Story
Courtesy post "Riley  is estimated to be a 2 year old blue tick/ Catahoula hound mix that was originally surrendered to Paw Prints Vet in WV. He was adopted on March 1st after getting neutered and vaccinated on February 24th. Unfortunately, we cannot provide him his forever home because we do not have the time or space he needs to be cared for permanently. He loves cuddling and is great with humans, including kids. He does well with submissive dogs, but does not handle reactive or loud dogs well. He is very skittish with some dogs and would be better off in a home without pets and with someone who can run him often and put in the time to train him since he has separation anxiety.  We are located in Westminster, MD and we'd like to get him a home ASAP, as the person whose dog was bit is unwilling to live in the home until the dog is no longer on the property. None of the dogs pictured are the one that was bit. He had no issues with other dogs prior. Contact Kenai at  4439740674  April 13, 2024, 9:46 am

. Harvey is our resident love bug. He wants nothing more than ear scratches and belly rubs. Harvey will nudge you ever so gently to get your attention for more rubs. He has good leash manners and enjoys going on walks. Harvey also enjoys jogging with his human companions. He would do best in a home where he is the one and only. He is selfish and wants all the loving for himself. Harvey would do best in a home with older kids. He is crate trained and house trained.  He is part blue tick hound which gives him a cute, unique barkish howl.  Make Harvey your companion for life.  Harvey is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and altered.Harvey is located in Harper, Texas but can be transported to any location in the US or Canada for adoption. ##1499366##

Story
King is a purebred Bluetick Coonhound, we call him a "Coonie" - he was a hunting hound in NC and came from a shelter there. King is a friendly hound, but can be protective of his food (he is absolutely fine as long as he is not afraid of his food might be stolen) so he should be in a home without children, or with children over 12. King is great with other dogs, typical of hounds - he is not dominant at all. He loves to play with other dogs and with toys! Being a hound, he must have a securely fenced yard and never be off-leash outside the fenced yard. King will be a wonderful family companion for someone lucky enough to know how awesome hounds can be!

These pups are in Westminster, Maryland too!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- HARRY IS LISTED AS A COURTESY TO ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.ASK NOT WHAT THIS HOUND CAN DO FOR YOU,BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THIS HOUND.Harry Neil is a 10 year old walker hound who recently came to us when he no longer wanted to hunt. Having lived life on a chain, Harry Neil is now enjoying romping in a fenced yard, interacting with other dogs in his foster home and soaking up all the attention. Harry is kind and quiet and surpisingly petite! The mass on his face is a damaged salivary gland. Nothing can be done for it but it does not hurt or bother him. Henry is looking for a compassionate family who understands that he missed out on a lot of things while pursing a career in hunting. He will need extra support with house training and basic manners. Henry Neil deserves a comfy home with a wonderful family to enjoy the rest of his life! He'll pay you in kindness and gratitude.(We do not recommend hunting hounds for homes with cats.)A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Harry Neil, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. I'm a 3 1/2 year old hound! I love being with my humans and my other dog brother who is a chihuahua, but I don't like all dogs, so slow introductions are necessary. I don't really do well with kids. I'd need to be with a family with no kids. I am a little leery of strangers, so it takes me a little bit to trust adults. But after that I'm all yours! I love being outside, taking walks, and curling up on my dog bed. If you are looking for a new companion, look no further! Please consider adopting me!  My owner is also willing to provide several bags of food with my adoption. If you are interested in adopting Scout, please contact: Tim Rodrigo rodrigo40@verizon.net Phone: 717-756-4687Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 13, 2024, 8:58 pm

Her foster is very impressed with her and says; 'She is sooooo sweet! Only had 2 accidents in the house and nothing in the crate. She is like a magnet. Likes to be right by your side and is learning to play with toys. Doesn’t really pay mind to my dogs at all she wags her tail but doesn’t try to engage' She represents all that is wonderful about beagles. Because she is a hound, we will require a physical fencing for her to keep her and her nose from following any irrestible scents and to keep her safe. She is interested in everything and is going to make your walks more fun than you can imagine, as she points out all the great stuff along the way that you have been missing without her. A lovely temperament and a desire to keep herself clean are such good qualities. Bringing Honey into your life is a good choice if you like smiling, kisses, and a best friend who wants to be with you. She promises to listen to everything you say and not tell another soul! If you are interested in Honey, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 13, 2024, 8:58 pm
