Duke is a loving guy who weighs just under 70lbs. He is a sweetheart. Shy at first but once he opens his heart, he will totally capture yours! His playfulness and energy does not show his age. He's still got all the pep in his step and loves to play! Tug of War is his favorite game. He loves to chase balls and zoom around the yard like a puppy at times. Duke loves sunbathing, walks great on a leash and does well in the car. Snacks are definately one of his favoritest things ever. Duke is crate trained, potty trained, knows basic commands and even does well getting his nails done and visiting the vet.He is very treat and toy motivated and it brings him much joy to make his humans happy! NO CATS or small animals for Duke please. He does well with other, friendly dogs with slow introduction. He can have intense, playful energy but for the right dog, would make a great companion. Duke would also be more than happy being the only pet in the home. Duke prefers older (if any) children. The "chaos" that sometimes comes with smaller children in a home, make him nervous and he will try to get away from them. He does great with older or more experienced children. He loves to share the bed with his people, and will always let you know if there is a stranger at the gate or someone at the door! Duke is big, strong and often clumsy, but he is also a love and a joy to spend time with. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Duke is heartworm negative and on ProHeart 12 for heartworm prevention. He is totally set until November 2025! Dixie was a rescue from an abusive household that I took in a few months ago! She is a very sweet and loving girl. I am looking for somebody that can give her a loving home so that she may continue to be happy while we are trying to get into our apartment and are expecting a baby here soon! We cannot afford her any longer as well as the pet deposit to get into apartment. :( She would be a great companion for any household!! Meet Marjorie! Marjorie is a beautiful brindle pit bull mix, about 42 pounds, at 2 years old, and is so deserving of a forever home! She has been through a lot in her short life including being a wonderful mama to a 9-pup litter in the fall of 2023 around the time she was rescued by Saving Hope, plus overcoming heartworms and a bad respiratory virus that nearly took her life. Marjorie is stronger and healthier than ever now; her puppies found homes, now she is eagerly waiting for hers!She does wonderfully in her crate at night and during the day when her foster mom is at work. As she is not destructive, once she is settled into her forever home (generally 3 weeks to 3 months depending on the dog), she can be left out of her kennel. As with so many dogs, she is naturally nervous in new situations, and thus needs continued work on building confidence. She thrives with clear direction from her person and positive feedback when she does the right thing – she tries her very best to follow all the rules! She has the cutest tippy-tap dance when excited, waiting for a treat, or when she’s working on a skill.While there are no children in her current foster home, she loves everyone and would likely do well with children 10+ as she appreciates her space being respected and a calm household would help her adjust faster.Marjorie loves nothing more than to keep busy managing squirrels and lizards in the yard. This is her main energy outlet currently, so a backyard would be ideal. She needs at least a 6-foot tall fence when off leash because this girl is athletic… anyone want an agility dog? She might be it! She exhibits prey drive tendencies so cats, small dogs or other small animals are not a good fit. She takes breaks to sunbathe and would be content to do this nonstop, but she listens well when it’s time to come inside.Marjorie is threshold trained and is working on leash skills for walks using a prong collar and cues/guidance to walk alongside her human. She gets excited at the sight of other creatures but will sit on command until her person is ready to go. When it’s time to rest, she is very respectful of furniture but if she is invited up, she will be more than happy to cuddle.Marjorie is very quiet unless she is barking at a squirrel or playing with her foster brother, who she has become quite close to (a boxer/pit bull mix). Meet Billy Jo!Billy Jo is the sweetest 2-year-old American Blue Heeler mix pup. She was found as a stray, with her litter of puppies. She has been spayed and his up-to-date with all her vaccines. She was found to be heartworm positive and went through heartworm treatment. She has completed her heartworm treatment and can not wait to play with her foster sisters again. She is house trained and does not need a crate. She is non destructive and will sleep on the floor or couch all day while her fosters are at work. She loves everyone she meets, adults and children. She is a tall girl, but she does not jump up when she meets new people.Because of her size, apartment living would not be appropriate for this girl. A home with other dogs would be fine, but Billy Jo would also thrive as the only dog in the home. After everything she has been through, Billy Jo is ready to find her furever home.
