Sativa was found on the side of the road. She was a stray who we believe had never had any medical treatment. She had heartworms, and we treated her for that, and now, she is heartworm negative! She is a sweet baby that needs a good home!!!!

My name is Tiny, and the world still feels like a very big, scary place. I'm a shy, timid boy who needs a patient and understanding family. Loud noises like cars and airplanes make me nervous, and I don't feel comfortable around men, children, visitors, or other dogs yet. Even cats are a little confusing to me—I might watch them from a distance, but if they move, I run away. Every day I'm learning that I'm safe, but trust doesn't come easily for me. I'm making progress, even if it's slow. When I first came home, I had to be carried outside every time. Now I can do a little more on my own, although I still need help getting outside and across the street for walks, especially if the neighbor's dogs are around. I love resting on my dog bed right beside my person, and I've recently started standing close enough to enjoy gentle pets without getting too scared. I don't really understand toys, commands, or even what a leash is supposed to be, but I'm trying my best. I'm also doing well with potty training as long as someone helps me get outside often. If you look into my eyes, you might see me quietly asking, "Am I safe now?" What I need most is time, patience, and lots of love. I won't be the kind of dog who settles in overnight, but if you let me move at my own pace and celebrate the little victories with me, I believe I'll become an amazing companion. Right now, I'd probably do best in a calm home without young children, men, or other pets while I continue to build my confidence. I am a stunning, wrinkly-faced young adult female Belgian Malinois/Boxer mix with an adorable underbite who’s the perfect mix of energetic and relaxed. I am an unpredictable gal with a high prey drive so cats are not a good fit for me; I’m reactive when it comes to other dogs or unknown/sudden sounds like bikes whizzing by etc.; and I’m a pack follower so if there’s a fight, I may feel compelled to join the chaos. That said, I went to a training facility where there were many other dogs and I did great so I think with time, patience, and continued training I may overcome these ‘quirks’ of mine!! Hee, hee! Anyway, my favorite activities include cuddling with my people; going for leashed walks; snoozing on the couch; eating; playing with squeaky toys; chewing on bones/sticks; chasing the cat; chilling with my canine sib; running zoomies; and barking at strangers outside! I don’t like a lot of commotion and have been known to bite if someone comes into the house when foster mom is not home. I am, however, a very smart girl who will not only give myself a kenneled ‘time-out’ if I’m barking too much but I am potty trained and I know commands like “sit”, “down”, “kennel/crate”, and “heel”! Seriously, how brilliant am I!?! I am a great listener too which makes training a lot easier! Hee, hee!! I know that I’m a bit unpredictable right now but I’m still young and I really am a sweetheart who simply wants to find unconditional love in my own furever home with a patient family who will NEVER give up on me!
