It's adorable & adoptable: Fizz. We know what you’re thinking: Lady, that’s a beagle. Au contraire, mon frere. Fizz is a BEAGALIER. His mama is a king charles cavalier and his pops was a beagle (according to his DNA test) Now, exactly how much spaniel is actually in there? It’s in his eyes and cute little tufts on his ears. He’s beagle-sized, beagle-mouthed and beagle-smart. He is sassy, confident and always has been. He’s got an AH-ROOO bark that’ll have you saying “ah yes, that’s a hound dog” as soon as you hear it, but luckily he’s not too much of a yapper. He is, however, six months old which means he gets excited about many things: Food, toys, squirrels, falling leaves that seem like they might attack, you know, that sort of thing. If you’re smart about smart puppies, you know that the best thing in the world you can do is give them lots of enrichment and appropriate things for them to gnaw on while they’re getting all their adult teeth in (his are almost all in!). Fizz loves to snuggle and wants to be as close up on your lap as possible. He also gets along with other dogs, though his idea of making them play with him can feel a little IN YOUR FACE if they’re not into that sort of thing. All in all, Fizz is a great pup and fun guy. From her foster: Java is an affectionate girl who is always by your side with a toy. She is ready to to learn and play with a forever family. She has a little foster brother (10lb) and a bigger (50lb) sister and she is comfortable with both of them, taking corrections and being playful. She loves toys of all kinds!Her standout feature is her long tongue which barely even fits in her mouth. It’s usually poking out when she’s sleeping or hanging when she’s hot - and of course she gives great kisses! She’d be a great companion for any prospective adopter.Java is a sweet, playful girl who may need just a moment to get comfortable before her personality comes shining through. Shelter staff describe her as shy at first, but quick to warm up, friendly, and very sweet.Java has also shown lovely social skills with other dogs. During her shelter playgroup evaluation, she entered a little uncertain with her tail tucked, but quickly relaxed and began playing with another dog. When a more enthusiastic dog became too pushy, Java communicated appropriately and handled the situation well. She was paired with a doggy roommate, and may be a great candidate for a home with a well-matched canine companion. Ask shelter staff about scheduling a meet-and-greet with your resident dogs to make sure it’s a good fit!If you enjoy watching a shy pup gain confidence and reveal her silly, playful side, Java may be exactly the kind of dog who steals your heart.
