Story
Duke is a loving guy who weighs just under 70lbs.  He is a sweetheart.  Shy at first but once he opens his heart, he will totally capture yours! His playfulness and energy does not show his age.  He's still got all the pep in his step and loves to play!  Tug of War is his favorite game.  He loves to chase balls and zoom around the yard like a puppy at times.  Duke loves sunbathing, walks great on a leash and does well in the car.  Snacks are definately one of his favoritest things ever. Duke is crate trained, potty trained, knows basic commands and even does well getting his nails done and visiting the vet.He is very treat and toy motivated and it brings him much joy to make his humans happy! NO CATS or small animals for Duke please.  He does well with other, friendly dogs with slow introduction.  He can have intense, playful energy but for the right dog, would make a great companion.  Duke would also be more than happy being the only pet in the home.  Duke prefers older (if any) children.  The "chaos" that sometimes comes with smaller children in a home, make him nervous and he will try to get away from them.  He does great with older or more experienced children. He loves to share the bed with his people, and will always let you know if there is a stranger at the gate or someone at the door!  Duke is big, strong and often clumsy, but he is also a love and a joy to spend time with. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.  Duke is heartworm negative and on ProHeart 12 for heartworm prevention. He is totally set until November 2025! Meet Littlefoot! This little tripod is one of the sweetest pups you’ll ever meet. She was found as a stray along with her puppies in South Texas a few months ago. Since rescuing her, we have gotten her fully vetted which included amputating her front limb, as she was born with a deformity that was causing her some pain. She’s a little over a year old, good with dogs, but prefers a mellow companion. She’s extremely sweet with people and would like to be a cuddle partner for hours on end. She’s also potty trained and crate trained. She has not been cat tested so unfortunately, we do not know how she would do with kitties. Because Littlefoot was a "street dog" the first year of her life, new things can be scary at first. So we will require a patient leader that can teach her that the world is not a scary place. Our trainer will be happy to continue to work with her on confidence building once she enters into your home, as all of our pups come with 3 free at home sessions with one of our trainers. Hi! I'm Vivi! I'm an approximately 18 month old, female, Cattledog/Husky mix who weighs about 46 lbs. I was found on Valerie Place in Rockwall on 03/26/2025 and never reclaimed. I am very friendly and love to interact and play with my people. I am learning a few tricks and working on my basic commands. I am a bouncy girl who is eager to please. I appear to do well with other dogs but a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters are to date, and I'm heartworm negative!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. Hi! I'm Sonic! I'm an approximately 3 year old, male, Heeler/ Aussie mix who weighs about 45 lbs. I was found with a friend on Firewheel Drive in Rockwall County and brought to the shelter on 04/12/2025. Sadly, I was never reclaimed. I am a goofy boy who enjoys the company of other dogs and people of all ages! I am not suggested with cats or dogs smaller than I am. I enjoy long walks and snoozing on a comfy bed. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccine and basic boosters. I did test positive for heartworms but thanks to Rockwall PAWS, I will be able to receive treatment for my heartworm disease at little to no cost to my adopter.
