Pluto Mars is with our partner rescue in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ soon. We do offer a foster to adopt trial for approved adopters! Pluto Mars is described as a big goofy pup who will win you over with his puppy dog eyes! He was taken in by a kind family was not taking proper care of him. When he grew too large for their care they asked for our partner rescue's help. He loves all dogs but would do best with a dog his size since he doesn't know his strength. Pluto Mars knows basic commands. He would LOVE another dog his size to play with. Pluto Mars was cat tested and did OK but he doesn't live with cats so we aren't certain how he would do in a home with them. Pluto Mars is fixed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He tested negative for heartworm. Pluto Mars' adoption fee is $550. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! Meet Bruce! Bruce is a 10 month old puppy, very handsome, very energetic, black mouth cur & german shepherd mix (we think)! As a baby, Bruce found himself being given away at a Farmer’s Market in South Jersey. Thankfully he was able to find refuge in a loving foster home for the past 6 months. However, Bruce has decided his current foster family of couch potatoes isn’t quite the adventure he was hoping for- and is looking for a family of his own who can better meet his needs. Bruce has lived with other dogs and cats. He loves to play! Bruce could go home to a compatible dog-sibling(s). He is learning how to play more respectfully with dogs who don't share his excitement. Bruce would make a fierce running partner, or skateboarding, biking- any sort of outdoor activity, really! Bruce is working hard on his leash manners and knows sit, paw, come -and is learning wait, leave it, & down! Bruce does not like his crate, and may do better in a home where someone can be home for him or allow him to stay out of his crate. He is housebroken. Introduction to new cats would have to be very slow and cautious, although Bruce lives with cats currently, he is known to chase. Bruce is a very excitable boy, it is best that he goes to a home without small children. He could potentially do well with mature teenagers. He is recently neutered, up to date on all his shots, & is also microchipped. Bruce will go home with a raised food bowl, wonder walker harness, & a bag of dog food! If you look back to earlier pictures of Santino, it's obvious that he is growing up with us. Growing up in a shelter is no way to grow up! Santino is 2 years old, if that, and he needs a stable and loving home already. He arrived in August of 2023 as a stray and due to his need for a pet and kid-free home, it's made it difficult for Santino to get discovered. Please don't pass him up! Santino is smart and knows perfectly well to behave, he just needs someone that will direct him. He'll jump and twist and even get a little grabby while playing but he means no harm and if you guide him to behave, he most certainly will. He knows how to walk perfectly on a leash, sit, stay, lay down, and he even takes treats very gently. Story

Kahlua is an 8-month-old pup with the biggest heart. She was rescued from under a porch in Georgia with the rest of her siblings when she was just days old by Waldo's Rescue Pen, and has been living in New York City with foster parents since. Kahlua has been spayed, has all her vaccines, and completed a 6 week "Fundamentals" training course. Potty training was a challenge because this city girl was raised with pee pads, but now she knows not to pee inside and can make it 4-5 hours during the day without having an accident! She sleeps through the night in her crate, and spends her days playing with her toys and our other dog. She loves to snuggle and lives for pets! She does have a lot of energy, and does much better during the day if we're able to take her to the dog park in the morning to run around. An ideal home for her would be with an owner who works from home, has some outdoor space for her to run around, and maybe has another dog already.
