Story
Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they are adopted. ALL our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Mallory - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Mallory is a beautiful 3-year-old Belgian Malinois blend who weighs approximately 70 pounds. Maybe since Mallory is a little older (and/or because of what she is mixed with) she is calmer than most Mals. She is a little leery when she meets new people, but once you pass her test, she will melt your heart with her sweetness. She strives to please. She loves to cuddle, play and even to be brushed. She needs to be in a home where she is very much a part of the family because she wants to be near her favorite person. She doesn't realize her size, as she loves to cuddle in bed if there is room. :)` Malinois' are not for everybody but in the right home they can make for a pawsome family member. A Belgian Malinois is an enthusiastic and quick dog with a natural tendency to always be in motion. This breed is demanding and needs an experienced owner. The Belgian Malinois is a very smart and obedient dog. They can have strong protective and territorial instincts. This breed needs extensive socialization from an early age, and firm, but not harsh, training. Belgians are instinctively protective so they should be trained and socialized very well from an early age. Unless you are specifically working in a protection sport, you do not need to give your Belgian any protection training, as it will come naturally to them. Belgians make excellent pets for the right homes, as they thrive on loving companionship. They instinctively display herding behavior such as chasing and circling, moving effortlessly for hours. Mallory needs a family that will keep her engaged with their activities, adventures and their everyday living routines. If she sounds like the perfect companion for you, please fill out her adoption application to make her a member of your family!!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //     Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $550 plus taxKai is settling right into the routine at her foster home. This smart cookie can definitely be a vocal girl. If she gets frustrated or needs to go potty. She uses her voice to let you know. She picked up on house training but is still getting used to being on a leash.  She loves people and kids and has done great with the resident dogs. She is still figuring out how to fully play without pushing boundaries with the older dogs. She likes cats but will try to play with them!   She absolutely loves balls! She is an amazing pup and would probably love sports when she is older. She has a prey drive. Right now she is a typical puppy that likes to run, jump, kiss and give nibbles! Don’t be fooled by her cuteness, this girl needs consistent training to make sure she grows into the spectacular representative of her breeds.    * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting.  If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***   DOB: 02/08/2021 Requires another dog in home: No, picky about her friends Okay with dogs of all sizes: Not good with small dogs - read more in profile  Okay with cats: No, unless dog savvy cat  Okay with children under 12 years old: Older, considerate kids only Weight: 34 lbs Requires a fenced yard: No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Raquel. I am a stunning, wrinkly-faced young adult female Belgian Malinois/Boxer mix with an adorable underbite who’s the perfect mix of energetic and relaxed. That said, I can be a bit reactive when it comes to other dogs and I have been known to whimper, bark, lunge, or even bite at them. Little dogs like Pugs or Bulldogs seem to be a trigger for me so although I would love to have a doggie companion at my new home, he/she would need to be a larger, alpha dog who’s already established in the home. I am, after all, a great guard dog and will think of the home as ‘MINE’ if another dog is brought in after me. Additionally, I’m a bit of a follower which means I like to follow the pack so if other dogs are fighting, I will too. That said, I did go to a training facility where there was 30+ dogs and I did great so I think with time, patience, and continued training I will overcome these quirks of mine!!  Anyway, my favorite activities include spending time with and shadowing my people (even kids); going for leashed walks; chasing squirrels, bunnies, or birds (if given the chance); snoozing on the couch; eating food; playing with my toys; chilling with my resident doggie sib; running zoomies in a fenced yard; barking at the strangers/noises outside; and playing hide-n-seek with the cat. I admit I have a high prey drive, but I do well with a cat that can keep me in line! Hee, hee!!  I don't require a fenced in yard, but if you don't have one, I need a home who can give me a walk or run each day.  I don’t like a lot of commotion and if strangers come into the house when foster mom’s not there, I have been known to get a little uneasy and that can come out in the form of a growl or snap.  I am a very smart girl who will not only give myself a ‘time-out’ in my kennel if I’m barking too much but I am potty trained and I know commands like “sit”, “down”, “kennel/crate”, and “heel”! Seriously, how brilliant am I!!?!! I am a great listener too which makes training a lot easier!  I know that I’m a bit unpredictable right now but I’m still young and I really am a sweetheart who simply wants to find unconditional love in my own furever home with a patient family who will NEVER give up on me! My heart is SO full of love that I really want to share with YOU…please be my new family, I assure you I’m worth it! Love Raquel NOTE: Raquel has had a DNA test and is 38% Belgian Malinois, 18% Boxer and 17% American Pitbull Terrier Note that this dog has been treated for heartworm  and will need monthly heartworm preventatives year round for life.  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.      ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now?
