Story
Meet Flora!Flora is a 1 year old, Spayed Female, Beagle/German Shepherd mix.Flora is a gorgeous medium sized girl who came to us heavily pregnant. She gave birth the same day she came in and was an incredible mom! Now it's her turn to be the center of attention! Flora loves other dogs and we think she would want a fur buddy in her home. She will likely do best in a home without cats. She loves children and will do well in a family setting. Flora will need a 6 foot fence or to be leash walked in her forever home. Flora cannot wait to meet you and is desperately looking for a loving home. Visit our website to fill out the adoption application: https://bit.ly/HSofMacombadoptionapplicationIf your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day. We cannot place puppies/dogs on hold to come pick up for another day.All Humane Society of Macomb animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested and microchipped.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
Teddy is a loving 6½-year-old Beagle/English Bulldog mix I’ve had since he was 18 weeks old. Due to a recent divorce and working 10–16 hour days, I can no longer give him the time and attention he deserves. My priority is finding him a home where he can thrive. He’s healthy, in great shape, and his only past medical issue was an ear infection that has been fully resolved. His vaccinations are about six months overdue due to financial hardship following my divorce.Teddy is affectionate with people and does well with other animals. The only behavior to be aware of is food guarding. There have been two incidents over his lifetime where he reacted to another dog approaching his food bowl. Because of this, he should be fed separately from other pets or continue working on this behavior with training.I’d love to see him in a home with room to roam and someone who has the time to enjoy him. There is no adoption fee—I only want to find him a safe, loving, permanent home.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. URGENT: Ghost & Sophie Need a Soft Landing  Life can change in an instant. Unfortunately, it has for Ghost and Sophie. Their beloved owner is in failing health and can no longer care for them. Through no fault of their own, these two wonderful dogs are now searching for a safe place to land.  Ghost• Approximately 2 years old• Male Husky mix• Neutered• Up to date on vaccines• Handsome boy with one blue eye and one brown eye, and a heart that's just as unique.  Sophie• Shepherd/collieApproximately 2 years old• Spayed female• Up to date on vaccines• Sweet, affectionate, and always happy to be by your side. These two have been lifelong companions, and keeping them together would be a dream. However, their greatest need is simply loving, committed homes where they can be safe and cherished. They've already lost the only home they've ever known. Now they just need someone willing to give them a second chance. ❤️  If you are interested in fostering, adopting, or would like more information, please contact their caregiver directly at 248-882-0225.   illoyd71@gmail.com Please share this post far and wide. Story
Meet Indie! This 40-pound, one-year-old black mouth cur/beagle mix is as lovable as they come! She has been the most amazing mama to EIGHT puppies and is now looking for a home to call her own! Indie spent the last few months looking after her pups and she deserves the most wonderful family out there! She is house-trained and ready to impress. One flash of her adorable smile and Indie will have you hooked. She is curious, affectionate, and will happily take up residence on your lap for a belly rub. Indy may be a bit coy to begin, but it doesn't take long for this gentle girl to find her place by your side. She enjoys cruising the runs with her fellow kennel mates and would love a yard of her own to enjoy. She does enjoy chasing critters outside, so either a fenced-in yard or tie out will be required. Indie knows how to sit and takes her treats nicely. She will thrive in a home with continued training, daily exercise, and all the snuggles you can give her. She will be such a lovely companion in her forever home! Based on our evaluation, we feel Indie would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. She may have the ability to live in a home with other dogs and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! If you think Indie could be the gal for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for this cutie pie!
