Story
Ellie is a gorgeous 11 month old female dog. We believe her to be a Malinois or Malinois mix. She currently weighs about 40 pounds. We expect her fill out a little more, but do not expect her to get much larger. Ellie was abandoned in rural Texas. Either prior to being abandoned or while living on her own her rear leg was severely injured. After being picked up by animal control and being brought to the shelter, she received the amputation she desperately needed. She has now healed, gained weight, and is ready to be adopted! She gets along well with other dogs and she loves people of all ages. She is high energy- she doesn't let one less leg get her down! She would love an active family who will train her to her full potential! She is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and she comes with her medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies her to be in good condition. Her adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. If she does not receive an adoption hold prior to his arrival in WI, she will be available to meet at our upcoming adoption events or by appointment with her foster family. On 12/6, she made it safely out of Arkansas and traveled to Wisconsin, where she is now settling beautifully into her foster home. From Her Foster: Sweet Pea is settling in very nicely! She loves to play with the resident dogs and absolutely loves the snow. Sweets slept overnight in her crate and is definitely living up to her name. She is loving to everyone she meets and is one smart puppy. Her foster mom says she will make a wonderful addition to any family looking for a furry family member. This little girl is all heart and still learning the ropes, as all puppies are, but her warm, affectionate personality makes her a wonderful fit for many types of homes.
