Story
Meet APPLE FRITTER! Currently located in AUSTIN TX What could be more perfect than a senior beagle?! Just look at this perfection! At 14 years old, she was surrendered to a high kill shelter after her owner passed away. We rallied to save her, and every volunteer who meets her falls in love. Apple’s foster says she is the perfect girl with so much life in her. She is crate trained, loves people and dogs and cats, and walks lovely on a leash. She loves stuffed toys and doggie buddies. Apple received a thorough work-up at our vet and is in good health given her age. She is hard of hearing but otherwise does not have any major concerns. The vet thinks she has golden years ahead of her!

Story
Meet Vincent — the big-hearted boy who is learning to trust. Vincent is sweet, expressive dog who has made tremendous progress over the last couple months. When he first arrived, we honestly wondered if he might have been feral- he didn’t seem to understand people, routines, or what a home was supposed to feel like. But during his recent professional training session, we learned something incredibly important: Vincent is not feral. He is simply fearful- this means he can learn, grow, and connect with patience as he learns to trust. This small shift in understanding makes a huge difference. What Vincent has learned so far: * He has started to build confidence and is recovering from fear much faster than before. * he’s learning that humans can be safe, predictable, and even fun. * he now practices short car rides, wears his harness comfortably, and is slowly becoming more confident about exploring new spaces. * potty training is going great! * he is quiet in his crate. * his personality- he really Vincent- is starting to shine through— His personality? It’s amazing! Vincent is loud and LOVES to use his voice. He’s incredibly playful and has the cutest quirk: when he’s excited or showing off he flashes this awesome toothy grin that makes everyone laugh. He loves other dogs and comes alive while playing with them. Who Vincent is hoping to find: Once Vincent has decided you’re safe, he is deeply affectionate, goofy, and so eager to connect with. He’s the kind of dog who will bond hard with his personal- the kind who makes every bit of effort feel worth it. Vincent has already come so far. Now he just needs someone who sees the same potential in him that we do.

Meet Benji: Professional Squirrel Monitor & Champion Cuddler 🐶✨Benji is a young, playful, super sweet boy with two main life goals:Keep the backyard 100% squirrel-free, andMake sure he’s never too far from his toys, a cozy napping spot, or his humanHe’s fully house-trained and knows how to be a very good boy at home. In his current foster home, he free-roams like the responsible adult he is. No chewed furniture, no chaos—just good boy vibes. He’s even been left alone for long stretches and handled it like a champ.Benji lives with a male dog and LOVES having a play buddy. When his dog friend isn’t in the mood, Benji has no problem entertaining himself with toys, bones, and solo playtime. When meeting new dogs, he sometimes comes in a little… enthusiastic. Think “Hi!Hi!Hi!Let’sBeBestFriends!” right out of the gate. With proper introductions, he’s thrilled to make doggy friends.Despite his playful energy, Benji takes his beauty rest very seriously and fits naps into his daily schedule like a true professional. He is a HUGE cuddle bug and firmly believes couches and beds exist specifically for snuggling. On work-from-home days, he’ll either quietly entertain himself or snooze right next to your desk as your emotional support coworker.Benji is also a total people-lover. Friends coming over? Best day ever. Male, female, doesn’t matter—Benji is excited to say hello and will quickly wiggle his way into snuggle position on the couch. If you’re looking for a dog who’s playful, affectionate, low-drama at home, and always down to cuddle, Benji is ready to move in and steal your heart (and probably your spot on the couch). 🐾💙 Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Tri Color Weight: 55 Age: 1yrs 10mths 1wks

Story
Avocado was adopted from Austin Pets Alive in April 2025. His birthday is August 5, 2022- making him three years old! We have loved him for seven months, but unfortunately we are in a busy season of life and we have also noticed some behaviors that have been a little hard to work with. Avo is a very loyal and loving dog, but he did spend the first two years of his life, only knowing other dogs as he came from a hoarding case. There is lots of hesitancy around new people. We are also looking to rehome because we believe that he deserves more physical activity than we can offer. He is extremely athletic. He loves going on long walks- but we both work 8 hours a day 5 days a week- making that hard. I would love it if I can still be in contact with you after adoption and get updates here and there of how happy he is! ❤️ In the event that you are interested, Avocado would come with a harness, collars, bed, crate, standing feeder, and toys. He is very well taken care of!

Story
Hi There! Beanie is an almost 2 year old beagle (male, 25lbs) that I unfortunately am looking to rehome as I am now in an unexpected living situation where I cannot have a dog :( while it breaks my heart, I want to make sure that he is responsibly rehomed and put in a safe situation with a loving family who can prioritize him and his needs. He was initially adopted from a breeder in Ohio and is neutered, potty trained, and knows basic obedience tricks. He has zero bite history but he is anxious and excitement reactive around other dogs. He takes 20mg of Prozac as daily medication to assist with his reactivity. He is GREAT with people and children. He has experience living with both dogs and cats and does well with other animals ONCE he gets to know them. He’s a very high energy, fun loving boy who always wants to play. He also loves to get vocal and will bark to express his needs. Beanie’s ideal family would be someone with a fenced in yard as he loves to run around.
