RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

Story
JONES is a fun-loving extra handsome beagle boy in need of a home. He is everything a beagle should be -- handsome, food motivated, playful, food motivated, friendly, food motivated, good with other dogs, food motivated. Well, you get the picture, he's a typical silly little beagle. He's about 3 years old and fully grown at 27 pounds. He's good with other dogs, loves his toys and craves attention. Jones is housebroken and crate trained. He needs a home with a physically fenced yard so he can run and romp but can't follow his beagle nose into trouble. He would love to have a fur sibling who matches his silliness. If you'd like to meet Jones, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Jones at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Story
MERRY (female, 28 lbs), TINSEL (female, 28 lbs) and KRINGLE (male, 30 lbs) are looking for new homes! They are young siblings, probably 10-12 months old and fully grown. They are fun and affectionate. They love to play and love to meet new people. Merry and Tinsel are more energetic, Kringle is a bit more laid back. These three cuties have never known life as an only dog and are best suited to homes with another friendly dog. They each need a little work on their manners but they will do ANYTHING for a treat, so they should be fun to train. Their breed mix is anyone's best guess, they are Heinz 57 varieties-type mixed breed pups. We'll guess some beagle, some lab and probably 10 other breeds. Merry, TInsel and Kringle are best suited to homes with physically-fenced yards. If you'd like to meet one of these cuties, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet them at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. Story
TINSEL is a fun and affectionate young mixed breed girl looking for a home. She's beautiful, playful and eager to please. Tinsel is right around 1 year old, give or take a month and fully grown at 29 pounds, a perfect small/medium size. Her breed mix is a mystery, we're guessing some type of beagle/lab mix. Tinsel's happy place is running and romping in the yard with other dogs or cuddled up with her human besties. She came to the rescue with her siblings Kringle and Merry. She's unaccustomed to life as an only dog and is best suited to home where she will have a playful dog sibling. Tinsel is a sitter, not a setter, a sitter. Whenever we try to take photos she puts herself into a sit trying to figure out what she needs to do to get a treat. She also loves to roll over for a nice belly rub. Tinsel is housebroken and crate trained. She's curious about cats and does try to play with kitty in her foster home. Tinsel is in active girl best suited to a home with a physically fenced yard and a well-stocked toy box. She has a low-maintenance short red coat and a bobbed tail. If you'd like to meet Tinsel please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can Tinsel at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED! Meet PATSY PUGGLE, a sweet, gentle timid girl looking for a home. Patsy Puggle has been a months-long project for her foster mom. She came to the rescue a terrified mess. She was a stray dog who gave birth to puppies. She had to be trapped in order to be captured along with her pups. We were told that a rescue agreed to take the puppies, but wouldn't take mama because she was so terrified. It's been a journey getting Patsy ready for a home, but she's finally ready! Patsy Puggle is a puggle (pug/beagle)-type mixed breed girl, 5ish years old and fully grown at 25 pounds. Patsy needs a quiet home with a patient adopter who will help build her confidence. Patsy Puggle needs a well-balanced dog sibling to help her navigate life. She adores her confident foster sister. She MUST have a fur sibling, no exceptions. Patsy Puggle needs a secure, physically fenced yard to keep her safe. Patsy Puggle is housebroken, crate trained and dog and cat friendly. She is not a suitable dog for a first-time pet parent. If you would like to meet Patsy Puggle, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter.
