Story
Gus Born: August 15, 2025 Fostered in North Bay, ON Adoption Fee: $700 UTD on vaccines, neutered & microchipped Beagle/Lab/Shep mix (our best guess) Gus is a sweet, silly, and fun-loving pup with a heart of gold and a playful spirit to match! He loves games like keep-away, tug, and full-on puppy horsing around with his foster sister. He’s happiest when he’s playing, learning, or soaking up time with his people. At Home: Gus is doing really well with his house training and has very minimal accidents. He’s learning his boundaries beautifully with the resident cats and continues to improve every day. He is respectful of the young children. He would thrive in a home with a younger, active dog to match his energy and play style. Mealtime Manners: Gus is very food motivated and uses a slow feeder so he doesn’t inhale his meals. He prefers to eat in his own space without other animals around. He’s respectful of his foster sister’s food and won’t steal — he patiently waits until she walks away! Training & Crate Life: Gus is still learning leash skills and does pull while walking, so continued training will help him shine. He does best in his crate with minimal items, as he tends to destroy puppy pads or towels if they’re present. Since removing them, he’s had no accidents in his crate. He may whine initially, but a food-dispensing toy with small treats has helped make crate time a positive experience. Personality: Gus has an absolutely wonderful personality — affectionate, goofy, and eager to learn. With continued structure, training, and an active companion, he will make an amazing addition to the right home. If you’re looking for a playful, loving pup who’s ready to grow alongside you, Gus might just be your perfect match

Story
Charlie Beagle Senior   Charlie is a 35 pound, 9 year old, neutered Beagle who was recently surrendered to the rescue when his family was moving out of the country.  He is described as a cuddly, affectionate dog who enjoys other dogs and is currently sharing a foster home with another Beagle.  True to his Beagley nature, he is a foodie and will steal food if given the opportunity.  His previous family even indicated he knew how to move chairs to get food off the table!!  Also, in typical Beagle fashion, he can be vocal and may howl or whine when anxious.  He may also bark when he sees other dogs and be eager to interact with them.  Despite being a senior, he is an active, energetic boy.  He is not crated trained and likes to sleep in his little bed or on the furniture.  Charlie's ideal home would have a fenced yard or be willing to take him out multiple times a day on leash walks to explore and do his business.  His previous home indicated he was good with cats and children but we have not seen him interact with either.   A home where someone is home more often than not, would best suit Charlie.  His prior home left him alone and indicated he would bark initially when left alone.  He will follow his nose and need to be in a fenced area when offleash.  February 8, 2026, 9:11 am
