Hello. This is my very sweet dog, Stella. She is a spayed, female Beagle. She is approximately 4 years old. She is a very anxious dog and often fearful, especially around men. I believe she has experienced trauma based on her anxiety and level of fear. She takes Trazadone and Gabapentin at night to help with anxiety, which is helpful. She showed up 2 years ago at my home in the country. I believe she was dumped. I have 2 small older dogs and 4 cats. She is great with the cats and 1 dog. However, she does not get along with 1 of my dogs. She has attacked her 3 times. She has done great with dogs while boarded. Trying ro find her a new home is incredibly difficult because I love her very much. However, I know its the right and compassionate decision. I think she would do best being the only dog in the home. She is very healthy but has idiopathic seizures, less than 1 per month. She is current on vaccinations, gets monthly flea, tick, and hw prevention, and regular veterinary care. TY.

Hello! My name is Boone and I have been at the shelter since 2024. I am considered a senior, but don't let that fool you- I can still get going when I want to! I love to play chase or fetch in the run, and my favorite thing of all is a walk. I do very well on the leash and have excellent manners. I know when it's time to settle down, though, and on those days you can find me stretched out (and snoring) on my nice bed. I can run and play when I want to get silly, but I am still older, and due to my age, I would like a home without younger kids. Maybe we could be retirement buddies? My favorite toys are squeaky balls and stuffed squeaky toys- although the stuffed squeaky toys never seem to last long around me. My favorite enrichment is the stuffed cardboard boxes and paper towel rolls. I have been to lots of events and places in my time here and am always a superstar. I love meeting people and do well in the car too. I'm ready to hop in one and ride away from here! I am very affectionate, too, I like belly rubs and like to lean against you. I am a "people person" and have never met a stranger! I'll get right in your lap and enjoy cuddles. When it comes to other dogs, though, I like things my way and I'm old enough that I've earned the right not to share! I don't like it when other dogs get in my personal space- after all, who likes a stranger in their face? I would like to have a place - and a person- that's all my own.

Available for adoption at: Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center 1854 East Pike, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 740-453-0273 Open Tues-F 11-5, Saturday 11-4, Sunday 10-3. Closed on Monday. Adoption fee is $130 which includes spay/neuter, combo, rabies, and bordetella vaccines, heartworm test and dog license. (Although some of the dogs come to the pound spayed or neutered, most do not. If you adopt a dog that has not yet been spayed/neutered, we will set up an appointment for the dog to be spayed/neutered before it can leave the facility.

Miss Baylen came to DASH with several other dogs where the home they were in were sending them to a high kill shelter in KY. This little girl is just the sweetest most loving dog you can imagine. All she wants is to be loved on and be the center of attention. She is young and due to the situation she came from, she is working on crate training, going potty outside and learning what a leash is. Her new family will need to continue working with her on these things. She is crated during the day while her foster mom is at work, as she will be nosey and get into things and tear up things in typical puppy fashion. She gets an activity ball and mat while in her crate along with a chew bone to keep her happy. She loves the other dogs in her foster home and loves being out in the fenced in back yard doing zoomies from one end to the other and getting the other younger dogs in on the fun! This girl is also very intelligent and training her should be a breeze once she gets all of her excess energy out. She also loves to chill on a lap or the couch and just being with her person. She has not been kid or cat tested, but feel she would be fine with kids with proper introductions. She is ready to find her forever home where she can continue to blossom into a wonderful dog!
