Meet Kylee! She is a 1 1/2 yr old female Lacy mix that weighs 49 lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 8/28. This girl is a beauty! She is a big lovebug! She will put her hands on my legs and let you give her plenty of petting and kisses. She walks great on a leash, and takes treats gently. On occasion she will chase a ball and sometimes bring it back . Mixed in with her beautiful coat are speckles of white on her head. She enjoyed running through the yard stretching her legs. She did see another dog outside our gate and did begin barking at him, not in an aggressive way, and the other dog did not respond the same back. We do always ask if there will be another dog in the home to please ask the shelter for a dog test. She would love to find her very own family that she can spend time with in a secured yard, then come back inside and cuddle close with her human companions. She is a lovely gentle girl with such a beautiful smile! Come meet Kylee!

Meet handsome Blue!  Blue is a 1 1/2 year old 45 lb, pittie mix. He is up to date on shots, neutered, and microchipped.  Blue is heartworm positive, but being treated.   Blue is incredibly intelligent and highly treat motivated which makes him a breeze to train. He is also very human focused and eager to please. Blue has  also been working on recall and shows great promise. Blue is going to be most successful with a VERY active family. A Mom or Dad who is looking for a running partner would be ideal. He’s a great size, not too big and easily managed. He is crate trained. Blue is a good boy who just wants to where you are and he does pretty well with other dogs at his same energy level. Duke is a fun-loving thick guy with a tail like a whip!  Duke is very strong and has bursts of high energy during play.  He loves to chew, and tug-o-war is his favorite game!  He loves to chase (and destroy) tennis balls, and has a high drive to chase in general.  Duke does well with other friendly dogs, especially given the opportunity to do a slow introduction.  He has an intense energy while playing, but absolutely loves it.  For the right dog he would make a great companion.  However, Duke is also happy to be the only dog in a home.  He loves to share the bed with his people, and will always let you know if there is a stranger at the gate or someone at the door!  He's a great alert dog.  He enjoys sunbathing and snacks, and does very well when getting his nails dremmels and trimmed.  Duke has opened up to new people significantly since arriving with us, and is crate trained.  He responds well to correction from both humans and other dogs.  He does NOT do well with cats!  Duke is stronger than he thinks, and will sometimes run into things and trip overhimself.  It's funny most of the time, but he can be a bit of a bull in a china cabinet lol. Duke could use some work on leash training, but is house broken and doesn't get into many things he shouldn't as long as he has his toys to play with.  :). If you're interested in meeting this baby, please reach out or submit an application on our website. She is a very sweet dog. She loves our kids and is already learning some commands through reward training. Our one and only reason for needing to find her a home is that she does not get along with our chickens. She has gotten 3 and we’ve stopped her multiple other times. So if you don’t have chickens she would be a great dog. We will be sad to see her go but we have invested a ton of money into our flock and coop so we can’t have them harmed.
