Hazel currently lives with another large dog and does okay, but we think she would do best as an only dog Hazel is looking for someone who will appreciate her fun-loving, energetic personality and give her opportunities to run, explore, play, ride along, and be part of the family. If you're the type of person who says, “Want to go for a hike?” instead of “Want to stay home?”—Hazel may be your girl! 🥾🐾❤️ Hazel can be very excited when her person comes home, but the good news is that she settles down quickly. Because of that enthusiasm, she may be a little too exuberant for very young or small children and could accidentally knock them over. But these puppies are not just pretty faces—they are typical Malinois/German Shepherd-type puppies with the intelligence, drive, energy, and intensity that come with these breeds. At just 10 weeks old, they are still small, but they are expected to grow into 50+ pound adult dogs. And they are already showing us exactly who they are: • Mouthy and nippy – they are puppies and are still learning appropriate behavior • High-energy with plenty of squealing, bouncing, and puppy craziness • Tenacious – they don't give up easily • Extremely smart and quick to learn • Driven and intense • Curious, active, and ready for a job, training, and adventure These puppies are NOT apartment dogs. They also are not a good match for homes with young children, primarily because of their natural puppy nipping and intensity. They need owners who understand that raising a Malinois/German Shepherd-type dog requires being intentional from day one with training, structure, boundaries, exercise, and mental stimulation. Breed-specific or very similar breed experience is REQUIRED. We are looking for adopters who truly understand what these dogs are going to become—not simply someone who thinks they are beautiful puppies. Meet Cadence! 💙 Cadence is a Malinois through and through, and he's ready to roll in the blink of an eye! For him, everything is an adventure, and every adventure is full of fun. Whatever he does, he does it to the fullest, with speed, style, and heart! 🎾 He loves a good game of catch or Frisbee, long hikes, brisk walks, sniffing out lost treasures, and finding new adventures around every corner. Cadence shows his affection in the sweetest ways, gently nudging his nose into you, offering a paw to shake, or leaning in for a good behind-the-ears scratch. He gets very excited when meeting new people and may try to jump up to say hello, so he's working on remembering that he is a BIG boy and his enthusiasm needs to come with good manners. Cadence would do best as an only dog. He wants your full attention when he's out, and his energy is simply too much for most other dogs.A home with other dogs could work if you're able and willing to crate and rotate. With that true Malinois energy, Cadence can make bad choices when left alone, so he needs to be kenneled whenever you're not with him. A sturdy kennel also helps him feel safe and secure during storms, which he's not a fan of. He does best with calm, consistent handling and someone who understands his Malinois ways. He can be sensitive to quick movements, so his foster is teaching him to respond to calm direction rather than being physically guided. The good news is that he's a smart boy and a quick learner. He'll happily sit when asked and is making great progress with his manners. And motorcycles? Well... Cadence LOVES them a little too much! 😂 His foster family is helping him learn to keep that enthusiasm in check. When it comes to playtime, Cadence is ALL IN until the toys disappear. Once playtime is over, he settles right down and relaxes. He's also potty trained and Kennel trained. Cadence is a goofy, athletic, smart boy looking for someone willing to give him the time, patience, consistency, and continued training he needs to become the amazing companion he has the potential to be.
