Story
Rafferty is a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. He is happy all of the time. Rafferty loves new people of all ages; enjoying all the scratches and affection they can bestow on him. He also gets along great with other dogs and will run and play. (Video attached) . Rafferty is estimated to be about a year old and weighs just 18 pounds.  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   January 16, 2026, 7:31 pm

Story
Snoopy is a 9.5-month-old, 13 lb black and white Shih Tzu mix with a gentle soul and a curious heart. He’s a shy boy who can be nervous around new people at first, but he has never shown aggression or defensiveness—he simply needs patience and kindness to feel safe. When Snoopy decides you’re someone he trusts, he truly enjoys quiet cuddles and being close. Snoopy loves going for walks on his leash and is learning more every day. He’s still working on his potty training, so he’ll do best with a family willing to continue guiding him with consistency and encouragement. Toys are a new experience for Snoopy! He approaches them with curiosity and caution, as he’s still figuring out what they’re all about—watching him explore is pretty adorable. In our home, Snoopy has proven to be wonderful with everyone: kids, adults, dogs, cats, and even fish (haha). He’s a peaceful presence who would thrive in a calm, patient home where he’s allowed to build confidence at his own pace. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion who just needs a little extra time to blossom, Snoopy may be the perfect match. Snoopy is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
