Story
We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see a sweet young dog that needs our help. Willow is one of these dogs that deserves, due to her excellent temperament and all the love she'll bring to a family, to have a wonderful home filled with pure love and nurturing.
Willow is the kind of dog that once comfortable in her environment snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her head on your shoulder breathing her warm breath. She's so sweet and so very loving and irresistible that you can't help falling head over heels in love.
Willow is a gorgeous 50 pound, 10 month old Bernese Mountain Dog / Labrador Retriever mix that is just waiting patiently to be the love of a special family's life. Willow's breeds were identified by Texas veterinarians...all we know for certain is that this sweet girl is absolutely irresistible! This pup is SO sweet and once acclimated to her new life, will make a wonderful addition to a dog-loving Colorado family.

Willow is a perfect size to be able to accompany her family just about everywhere a medium-sized dog is welcome. She will fit right into virtually every situation due to her great temperament and very sweet personality. Our dream for Willow is a forever Colorado home with a family that cherishes her for life.
As Willow becomes comfortable in her forever home, she'll blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more our special girl will shine with her accomplishments. Farfel's would like to see our Willow in a home that includes her in family time and activities (and some couch-time with belly rubs would be absolutely perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a smart and cooperative dog like Willow the skills to accompany her family out into the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area.
Willow will be a loving and devoted companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a silly, fun-loving and irresistible dog. She would love to have another gentle and fun dog to play with but it's not mandatory if her people are nurturing and involved.
Willow would also do well with a younger family that works from a home-based office. She would bask in the attention and periodic cuddles throughout the day that this life-style brings.
Willow's stunning coat (with the most gorgeous Bernese markings ever!) is currently shelter-sad. She will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing, excellent 5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement. This regimen will promote great health as well as a cottony-soft coat that is shining with that excellent health.
Willow has been fully vetted, spayed, and is up to date on her vaccinations. This supports Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation challenge in the canine population.
