Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Very sweet and well natured Beagle boy, active family a must.  For all of his beagleness he doesn't do the beagle things such as having his nose to the ground for scent following.  Not interested in typical beagle shenanigans, much more interested in being a spoiled pup cup drinking Prince :). Physical fence required. Dog selective.  No cats.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.   Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.   Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.   MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Without your donation, wonderful pets like these have to be passed by because we cannot afford their care.   If you would like to donate please send donation to: MMAR Box 180155 Utica, MI 48318   Donate online at https://www.sanilacscoopers.org/   Please email us at mmarpaws@gmail.com for additional information or to set up special appointments January 10, 2026, 5:22 pm

Story
Hanneman is a rescue dog approximately 10years old. Very well trained dog doesn't bark at almost anything listens very well and loves to follow and be around someone all the time. He has been a fantastic dog for the almost 7 years we have had him very loving and relaxed. Over the past year he has been getting grumbly with the other animals we have very small children, he has not attacked in anyway he just doesn't care for them. Looking to rehome to an older person or couple with no other pets around so he can just be happy with his humans around. Its the only reason we are doing this so his remaining years are happy and stress free.

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Hubert is dreamy, the way he looks at you! This handsome pup is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 41 pounds. Meet Hubert, a sweet boy with the waggiest tail! His cute and curious nature will win your heart, and his big, soft eyes will melt any worries away. Even though we fear he may have been left outside a lot based on how bad the fly bite scars were on his ears, Hubert is still so connecting with a playful spirit and a silly side that's so fun to watch, especially when you get the toys out! His ears look so much better now too with all the love and care he is getting. He is looking for a leader to help build his confidence and an active family who likes to go for walks, play or maybe go on fun adventures, Hubert would love that! Could you be the one to give this adorable boy the happiness he deserves, with an actual home to be inside and cuddling with his forever family? Hubert would like it if you came to meet him, he can’t wait for a family to love. He will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old. Hubert seems very drawn to school age kids. He has a cute, full, loose body wag and is very engaged with them. He was our representative for a PEAS (Pan Equus Animal Sanctuary) event, they are just down the street from us and he did great! Hubert was open and friendly to visitors of all ages, we were so proud of him! If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Hubert would love to meet them. He has a bouncy, loose approach with other dogs with an "all in" play style. If you are interested in Hubert and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.* *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying.
