Story
Journey was found at 8 weeks old under a car. It is believed that she was there for at least three days before discovered. She was immediately taken to a vet. She was treated for worms and given first round of shots. She completed all rounds and was given her rabies shot and at 6 months was spayed and micro chipped. She ate 3 times a day until 5 months then twice a day. She started out on the farmers dog and at 5 months switched over to Orijen large puppy food. She loves playing with doggie toys, treats and playing outside. Journey will come, sit, lay down, and roll over. Currently learning to walk on leashe and stay. House trained and starts to wind down around 8pm and up at 6:30am. I think Journey will do well as a companion and guard dog. A teenager and or young active parents.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.I am perfect! I am sweet, gentle and loving. Shy when you first meet me.Tori was recently interviewed to see why she hasn't been adopted. She is picky!  Tori believes she deserves the best family. Here is what she wants in a new home. 1. Love me as I will love you - unconditionally and forever. 2. Spend time with me. Exercise me daily 3. Feed me good, healthy food 4. Let me join in with all the family activities. I am a good girl and obedient. 5. I need at least one other playmate with my energy level. 6. I love water and would like nothing better than to play on the beach in the waves. These don't seem to be a tough list of requirements does it? Tori is Brindle with the classic face. She is as sweet as she can be. Tori loves to play but would like nothing better than to snuggle on the couch. She insists on hugs, not kisses and will sneak a drink of unprotected coffee if you aren't watching!    Tori is great with all her foster siblings from the smallest to the biggest. She follows behind her brothers and plays chase in the yard, or hide and seek in the house. She is going to make an awesome addition to any family.   Tori is cautious and shy. She will need patience and love in her new home but once she has gained confidence she will be totally dedicated. Please contact info@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online at www.aarfhouston.org/forms . Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet. Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Not appropriate for apartment or mobil homeMs Katie is ready for her forever home.  Loyal, loving and obedient.   She knows place, sit, let's go, and here.   She is crate trained and leash trained as well.   Katie has fabulous recall and will return immediately.  Katie is the smartest working girl ever.  Katie runs with the pack (or more accurately, runs the pack) she is definitely an alpha personality.  She is German Shepherd and Cattle Dog.  Two working breeds that need a job and a lot of stimulus.   She goes non stop and keeps everyone on their toes.  She will be a great running companion.   She is a talker and has a lot to say. Smart!   She figured out the doggie door weeks before I would have approved, but there is no stopping her when she sets her mind to learning something. She sits for treats. Not because she was trained to, but because she watched the pack and learned. She is an exceptional dog. She requires an active home.  Because of her intelligence, she will become bored and then destructive which will not make anyone happy.  Katie is a pleaser and learns very quickly. Her perfect home will be older children, an active family and definitely a yard. Katie will do best with a companion dog in the family.  She is not an apartment  or mobil home appropriate.     If you  can provide Katie with the stimulous and love that she will require, she will be an awesome dog.   aarfhouston.org/forms ========================================================= Please contact  app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application . Puppies that are under 4 months old cannot be adopted outside of our Veterinary Service area.  Please call for specific locations. Children under 8 years old often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs.   In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events.  Thank you for considering a rescue!
