Meet Eliza - a gentle, growing soul who is just beginning to discover the world around her. Coming from a hoarding situation, everything is still new to her, and she’s learning step by step what it means to feel safe and cared for. Eliza may not fully understand affection just yet, but she’s making steady, heartwarming progress. She’s started to approach familiar people for polite sniffs and will happily accept a few treats, showing her curiosity and quiet bravery. Each day, she’s building confidence and learning to trust a little more. Eliza would love to meet your dog to see if they are a good match! She lived with multiple dogs previously. Eliza is looking for a patient, understanding home that will celebrate her small victories and give her the time she needs to blossom. Watching her grow and come out of her shell will be a truly rewarding experience.

Story
It's adorable & adoptable: Fizz. We know what you’re thinking: Lady, that’s a beagle. Au contraire, mon frere. Fizz is a BEAGALIER. His mama is a king charles cavalier and his pops was a beagle (according to his DNA test) Now, exactly how much spaniel is actually in there? It’s in his eyes and cute little tufts on his ears. He’s beagle-sized, beagle-mouthed and beagle-smart. He is sassy, confident and always has been. He’s got an AH-ROOO bark that’ll have you saying “ah yes, that’s a hound dog” as soon as you hear it, but luckily he’s not too much of a yapper. He is, however, six months old which means he gets excited about many things: Food, toys, squirrels, falling leaves that seem like they might attack, you know, that sort of thing. If you’re smart about smart puppies, you know that the best thing in the world you can do is give them lots of enrichment and appropriate things for them to gnaw on while they’re getting all their adult teeth in (his are almost all in!). Fizz loves to snuggle and wants to be as close up on your lap as possible. He also gets along with other dogs, though his idea of making them play with him can feel a little IN YOUR FACE if they’re not into that sort of thing. All in all, Fizz is a great pup and fun guy. He’s already so smart, it’ll be fun to see how he grows up! Interested in adoption? Our adoptions require an approved application which you can find on our website. Already approved applicants can email us at woof@austincockerrescue.org We adopt to within the State of Texas and do not ship or transport dogs.

Story
Meet Mabry, a gentle, calm, and low-maintenance soul who is slowly learning that the world can be a safe and beautiful place. Mabry is a quiet, watchful observer with a low energy level who loves relaxing on her dog bed, taking peaceful car rides, and staying calm when left alone. While Mabry can be shy around visitors and new situations, the most rewarding part of foster care has been watching her gently blossom, gain confidence, and realizing that humans can be kind. She warms up over time to cats and other dogs, finding comfort in a quiet, predictable environment. Mabry is looking for a patient, experienced home -that can give her the time, space, and gentle encouragement she needs to keep building trust. If you have a peaceful home and a big heart ready to guide a gentle spirit on her journey toward confidence, Mabry will be a deeply rewarding companion.

Story
Carmen is the total package: athletic, affectionate, endlessly fun, and wrapped up in the perfect medium-sized body that fits just about any lifestyle. With her gorgeous soulful eyes and bright, eager personality, she turns heads everywhere she goes — but it’s her joyful spirit that really steals hearts. This spunky girl thrives on activity and absolutely loves learning new things, especially anything involving agility, games, or adventures with her people. She’s the kind of dog who would happily zoom through an obstacle course, master new tricks, then curl up beside you afterward for snuggles and attention. Still young and full of potential, Carmen approaches life with excitement, curiosity, and a “what are we doing next?” attitude. She adores people, bonds quickly, and brings an infectious energy that makes every day feel a little more fun. Around other dogs she’s still building confidence and learning her social rhythm, but with positive experiences and patient guidance, she’s already showing all the signs of becoming an incredible companion. If you’re looking for a smart, active, loving dog who’s ready to grow alongside you, Carmen is ready to make your life a whole lot brighter.

He’s also a total people‑pleaser who enjoys attention from his person and happily soaks up affection. He gets along well with most dogs but does best with a proper introduction to new canine friends. **Meet Tina!** 💛 If you're looking for a laid-back companion who has perfected the art of relaxing, Tina is your girl. This sweet, independent, and delightfully goofy Basset Hound mix is happiest when she's soaking up the sunshine, enjoying a leisurely walk, or snoozing beside you on the couch. And when she's in the mood for cuddles, she'll happily curl up next to you for some quality snuggle time. Tina has plenty of personality! She's an excellent neighborhood watch captain who will let you know when a package arrives, and squirrels are her greatest rivals. She's also incredibly food motivated, making her eager to learn and easy to win over with a tasty treat. She enjoys tug toys, Kongs, lick mats, and leisurely adventures with her favorite people. Around new friends, Tina is affectionate and welcoming—she loves saying hello with a few kisses before settling in for some well-earned relaxation. She can be selective around other dogs, so she'd be happiest as the only pet in the home. House-trained and comfortable relaxing at home while you're away, Tina is ready to enjoy her golden years with a family who appreciates life's simple pleasures. A quiet home where she can spend her days sunbathing, taking walks, and sharing the couch with someone special would be her dream come true. If you're searching for a loyal best friend with a gentle heart and the perfect balance of independence and affection, Tina can't wait to meet you.

Story
Available in TX only! King is a one year old Basset Hound/Lab mix with a gentle soul and a laid back nature. He is still gaining confidence and can be scared of new things, especially loud noises, but once he feels safe he settles in nicely. When he gets excited he can be a little jumpy, though most of the time he is calm and easygoing. King truly enjoys running around the yard, going on walks, and soaking up outdoor time. He has a playful side and loves playing fetch with frisbees and balls. Tug of war is another favorite game, and he is a big fan of chew time. Knuckle bones, hard chew toys for power chewers, and anything he can safely gnaw on make him very happy. King is crate trained and house trained, which makes him an easy addition to a home. King does have a prey drive and enjoys chasing squirrels and frogs, and he will chase cats, so a cat free home is recommended. He also has a sensitive stomach and does best on sensitive stomach dog food. King would thrive in a patient, understanding home that will give him time to build confidence and continue showing him the world is a safe place. With love and consistency, he will be a loyal and loving companion. To apply directly for King, push the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-751
