Duke is a loving guy who weighs just under 70lbs. He is a sweetheart. Shy at first but once he opens his heart, he will totally capture yours! His playfulness and energy does not show his age. He's still got all the pep in his step and loves to play! Tug of War is his favorite game. He loves to chase balls and zoom around the yard like a puppy at times. Duke loves sunbathing, walks great on a leash and does well in the car. Snacks are definately one of his favoritest things ever. Duke is crate trained, potty trained, knows basic commands and even does well getting his nails done and visiting the vet.He is very treat and toy motivated and it brings him much joy to make his humans happy! NO CATS or small animals for Duke please. He does well with other, friendly dogs with slow introduction. He can have intense, playful energy but for the right dog, would make a great companion. Duke would also be more than happy being the only pet in the home. Duke prefers older (if any) children. The "chaos" that sometimes comes with smaller children in a home, make him nervous and he will try to get away from them. He does great with older or more experienced children. He loves to share the bed with his people, and will always let you know if there is a stranger at the gate or someone at the door! Duke is big, strong and often clumsy, but he is also a love and a joy to spend time with. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Duke is heartworm negative and on ProHeart 12 for heartworm prevention. He is totally set until November 2025! Meet Leo! He is a 8yr old neutered Australian Cattle dog, possibly some shepherd, that weighs 44lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/16 as a stray. It`s possible he may have a few other breeds in his mix. Doesn’t matter tho, as he is very handsome and will charm you with his smile. He loves to get out of his kennel and go for walks to stretch his legs. He passes by the other dogs barking at him with no issues to go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Taking in all the smells, with that constant smile on his face. He found a few stuffed toys that he enjoyed tossing around. He enjoys being petted and loved on and on occasion he may give you a kiss. He also knows the sit command and takes treats gently. He would love to have an active family to take him for walks, and have a secured yard to play in. Most importantly live indoors so he can enjoy family time with his human companions. You can’t go wrong with this wonderful guy. Come meet Leo!

Why is Sapphire still at the Mesquite Animal Shelter after having arrived as a stray on 3/31? She is a 10yr old spayed female Australian Cattle dog that weighs 70lbs. Dog Scanner app suggests Catahoula Leopard in the mix too. She is a happy-go-lucky, lively, active girl with a winsome personality, stunning ice blue/gray eyes and a beautiful coat! She walks well on a leash. She may be house trained too. She knows the sit command and will do so for treats which she takes gently. She is well behaved, calm, and gentle with a moderate activity level. She had such a great time in the yard, stretching her legs and getting some exercise. Her perfect forever home would be one in which she would have a yard to move about in and yet spend the majority of her time inside with her people cuddled up on a warm, soft bed and enjoying her golden years in luxury!

Cosmo is a very playful and loving dog. He is just a puppy although he looks big he is only 6 months old. He knows how to sit and lay but not fully potty trained. He is a doberman although I think he is mixed with either greyhound or Shepherd because he loves to run & is very fast. He loves treats/bones, belly rubs & playing with his ball just be careful with your shoes! He likes to explore and sleep in the bed lol. I would like him to go to a good home with a lot of space for him to run. I am a single parent and we are moving soon so we unfortunately cant keep him.
