Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Mignon Age: 2 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Beagle Corgi mix Color: White, Beige Weight: 9kg / 19.8lbs Microchipped, All Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a neglectful situation where I wasn’t receiving the love and care every dog deserves. Thankfully, I was given a second chance and brought somewhere safe where I could finally begin experiencing kindness, comfort, and proper care. Despite everything I’ve been through, I haven’t let my past dim my spirit. I’m ready to leave those difficult days behind and begin a brand new chapter with a family who will cherish me, protect me, and show me just how wonderful life can be.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Volunteers and staff are always complimenting me on my beautiful smile and say it’s one of the first things they notice about me! I can be a little shy when we first meet, but give me a little time and I open up quickly. Once I feel comfortable, my sweet and playful personality starts to shine through. One of my favourite things is playing with my ball, and I’m always happy to have a little fun with my favourite toy. When it comes to treats, I’m in no rush. I like to take my time and savour every bite. Between my gorgeous smile, gentle personality, and playful side, I have plenty of little qualities that make me easy to fall in love with.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy when we first meet, but I open up quickly with some gentle attention, tasty treats, and a few reassuring pets. Once I realize you want to be my friend, I’m happy to accept affection and let my sweet personality come through. I’m also comfortable around men and actually seem to really enjoy their company! I happily accept attention from both men and women, and once I’m comfortable, I don’t mind being picked up and held either. Give me a little time to say hello, and it won’t be long before we’re friends. · With Dogs: I like greeting new dogs and am happy to make new canine friends, but I don’t usually jump straight into play. I prefer taking things at my own pace and am often perfectly content doing my own thing. High energy or overly playful dogs can sometimes feel a little overwhelming for me, so I’m most comfortable around calm and respectful canine friends who understand my boundaries. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is currently unknown, but a cat test can be arranged upon request to help ensure the best match for my future home. During walks, I sometimes notice cats and watch them with curiosity, but I quickly lose interest and happily continue on my way.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I can sometimes pull on leash when I’m excited or curious, but I follow my handler’s lead nicely and am continuing to work on my walking manners. I also have great manners around food and don’t guard my meals or treats from either people or other dogs. I’m generally a quiet girl who rarely barks, and I already know how to settle and rest calmly in my kennel. For potty habits, I currently go both indoors using pee pads and outdoors. Because I prefer a calmer environment and can feel overwhelmed by high energy dogs, I would likely thrive as the only dog in my forever home where I can enjoy all the love and attention for myself. I could also do well with a calm, respectful canine sibling who understands my boundaries and is happy to give me space when I need it.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a sweet and affectionate girl with an adorable look that the volunteers and staff say is even cuter in person! With my little short legs, big expressive ears, and the prettiest, happiest smile, I have a special charm that’s hard to capture in photos. My smile especially has become one of my signature features and always seems to brighten the day of everyone around me. I may seem a little shy when we first meet, but it doesn’t take me long to open up. Give me some gentle attention, a few pets, and a tasty treat, and you’ll quickly see my loving personality come through. I also enjoy getting out for walks and follow my handler’s lead nicely, making me a lovely little companion to explore the world with. I’m happiest in a calm environment where I can feel safe, loved, and comfortable being myself. Once I know I can trust you, I have so much sweetness and affection waiting to share. I’m ready for a family who will fall in love with my happy smile and cherish the gentle girl behind it even more.   MIGNON'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2830466##

Story
Miss Petunia's journey hasn't been an easy one. When she first arrived, she was battling multiple medical issues that left her uncomfortable, exhausted, and in need of a great deal of care. Through it all, she never gave up. Day by day, she fought her way back to health with quiet determination, showing everyone around her just how resilient and special she truly is. Today, Miss Petunia is a happy, loving girl who embraces life exactly as she is. Most of her fur has grown back, though she may always have a few uniquely bare spots that tell the story of everything she has overcome. Those little imperfections only make her more beautiful to the people who know and love her. Her ears deserve a special mention. When she shakes her head, they flap with such enthusiasm that it sounds like a tiny helicopter preparing for takeoff. It never fails to bring a smile to your face and has become one of her many charming trademarks. Miss Petunia is also a firm believer that mornings are meant to be enjoyed slowly. She loves her sleep and has perfected the art of taking her time. While others may rush through the day, Miss Petunia prefers a gentler pace and reminds us that not everything needs to happen right away. Like any proud Beagle, she has plenty to say. When she's excited, happy, or wants to share an opinion, she'll let out a howl that could rival a fire truck siren. It's all part of her personality and one of the many reasons she's impossible not to love. What truly makes Miss Petunia special, though, is the depth of her affection. Once she trusts you, she'll gently rest her head in your hand, close her eyes, and completely melt into your touch. Those quiet moments reveal the sweet soul behind her funny quirks and remind you just how grateful she is for love and kindness. She isn't demanding or clingy. Instead, she enjoys simply being near her people. Whether she's curled up nearby, following you from room to room, or stopping by for a brief cuddle before moving on to her next adventure, she finds comfort in being part of the family. Miss Petunia gets along well with other dogs and enjoys occasional play sessions, but she doesn't need a canine companion to be happy. She would do just as well soaking up all the love and attention as the only dog in the home. Miss Petunia isn't looking for perfection. She's looking for a family that will cherish her exactly as she is-a survivor with a heart full of love, a sense of humor all her own, and a gentle spirit that shines through every day. After everything she's overcome, she deserves a home where she can spend her golden years feeling safe, adored, and part of a family. If you're looking for a dog whose story is one of resilience, loyalty, and unconditional love, Miss Petunia may be the missing piece you've been searching for. Born into an overcrowded shelter housing more than 1,600 dogs, he spent the first four years of his life waiting for a chance at something better. With so many dogs needing care, he was sadly overlooked—not because of who he was, but because there simply weren't enough resources or attention for every dog. Everything changed in early 2024 when one of our directors met Youngsil during a visit to the shelter. Knowing he deserved a brighter future, she brought him to Canada, where he has been thriving with a loving foster family ever since. Meet Youngsil – Our Brave Boy 💛 Youngsil is smart, brave, loyal, affectionate, and incredibly intelligent. He's one of the brightest dogs Eight Paws has ever rescued—which makes it all the more surprising that he is still waiting for his forever home. Over the past two years, Youngsil has made remarkable progress. He has learned to trust, enjoys life with his foster family, and has shown just how loving and devoted he can be once he feels safe. Why is Youngsil still waiting? The truth is, Youngsil has received very few adoption applications. We're not entirely sure why. Everyone who meets him in person comments on how much more handsome and charming he is than his photos suggest. We also believe in being completely honest about the challenges that come with adopting a rescue dog. Youngsil can become extremely anxious during major life changes or unfamiliar situations. In those moments, he may have an anxiety-related poop accident. Once he settles into a consistent routine and builds trust with his family, this has not been an ongoing issue in his foster home. Youngsil also has a bite history. The incident (only once) occurred when he was feeling very scared and overwhelmed before trust had been established. You have to give him space when he doesn’t feel safe. All dogs bite when they’re cornered and fearful. Because of his intelligence and sensitivity, Youngsil needs an experienced adopter—ideally someone who has worked with rescue dogs or anxious dogs before. He isn't the type of dog who will trust a stranger overnight. But once you earn his trust, he forms an incredibly deep bond and is affectionate, loyal, and eager to be by your side. To help make his transition into a new home as smooth as possible, Youngsil will go home with a six-month supply of anti-anxiety medication. He is not currently taking anxiety medication in his foster home, but we want his adopter to have this support available during the adjustment period to help reduce stress and set him up for success. Youngsil has already overcome so much in his life. Now he's simply looking for someone who will give him the time and patience to feel safe. In return, you'll gain a devoted companion whose love and loyalty are truly unforgettable. We know the right person is out there. We hope they'll see beyond his past and recognize the incredible dog waiting for his forever home.
