HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED! I'm Moose, and not to brag, but I'm probably your perfect dog. Are you looking for a dog that's very well trained, non-destructive, good with other dogs, great with kids, good with cats, super easy around the house, and able to go on as long of walks as you want? Then I'm your man! I currently live in an apartment and am doing very well, I'm quiet and well-mannered, but I'd also do well in a house. I come when called, sit when asked, and go to my place when the command is given. I enjoy being around people and give affection freely, my foster dad thinks I'm an awesome cuddler! I previously lived with cats and know how to share my space with feline friends. I don't get riled by chaos and do well with children of all ages. I'm such a lover and so gentle with everyone, even young children! I'm the perfect work from home companion as I'm quiet around the house, but I also do very well being left home alone. I never ever chew or destroy anything at home, and my foster dad fully trusts me to be alone in the house when he's away, even for several hours at a time. I sleep through the night in a dog bed and don't bother my foster dad at all throughout the night. Sorry, I'm just not the type of dog who will wake you up in the middle of the night! With me, you can sleep soundly in your bed, dreaming of the fun we'll have tomorrow while I sleep in mine. I never ever go potty in the house and am, of course, fully potty trained. I am such a friendly guy and greet new friends with gentle nose nudges. I enjoy the company of other dogs and would do well with a dog friend or as a solo dog, I really am just super easy! I don't want to be the star of the show but instead just a loyal friend ready for adventures with my human but also content lounging around the house.  I'm not annoying, but I am affectionate and want to be near my people.  I'm the type of dog you've been waiting for, please meet me today and find out for yourself if I am your perfect dog! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##435406##

Story
Emma Black Mouth Cur/ American Pitbull Terrier Mix Female 1.5 years old 42 lbs. Meet Emma, a charming pooch full of love and affection! She's an incredibly sweet dog who adores humans of all kinds. Emma is a cuddle enthusiast, always seeking scratches and kisses. She's medium-energy, but equally content to spend the day lounging and recharging with naps. She's the perfect match for those seeking a young, calm and incredibly affectionate dog that adores snuggling, without the challenges of puppyhood. Emma's excitement is palpable—she showcases a happy wiggle butt when greeting you and flashes a toothy smile when she's thrilled. Outdoors, she unleashes her playful side with zoomies, but is also a fan of cozy cuddles and scratches. While she hasn't had extensive training, she's proficient on a leash and is fantastic on both walks and runs. She knows basic commands like “wait”, “sit” and “ok” and is fully house-trained and crate trained. Barking is a rare occurrence for her. Emma is very eager to be where you are, but understands when you need your space. She has great manners and is a tidy eater—no need to worry about any counter surfing with her! Emma prefers the company of humans so she would like to be your one and only pet. But her abundant personality and affection mean that having her as the only pet in your home will be incredibly fulfilling – you won't feel the need for another furry companion! It's important for her to be in a home where she can receive the individual attention and training she needs to manage her interactions with other pets. She's a hit with kids over 8, but her playful energy might be a bit much for younger ones—she's just so excited to play that she might accidentally knock them over! She's also very friendly with new people and just needs a bit of help in managing her excitement. Emma is a playful soul and would adore chew toys, enjoys chasing balls/frisbees, relishes tug-of-war and adores treat puzzles. She shows enthusiasm for food and is trainable, although she's in the process of learning and could benefit from more practice. Emma, the loving canine, seeks a supportive and attentive family to assist her in blooming and experiencing her best life as an adored pet. She looks forward to relishing walks and hikes, embracing the spirit of a true Colorado dog! Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. We look forward to meeting you!

Story
Frosty was named after her frosty face. Found struggling to survive on the bad side of San Antonio Texas. She made an attempt to get help from all surrounding homes near the street she slept and not one person gave her a chance. That was until one of our Texas fosters came across her. She was so hungry she had to be given a slow feeder for the first week of decompression. She is a very old soul extremely loving. She's an older girl in her golden years she not the type to take long extended walks but she will keep you company while you watch a movie. Frosty also enjoys the company of other submissive dogs but would also benefit from being the only pup in your life. Frosty is comfortable with children as well.  ##2006340##

Story
Hello, my name is Tux. I was dumped and my foster mom found me. I get along with other dogs. Been to boarding and didn't have any complaints. I'm skittish of cats. Still trying to figure them out. I tried to befriend one and coward when it hissed at me. I'm about 1 year old. I'm trying to figure out you humans too. Skittish @ first but I'm sweet once I gets to know ya.  Love hugs and kisses. I pull on leash but that can be corrected. Love to go for rides. Just don't leave the window all the way down or I'll try to jump out. My foster mom uses a doggie seatbelt on me. If you're interested, make sure you can commit to me 110%!  You move, I move with you! I have some anxiety issues. Anxious about being left alone again .... want a home base w/lots of love that I can share w/you. I have a tendency of trying to dig. I am an EXPERT climber. Your yard MUST be dog proof! I need basic command training. My foster mom is trying to teach me some. My foster grandma says I have the spirit of a horse. That I love to be free and wild. Love nature ... gives me peace.... love to take you for a walk and show you my world... come walk w/me. I'm young and curious...yet love to sit next to you too. Help me w/my next journey . I can love you unconditionally. Plus...I'm handsome .Someone active would be ideal for me! ##2050899##

Story
Hi, I'm Precious! I am a 5 month old Black Mouth Cur mix. I came to the shelter with my 7 other siblings! I'm still a puppy, full of energy and love. I love to play, and I'm always up for a good game. I'm sweet and cuddly, too. I love to curl up in a warm lap and give lots of puppy kisses. I'm a quick learner, too. I'm potty trained as long as I am kept on a good scheuldue. I am also crate trained, so I won't make a mess in your house. I promise to be a good girl and make you proud. I'm just looking for a family to love me as much as I'll love them. Adopting me means gaining a loyal friend who will bring joy, laughter, and love into your life. So, what do you say? Will you be my forever family? If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. No need to call to find out about me, you can ask questions on the application or email questions to info@polkcountyhumanesociety.org. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##1946543##

Story
Hey there, I'm Roxi! My journey to the shelter? Well, it all started with my siblings and I, the Paw Patrol Pups, playing a game of hide and seek. I'm smart and brave, so naturally, I found the best hiding spot. Turns out, it was a delivery truck. Before I knew it, I was on a surprise adventure across town! Don't worry, a friendly human found me and brought me here. Now, I spend my days being sweet, playful, and a little goofy. I've got energy to spare and I'm curious about everything. I'm just looking for a forever friend who can match my zest for life. Adopt me, and let's start our adventure together! ##1946540##
