Story
Avalanche, Great Pyrenees mix, 3 yrs., 80 lbs. Housebroken. Avalanche is going to take some time to get used to you and new surroundings. It took a week for him to get used to being leashed. He is headstrong and stubborn but is affectionate. Doesn’t seem to care about other dogs. He’s better with women than men. He needs to be an indoor/outdoor dog not a livestock dog. We prefer a home with someone home most of the time unless there’s another dog in the home. He was surrendered due to his owner becoming ill and he could no longer care for him. Courtesy listing. Story
Meet Snow 🤍 Snow is a beautiful Pyrenees mix, estimated to be around 1–3 years old, currently being fostered in Fort Collins. She weighs about 80 lbs and is still filling out after arriving in Colorado very underweight with her sister. She has come such a long way and is truly blossoming. Snow is shy at first, but once she feels safe, she absolutely loves affection. She has the softest eyes and the sweetest soul. Every day she grows more confident and is learning how good it feels to be loved. She loves other dogs and would likely thrive with a confident canine buddy, though it’s not required. She is kennel trained, doggy door trained, naps and sleeps through the night in her kennel. She feels very safe in her kennel so the foster mom would want an adopter that is willing to continue to let her kennel. She is food motivated, which makes building trust with her much easier. Leash walking still makes her nervous, though she does well walking on leash around the fosters 7-acre property. Because of this, she needs a quiet home with a fenced yard (preferably a 6-foot fence). She would likely do well with older, calm children and possibly cats with slow introductions. Snow is being fostered with a professional trainer who specializes in helping shy dogs build confidence. A free training session will be provided to her adopter to help ensure a smooth transition and continued progress. She has already come so far — now she just needs a patient, loving home to call her own 🤍 Please reach out if you’re interested in giving Snow the safe, peaceful life she deserves

Story
Rain is a beautiful Pyrenees mix and is believed to be approximately 1-3 years old. She is very shy at first but loves affection once she feels safe with you, she is absolutely adorable and her eyes will melt your heart! She weighs approximately 80 lbs and still needs to put on a few more pounds to be at a healthy weight. Rain came to Colorado with her sister Snow, they were both very underweight. They are thriving at their foster mom's house and are putting on weight and getting healthy and strong and are ready to be loved! We don't know much about her history but we can tell she was never socialized. Every day she gets more confident and would love to have a home of her own and someone to love her unconditionally and continue to teach her how good it is to be loved! Rain loves to play with other dogs so she will probably do best with a confident canine buddy in her future home but is not completely necessary if an adopter has lots of love to share with her. Rain loves her kennel and feels very safe in it. She sleeps through the night and naps in it during the day. She also loves food so it is easy to work with her to gain her trust. This beautiful girl is waiting patiently to find her FurEver Family and is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes and rehabilitates shy or unsocialized dogs. Her foster mom has an amazing rehabilitation protocol to help these precious dogs and is working with all the dogs in her care on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, kennel training, doggie door training and if time permits, leash and car training. Probably the thing Rain will need the most patience with is learning to walk on a leash. Currently it scares her but her foster mom is trying to help her with that. Since leash walking makes her nervous she will need a home with a fenced yard. There are lots of other dogs at her foster mom's house so we know she is dog friendly. Her foster doesn't have any cats but thinks she would be fine with them if introduced slowly and properly. We also think she would be fine with older / calm children. Please consider this adorable dog as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. Her foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter, who is willing to do a minimum of one paid (discounted) training session with her. This training session is NOT basic obedience, but instead, is designed for rescue dogs and teaches the adopter how to work to build the dogs confidence and overcome any trauma the dog may have experienced. This training is to teach the adopter how to help the dog be successful in their new home and will help the family and this sweet dog bond and adjust to their new life together. The foster provides a discount on training to her adopters. Please apply for Rain today!!

Story
"Meet Sugar — a 2-year-old female Great Pyrenees mix with a heart as big as her fluffy smile 🤍 At 59.4 lbs, Sugar could stand to gain a few more pounds, but what she may lack in fluff right now she more than makes up for in pure sweetness. This girl is happiness on four paws — her tail is always wagging, she gives the very best kisses, and she’ll happily follow you from room to room just to be near her people. Sugar loves everyone she meets and does wonderfully with other dogs. She walks beautifully on leash — no pulling, no reactivity — just happily moseying along, stopping to sniff absolutely everything (because the world is fascinating, obviously 😄). She appears to be potty trained and has great house manners. Crates aren’t her thing — they’re actually pretty scary to her — but the good news is she’s completely trustworthy free roaming, so there’s no need to push it. She settles nicely in the home, enjoys playtime and the occasional burst of zoomies, but is just as content to lounge and relax by your side. If you’re looking for a loving, gentle, easygoing companion who will adore you endlessly and bring a constant wag to your life, Sugar might just be your perfect match 💕" Sugar is being fostered in Firestone, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/sugar/. Story
"Meet Your New Best Friend 💛 At just 5 months old, this Pyrenees mix girl is equal parts fluffy, funny, and full of love. She has that perfect puppy mix of playful curiosity and melt-into-your-arms sweetness. If you’re looking for a shadow with four paws, she’s your girl. She absolutely adores people and thrives on connection. Wherever you are, that’s where she wants to be. She’s wonderful with other dogs and would truly blossom in a home with a canine buddy to wrestle, romp, and nap beside. Cats? She likes them! She just hasn’t quite cracked the code on what they’re for yet. She’s more confused than anything — it’s pretty adorable. Her dream home would include: Another friendly dog A fenced backyard to stretch those growing legs Plenty of toys (she’s an enthusiastic collector!) A family who is around often and wants a constant companion She doesn’t do well in a crate and gets lonely when left alone for long periods. She’s happiest when she’s part of the action — whether that’s movie night on the couch or following you from room to room like your fluffy assistant. This sweet girl doesn’t just want a home — she wants her people. In return, she’ll give you loyalty, laughter, and more love than you can imagine. If you’re ready for a devoted, joyful, slightly goofy best friend, she’s ready to meet you."
