Story
Some dogs have so much love to give when given the chance and Remi is just that girl. Remi started her young life in an unfortunate and sad situation. She had injuries stemming from neglect and life on the streets. Because, of a good Samaritan she was brought to a shelter which started her journey of healing. She has been nursed back to health and ready to take the next step of her journey towards her forever family. She is an affectionate girl and loves people. Remi Is a Black Mouth Cur mix at 8 months old and 30 pounds which is considered a medium sized dog. It is estimated that she will remain medium size which is up to 60 pounds when she is fully grown.Remi is an active girl with lots of energy to expend. She would love to spend her time hanging out at a dog park, partaking in doggy day care or running around in secured outdoor setting with her carefree nature. She is ready to open her heart and love everyone she meets. Dogs and children will always be welcomed in her circle of friends. As for cats, we have concluded that cats would not share her enthusiasm for the game of chase so she would need a home without a feline resident. She can be a bit nervous when introduced to new environments, but she is a quick learner and warms up in a short amount of time. When she is not being the resident watch dog, she enjoys spending her time snuggling. Remi is house and crate trained. She sleeps all night in her crate. Her leash walking skills are still a work in progress. She would benefit from regular walks to practice her skills and meet new people and dogs. It is important to remember that although Remi is house trained, potty accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. She has so many wonderful years ahead of her to become an integral part of your family. The memories that will be created will be ones to share with family and friends. Going on hikes and walking around the neighborhood, or just snuggling on the couch with her forever family is where Remi wants to be.She is eagerly seeking a happily ever after family to call her own and who will wrap her in their arms and give her love and be loved all the live long day.The adoption fee for Remi is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. Story
Ace sure has shown that he has a lucky name. A handsome sturdy 3 year old Black Mouth Cur mixed breed, Ace had the good fortune to be pulled from a high kill shelter by a Good Samaritan so he could come to Connecticut and find his forever home.Ace is a big boy at 63 pounds with plenty of energy for fun and games and a heart open and ready to receive plenty of cuddles as well. He is equally at home with dogs and children. It is not known whether Ace is happy hanging out with cats.Ace is working on his house and crate training and does well on a leash. He is a happy boy who will continue to learn so long as he gets daily lessons with plenty of positive reinforcement and love. Rescue dogs can have accidents as they become accustomed to a new home, new family and new routines. If crate training is planned, Ace needs a crate that is big enough for him to stand and turn around in as well as lie down comfortably. Crates should be cozy, happy places for dogs to hang out and never used for punishment. The Ace is the top card in the deck and high-spirited Ace is ready for whatever good fortune and good times are awaiting him in his new forever home. The adoption fee for Ace is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
