Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Very sweet and well natured Beagle boy, active family a must.  For all of his beagleness he doesn't do the beagle things such as having his nose to the ground for scent following.  Not interested in typical beagle shenanigans, much more interested in being a spoiled pup cup drinking Prince :). Physical fence required. Dog selective.  No cats.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.   Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.   Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.   MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Without your donation, wonderful pets like these have to be passed by because we cannot afford their care.   If you would like to donate please send donation to: MMAR Box 180155 Utica, MI 48318   Donate online at https://www.sanilacscoopers.org/   Please email us at mmarpaws@gmail.com for additional information or to set up special appointments January 16, 2026, 9:29 pm

Story
Hanneman is a rescue dog approximately 10years old. Very well trained dog doesn't bark at almost anything listens very well and loves to follow and be around someone all the time. He has been a fantastic dog for the almost 7 years we have had him very loving and relaxed. Over the past year he has been getting grumbly with the other animals and we have very small children that he is very good around but he does get grumbly and stressed when laying down, he has not attacked in anyway he just doesn't care for them. Looking to rehome to an older person or couple with no other pets around so he can just be happy with his humans around. Its the only reason we are doing this so his remaining years are happy and stress free.

Story
Smores (Mo for short) is a very lovable 6 year old Beagle. He loves to sleep. He enjoys attention and being outside. A fenced in yard would be best. Not recommended for an apartment like setting. He has been raised with 2 children and is great with them. Loves food like all Beagles but does not get aggressive if someone is eating. You do have to watch what you leave laying around because he will try to get it. His nose is always working and he acts on it. He does get seasonal allergies with his skin but coconut oil and a low grain diet work best for him. No health issues. Crate, toys and all supplies will gladly be given with him. Looking for new home due to our living condition. Not able to have him anymore with our management company and moving is not an option for us.

Story
Meet Mumsy! SEE STRAYCATION UPDATE! ADORES OTHER DOGS! This darling three-year-old, 49-pound beagle mix will be quick to capture your heart with her endearing personality and lovely nature. Mumsy was found abandoned and malnourished, taking care of her litter of pups. Being the amazing mama she is, she kept her babies safe and all of them have now been adopted. Now its her turn to find the family of her dreams-one that will truly treasure her and show her how wonderful life can be! Mumsy had some time away from the kennel for the holidays and we can't wait to share all we've learned about her! She is a pup that thrives with other dogs! They bring her comfort and we feel she'd do best in a home with another affectionate dog. As you can see from her pics, she adores other pups and we promised we'd find her a wonderful fur sibling for her! She shares her toys very well too! Speaking of toys, Mumsy loves all sort of them! She's also fond of all types of treats. She has spent time with a cat and while interested, we feel she does have the potential to live with a dog-savvy feline. Mumsy does very well on leash and also good in the car. She seems to enjoy her time outside and a yard for her to enjoy is a must for her. We don't think she knows her name, but has good recall when you call her. Mumsy is the definition of a submissive sweetheart! She can be timid with new people initially, but once she feels comfortable, she's a total lover girl. At the end of the day, she sleeps quietly throughout the night in her crate in her foster mom's bedroom. She's on her way to being fully house-trained and we think she'll have it down in no time. With patience and encouragement, we know Mumsy will continue to build her confidence and she's going to bring so much joy to one lucky family. Mumsy is a pup that would do best in a home where she can be part of the daily activities or where someone is home to keep her company. She's happiest when she can be where you are. Can't think of a better way to spend your time than cuddling with this cutie pie! Based on our evaluation, we feel Mumsy would do best in an active, but predictable home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. We feel she has the capacity to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! If you want to be the one give Mumsy the life she deserves, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for this delightful girl!

Story
Meet Charlie! Charlie is HIGHLY STRESSED being at the kennel and we are looking for a foster for him! HOUSE-TRAINED, CRATE-TRAINED AND LOVES OTHER PUPS! This 32-pound, two-year-old beagle mix can be found grinning from ear to ear anytime of day! Charlie enjoyed a few days away from the kennel and was a wonderful house guest. We are excited to share all we learned about him! House-trained and crate-trained, this boy is ready to impress. He hung out with another canine companion in his foster home and two of them really hit it off! Charlie is a huge fan of playing fetch and also playing hide and seek with his toys. Speaking of toys, this boy loves them all and shared them nicely with his foster fur sister! When it comes to treats, Charlie isn't picky! He loves all sorts of tasty morsels you'd like to share with him. He is very food-motivated and a slow feeder bowl would be best for him along with work on impulse control around food. Good in the car and on leash, he's ready to join you on all of your adventures. Charlie is an affectionate fellow and a total lover boy! At the end of the day, he sleeps quietly through the night. As he is still a young man, Charlie will benefit from continued training, daily exercise, and lots of playtime in his new home. He'll thrive in a home when he can be part of the action and will make one lucky family very happy for many years to come! We are looking for a family with beagle experience that is committed to working with Charlie on training and making sure he gets the engagement he needs. Based on our evaluation, we feel Charlie would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. He may have the capacity to live in a home with other dogs and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! Charlie must go to a home free of cats or small animals. If you think he could be the pup for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our charming Charlie!

Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This boy was brought in with his mom and siblings. She is a beagle/lab mix but we aren't sure about the dad. Bowie is a friendly, playful and happy pup! He likes people and has no issue with strangers. He gets along with other pups and has done well in a crate. He knows how to use a dog door but will need puppy training. He is a great boy ready for his new home.
