Story
Athena, a true goddess, surprises all who meet her with her gorgeous sable coat and stunning athletic ability. She is beautiful to watch run, she’s sleek, nimble and fast and is really something to watch! She came to us from Oklahoma and is thought to be an approximately 2 year old Black Mouth Cur/Weimaraner mix. Athena is a medium sized dog who loves to play with both other dogs and humans and is new to cats but shows no aggression! She gets along swimmingly with literally everyone and everything she’s met, she’s an absolute gem!! Her bright personality and energy make her the perfect addition to any home. Whether you're looking for a new best friend to take on outdoor adventures or a cuddly buddy to snuggle up with on the couch, Athena is the dog for you. With her athletic ability, shes also got great hops, so we would recommend a home that can teach her fence line boundaries as she could easily clear one if she wants to. Apply for Athena and come meet her at our Wellington facility!

Story
Pammi is guessed to be a 1-1/2 yr old Black Mouth Cur mix. and is ready to be loved! Look at how striking she is in the photographs and she is even more beautiful in person.  This gorgeous girl is a bit shy at first, but is learning how good it is to be loved by humans. We don't know much about her history but we can tell she was never socialized. Due to never being socialized or being in a loving home, she will do best with a confident canine buddy in her future home and a VERY patient adopter. She needs a loving person or family to show her how good life can be as a beloved family member. Once she trusts you she loves to be cuddled so if you have a warm lap and love to give, she is the right dog for you! She loves her kennel and feels very safe in it.   She sleeps through the night and naps during the day in it. She will need a 6 foot fenced yard and someone who will patiently teach her to walk on a leash until she gains confidence with you and her new surroundings.  This beautiful girl is waiting patiently to find her FurEver Family and is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes and rehabilitates timid, shy, scared or unsocialized dogs. She is absolutely adorable and her eyes will melt your heart! Her foster mom thinks she would do better in a quiet home with adults or older children to work with her. Another confident dog could be helpful as she loves other dogs, but not necessary if the adopter can help her continue on her confidence journey. Her foster mom has an amazing rehabilitation protocol to help these scared dogs and is working with her on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, kennel training, doggie door training and if time permits, leash and car training. She also has an amazing group of volunteers that meet twice a week to help socialize all the scared foster dogs in her care. There are lots of other dogs at her foster mom's house so we know she is dog friendly. Her foster doesn't have any cats but thinks she would be fine with them if introduced slowly and properly. She will need an adopter who will give her love and patience. Please consider this adorable dog as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs, who adore their humans. Her foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter, who is willing to do a minimum of one paid training session with her. This training session is NOT basic obedience, but instead, is designed for rescue dogs and teaches the adopter how to work to build the dogs confidence and overcome any trauma the dog may have experienced. This training is to teach the adopter how to continue the rehabilitation protocol that will help the dog be successful in their new home.  The training will help the family and this sweet dog bond and to adjust to their new life together much quicker than trying to do it on your own. The foster provides a discount on training to her adopters. The dogs that she fosters truly need an adopter to be their hero and offer them lots of time, patience, love and a safe environment that they can continue to grow in confidence.
