Story
Little Peach is eager to find her furrever home. Peach came in with 3 other dogs and seems to do well with all of them. This little girl loves to cuddle and run around the yard. Peach can be timid when first meeting her but once she gains your trust, she doesn't leave your side. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Peach home. If you are interested in meeting with Peach, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hello there! I am Dion and my foster mom calls me a “Lady’s Man” because I am gorgeous, and I tend to gravitate towards women. I wish I could explain why certain men scare me, but I have not been able to find the words yet. I really just need some space to warm up to new people in general. Once I decompress, I like to cuddle with you a bit and be your hang-out buddy.  I enjoy nightly walks and playing in the backyard with my foster siblings. I am great with other dogs but have not been around cats for any extended period. I have done well with the kids I have met at adoption events. It just kind of weirds me out when they come running at me randomly on our walks. So please tell the little ones to slow down so I don't get scared and run from them! I would not mind saying hi. I really do like car rides, I just need to work up the courage to get in first. Like most, I am food-motivated and love my treats. I am a healthy eater... I love carrots , broccoli, and cauliflower. Oh....And popcorn, but who doesn't like popcorn?  I go willingly into my crate, as long as I get a treat or two. (yes, I take bribes) I am crate-trained and potty-trained. I really am a good, sweet boy who deserves a chance at a normal life. I would love to meet you and become a part of your family. Apply for me today * Note: Dion is part of our Foster to Adopt program. Apply now if you are interested in testing how he would acclimate in your home* Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2024, 6:24 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing Buggs! **True Rescue Heart Needed**   This special little boy needs a special owner. He has been around the block a time or two looking for the person who can be patient and see him through his troubles and imperfections. Everyone who has been around Buggs agrees that he is a sweet, handsome boy who loves to cuddle. We don't know what his past life truly looked like, other than he lived his life outside with little attention and has been let down by humans repeatedly. Yet he still craves to be near them. Some of the reasons people have given up on him include that he likes to chew quite a bit and can still have accidents in the house. However, he is currently in the DASH prison training program working on his basic house manners. Like many of us… sometimes he uses his manners, sometimes he doesn’t. He will likely do what you want for a treat! Buggs can be picky about who his friends are but has done well with dogs in his program. With proper introductions, Buggs is willing to make new friends but may be happier as the only companion. The last time he saw a cat, he got overly excited, so cat testing may be in order, as it has been a long time since he has been around kitties. Thus far, Buggs has not been kid-tested. It is time for this special gentleman to be in a home where he knows he is warm, loved, and safe. He loves to be with his humans and would make a great companion for that special someone with a true rescuer’s heart!  He needs to find the person who will not give up on him.   If you'd like to set a meet & greet, Apply today!!  If you're interested in adoption, the first step in our adoption process is to submit an online application from our website, www.dashanimalrescue.org Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2024, 6:24 pm

Story
RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.
