wayside Waifs today!
