Chance is a lovable 3-year-old Chihuahua/Shih Tzu mix with a heart as big as his sweet personality. Chance has a head tremor caused by a congenital cerebellar lesion, but it doesn’t slow him down at all. , This was confirmed by a neurology consultation. He’s a happy, affectionate little guy who enjoys life at a relaxed, low-to-moderate energy pace—happy to play a little, go on short walks, or just curl up for cuddles and quiet companionship. He is house-trained and crate-trained, gets along beautifully with dogs, kids, and cats, and greets everyone he meets with warmth and friendliness. Chance is looking for a loving forever home where he can share his gentle, loyal heart every single day. Chance is currently undergoing treatments for heartworm disease. Until he has completed his treatments and is fully recovered, Chance is available for adoption only in the Atlanta area; He must be able to come to Furkids' shelter for treatments. Chance weighs 13lbs and is approximately 3 years old (est. birth date 09/24/2022). Chance has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. At first, he can be nervous around new people and situations, but with patience (and maybe a little cheese), his sweet and affectionate side shines through. Because Bruno can become nippy if startled or rushed, he’s looking for an experienced adopter who understands “spicy” dogs and is willing to respect his boundaries. A calm, low-traffic home without children will be the best fit for him. The good news? Bruno has plenty of great qualities to offer his perfect person! He’s housetrained, crate-trained, and enjoys the company of other dogs. A fenced yard is required, but he also does well on leash. To help set him up for success, Bruno’s adoption will include a couple of meet-and-greets and a home visit. Meet Dycen! Dycen is a 7-year-old Shih Tzu with a big personality and an even bigger heart—once he’s in the right environment. This senior boy was surrendered to the county shelter before coming to us, and while he hasn’t quite shown his best manners here (he’s made it clear he’s not a fan of the shelter life!), we know he’ll shine once he’s comfortable in a calm, loving home. Dycen gets along well with dogs of all sizes and would do best in a quiet household with older children or teens who understand how to respect his space. He’s housetrained and already knows several commands—Sit, Down, Come, Wait, and Stay—though he could use a little refresher on leash manners since he tends to pull when excited and jumps on people. Dycen just needs someone patient who can see past his stress and give him the time and love he deserves. With the right family, this little guy is sure to settle in and show what a wonderful companion he can be. Dycen currently weighs about 13lbs., is approximately 7 years old (est. birth date 02/03/2018), and his adoption fee is $315. Dycen has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped.
