Meet Dottie!Dottie is an adorable 8-month-old Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog mix with a gorgeous merle coat, soulful brown eyes and the sweetest face. At only about 20 pounds, she’s a petite pup, and we don’t expect her to get much bigger.Dottie came to Canine Collective with her sister Sage, and the girls have a great time together. They love to play and romp around and are equally happy curling up for a nap when playtime is over.Of the two sisters, Dottie is the more outgoing social butterfly. At a recent adoption event, she happily approached people for attention and was perfectly comfortable being petted and picked up by new friends. She also did great playing with another puppy in the enclosed event area.And Dottie has already discovered one of life's great pleasures: treats! This food-motivated little girl will even pop up and balance on her hind legs when there's a tasty reward involved. That enthusiasm for treats should come in handy as she continues learning all the things a young dog needs to know.Dottie rides nicely in a crate in the car, although getting in and out can still be a little intimidating for her. She’s also new to leash walking and will need some patient practice as she gets the hang of it. Meet Sage! 🌿Sage is a sweet 8-month-old Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog mix with a gorgeous merle coat and soulful brown eyes. At only about 20 pounds, she’s a petite pup, and we don’t expect her to get much bigger.Sage came to Canine Collective with her sister Dottie, and the two have been enjoying life together while they wait for their new homes. They love to play and romp around, but when playtime is over, they’re just as happy curling up together for a nap.Sage has now joined us at several adoption events, and we’ve learned quite a bit about this gentle girl. New places can be a little intimidating at first, and Sage likes to take her time, watch what’s going on and figure things out. Give her that time, though, and you’ll see her start to relax and come out of her shell. She has greeted visitors nicely, happily accepted pets and belly rubs, and has been a quiet, well-behaved event guest.Other dogs really bring out Sage’s playful side. She may be hanging back quietly one minute, but when another dog invites her to play, she perks right up and is ready to join the fun. A friendly, confident canine companion could be a wonderful bonus in her new home.Sage is still getting the hang of leash walking and sometimes needs a little patience and encouragement, but she’s making progress. She rides nicely crated in the car and has been wonderfully quiet during her outings.Sage is still a youngster with plenty of playful puppy energy and lots left to learn. Chonky is a 6 year old beagle/boxer mix. He is a couch potato, and would love nothing more than to curl up and snuggle all day. He loves to be around people, and will follow you through the house for “moral support.” He has lived with other dogs before, but seems to do best with low energy dogs that give him his personal space. He does not like to be jumped on or wrestled with. He doesn’t do well with cats, but has lived around Guinea pigs and ferrets and seemed very unbothered/disinterested by them. He is a very sweet, loving dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side. Has been around kids his whole life and loves them. A little shy at first, but once he warms up to you he will be your best friend.

Elliot will be 12 in November and has been part of our family along with her sister since they were 14 weeks old. Elliot is a gentle 30lb girl. She loves going for walks and running outside. She loves being pet and cuddling up next to you. She is quite protective and will alert if anyone enters the home/yard, she welcomes people kindly but with caution. Elliot loves playing with her sister and is fine around other animals but generally prefers to keep to herself. She is good with children. We love her very much and this is a hard decision to come to, but we have entered a different season of life as we now have three young children and are having a fourth child this summer - between my husband and I both having full time jobs and parenting we are no longer able to give them the love and attention they deserve. We are hoping they will find a loving home to ideally take them on together as they have been lifelong besties.
