Howdy from our handsome little swamp frog, Leroy! Give this guy a mud puddle to flop down in and he’s living his best life.Leroy is an older boy with a stubborn streak and plenty of personality to match. He’ll need a family that can set clear boundaries, especially when it comes to sneaking human food or handling his collar, which makes him uncomfortable. Because of this, we’re looking for a home with older teens or adults only.Despite his quirks, Leroy has a big fan club among our volunteers. He’s the kind of dog who forms strong bonds with his people and just needs someone patient, confident, and just as headstrong as he is to help him work through his food aggression and collar sensitivity.The good news? Leroy is open to meeting other dogs and even passed his cat test here at the pound!If you think you might be the right match for this muddy, bullheaded sweetheart, please stop by and spend some time with him. We’re more than happy to let you visit with Leroy as many times as it takes.

Meet Mama June! June is 4 years old! She arrived to our facility in May very PREGNANT! June got into a foster home and had her babies June 5th, 2026. June LOVES kids! She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home and has not yet been cat tested! June is very easy to bribe with food. She does have food aggression towards other dogs and will need to eat in her crate though. She is fully crate trained but still has some accidents in the home occasionally. June is a snuggle bug and loves to sleep under blankets on the couch! We are going to start accepting applications for June, and then setting up the meet and greet as foster mom will be letting her recover from her spay in her home! We are hoping to find June the BEST home where she will be spoiled for the rest of her life. June is starting to learn how to be a dog and we hope that she can continue to blossom into the sweetest bestest girl we know she is! NO MORE PUPPIES FOR JUNE! Let’s share and find her the BEST home!

Chonky is a 6 year old beagle/boxer mix. He is a couch potato, and would love nothing more than to curl up and snuggle all day. He loves to be around people, and will follow you through the house for “moral support.” He has lived with other dogs before, but seems to do best with low energy dogs that give him his personal space. He does not like to be jumped on or wrestled with. He doesn’t do well with cats, but has lived around Guinea pigs and ferrets and seemed very unbothered/disinterested by them. He is a very sweet, loving dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side. Has been around kids his whole life and loves them. A little shy at first, but once he warms up to you he will be your best friend.

Pheneias was found as a stray in Southern Ohio. He is a sweet little boy with a wonderful disposition. He is good with other dogs and cats and loves all people. He looks like a beagle mix and has very soft fur. Pheneias is young, probably around 8-9 months old. He weighs about 25 lbs and will not grow much bigger.Pheneias has a severe overbite. He eats from a raised bowl and prefers soft treats. That's it!! Pheneias is a little dog with special needs. However, it does'nt stop him from being the sweetest and most playful fur baby.He loves other dogs...especially the tiny ones. Pheneas is a little goofball and we know whoever adopts him will be blessed with him in their life.Pheneias needs a foster or foster to adopt in the Columbus area so we can complete his vetting. He still needs some vaccinations and to be neutered but he has not shown any marking behavior in our intake foster's home. He is crate trained and not yet 100% house trained.Apply to foster this sweet boy at ricopetrecovery.org.
