Story
Olive is an eager, happy youngster who is ready to join a very dog experienced home who can give her the consistency, activity, training she craves. Olive is an achiever she is built for action and learning; she needs and takes to direction well, and needs to know to look to her person for approval, and direction. She is head strong and protective, needing strong leadership! She is a very affectionate young dog who is dog-friendly and house-broken. Olive needs a bit of work on her leash manners. She is very dog friendly, but no beta. An active and engaged person that has the time to provide ongoing socialization, lots of on and off-leash activity, fun, road trips and adventure is going to be the right match for Olive. Does Olive sound like the right match for you? She'll keep you on your toes, love you to the end of the world...she's also cuddly, but ready for action! Olive is at our Sanctuary - but may well come down to Point Richmond for a spell - she is a beauty and a diamond in the RUFF!

Story
Hello from Miss Zelda!Zelda is an absolute love and does great with the other similarly sized dogs in her foster home. It is clear she has had at least one litter of puppies, but she is now spayed and ready to find her perfect home. She is also fantastic with the two children in the home aged 6 and 13, although her foster has definitely been working on her manners with her in terms of eating food that doesn’t belong to her. Zelda loves the other dogs but is very much driven by human attention and affection. She is extremely food motivated but does not seem to have any toy drive. This beautiful girl would do best in a home with children over age 5 and no small animals including small dogs or cats. She has a definite prey drive.  A home where she will receive lots of love and attention, along with continued training and socialization, is a must for this girl. Zelda is fully house broken and crate trained. If you think your home may be a good match for Zelda, please don’t hesitate to fill out an application at calpaws.org. She can’t wait to meet you! Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm and microchip each dog as well as spay or neuter. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereHello from Milo! Milo is a gentle and loving soul. This sweet boy may have had a rough start in life, but he has made tremendous strides in improving his social abilities in his foster home. He was once fearful and nervous around new situations and people. Now, he eagerly welcomes guests to his home, wagging his tail in excitement for some tasty treats. He's even conquered his fear of passing strangers on the leash! (He still may have some stranger danger but it's getting better every day.) Fosters have reported that Milo is a playful and healthy pup who loves nothing more than being outside, playing, and exploring with his furry foster doggie siblings. He's full of affection and adores being petted, and his favorite place to cuddle up is right next to his beloved humans on the bed. His foster family calls him "Sunny Boy"! Milo is a good sleeper, sleeping soundly through the night, too. Milo will thrive in a calm and quiet household and environment, with routine and consistency so that he can continue to feel safe. He has learned to be a more confident dog! While Milo's past makes it hard to predict how he'll react around children or cats, one thing is for sure: this dog is full of love and loyalty, waiting for the perfect family to give him the love and care he deserves. With his good nature and willingness to learn, Milo is ready to be a faithful companion for life. Could you be the one to give him the loving home he's been waiting for? Milo is about 3 years old and weighs 59 lbs. He would prefer a quiet and adult-only home at this time. He adores people and forms deep bonds with his humans. And yes, he has mastered the art of "puppy eyes"! Max is incredibly soft and adores affection and belly rubs. Don't let his senior status fool you; full of life, this pup is far from retirement and maintains excellent mobility, hearing, and eyesight. He relishes going on walks, car rides, and is always eager for new adventures, such as exploring the coastal trail at Half Moon Bay or hiking on local nature trails. His current routine includes two daily walks around the neighborhood and mental exercises to keep him healthy and content. He reveals his playful side when pouncing on plush squeaking toys or zooming around the yard. Max has mastered many new skills, proving that older dogs are both capable and intelligent. He is crate trained, and understands numerous commands and associated hand signals. Max is highly food motivated and fearlessly attempts anything for treats, from navigating a long tunnel to jumping over small objects. His food motivation aids in his training and eagerness to learn new tricks. Max resides in a suburban foster home with a yard enclosed by a 6-foot fence, where he enjoys a balance of indoor and outdoor time. While Max prefers to be the sole focus of attention, he has enjoyed a few playdates with select tolerant dogs.  If you're searching for a truly remarkable companion with a sweet and affectionate demeanor, look no further than Max. He's the complete package, ready to bring immense joy and excitement into your home! Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereAmana is in a foster home and her fosters say: Amana is a sweet and sensitive soul who loves to be with her humans, whether it's snuggling at home or out on an adventure. She is a medium energy dog who is happy to go on walks of any length and lounge around at home. She is fully house trained, has been fine being home alone for 6 hours, and is comfortable in cars. Amana is very smart and has learned new tricks in a day (most recently, 'back up')! She's also pretty quiet and rarely barks (she tends to bark for the first few minutes after being left at home, then settles down). Gorgeous Amana has made leaps and bounds with her loose leash walking, but can get carried away following her nose so she will need continued rewards-based training. And while she is social with other respectful dogs, her ideal home will help her with her excitement around her dog buddies. See her flourish in foster @adopt_oas_amana on Instagram!
