Maxie is 12 year old and was diagnosed with diabetes in November 2025. He is doing well on his insulin. He is blind do to the diabetes. He goes out to do his business, then goes back into his house and sleep. Maxie is a very sweet pup. I fell and broke my hip in September.That is why I am moving and not able to take him with me. I just want him to be cared for and loved.

With Other Dogs: Norma Jean enjoys being around other dogs when given time to meet them slowly. She has a confident personality and knows her boundaries, so she’s best matched with playful, easygoing dogs whose personalities complement hers—or dogs who are happy to give her space. Like many dogs, she prefers to eat separately. She has shown no resource guarding with humans. This beautiful purebred Beagle girl called Brittany is our pride and joy to offer to a Beagle loving family. Her story is sad and one that will make you sad and mad all rolled in to one roller coaster of emotions. A young newly wed couple were driving from their home in Chattanooga, on their way to a honeymoon in Nashville, TN. Out of the corner of their eye while driving, they saw a truck pulled over and pushing this girl out onto the side of the road and then drive away. They owned two dogs of their own and it broke their heart to see such meanness. She was in a desperate situation. They pulled over and took her in to their car and then started making calls to shelters and rescues in the Nashville area where they were destined to arrive in a few hours. They got Critter Cavalry on the phone and we stepped up to take her in immediately and we would make sure she had a future family who would never do such a horrible thing as to abandon her. What we have found out with Brittany is that she is a happy and inviting girl who loves to play with other dogs and who loves to spoken to with kindness. She craves love which we are sure she got little of before. Her fav game is to chase a ball. She is young as in probably a year or 2 at the oldest and she weighs 26 pounds. She is being spayed 10/23 and has already started her shots and worming. She is picture perfect if you want a Beagle or small dog that is not tiny but resilient and fun and loving. We know she loves couches and dog company for playtime and hanging out. She’s housebroken and will definitely need a fenced yard to keep that Beagle nose safely within sight of your back door.
