Story
Bagheera (Bug) is a 2-ish-year-old neutered male Bombay. He is sleek, all-black, and full of personality — energetic, playful, and loves people and kids. He gets the zoomies daily and has a big appetite. He is affectionate and social with humans, but does not get along with other cats, which is why we are rehoming him. We found him as a stray toward the end of last year and have given him a loving home since. We are looking for a home with no other cats where he can be the star of the show and get all the attention he deserves. He will thrive with an owner who has energy to match his and space to run. Bagheera is truly special, and we want nothing but the best for him.

FEBUARY 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes, and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. CINDERELLA and several feline family members were saved from a horrific hoarding case in Riverside, California. We know they are all related because the horrible human woman, kept letting them mate. When the Rescue Mama found out she took action. As of July 2025, 78 cats have either gone to other rescues or have been saved by us. You will know who these cats are by their names. They have all been named after the show "Once Upon A Time". Aside from the necklaces the kitties wear in their professional pictures, Rescue Mama names her rescue cats after shows she is currently watching at the time she saves them. Meet CINDERELLA, a delightful Domestic Shorthair from a tough past, now searching for a new loving home where she can shine in all her sassy sweetness. With her soft, Bombay fur and big, bright eyes, she’ll capture your heart in a heartbeat. CINDERELLA might have had a challenging start in life—she came from a hoarding situation involving over 100 cats—but that hasn’t dampened her vibrant spirit one bit. CINDERELLA is a true connoisseur of love and attention. She’s sweet as pie but can definitely hold her own when it comes to getting what she wants. You’ll often find her rubbing up against furniture, doors, or even your legs, claiming her space in the world with a gentle nudge. She’s playful, full of energy, and ready to be the center of attention when the moment strikes. If you’ve got treats, you’ve got her full attention—she goes absolutely wild for them! Although CINDERELLA was surrounded by other cats in her past, she’s shown she gets along wonderfully with them, so she’s sure to fit in well with your feline family. As for dogs, she’s lived with them before, but the specifics of their interactions remain a mystery. With some patience and positive reinforcement, she’s likely to adapt to a new canine companion, especially if given the space to feel comfortable and safe. CINDERELLA’s not just about the cuddles (though she’s definitely into those, too). She has a quirky side, often rubbing herself up against anything she can find—furniture, walls, or even your hands—claiming her territory in the most adorable way. This sweet, sassy girl needs a patient caregiver who can show her the love and stability she’s been waiting for. Are you ready to give CINDERELLA a second chance at a life filled with treats, attention, and endless love? Apply today at Workinwhiskers.com if your looking for a sassy, loving companion you’ve been looking for! What’s the first thing you’ll do when she rubs up against you for a treat? Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. CASSANDRA had 6 kittens in a very dangerous industrial recycle center in Compton, California. The babies were born in a abandoned car inside the recycling plant. The trapper was able to get the kittens to safety and went back for mom. Kittens were sent out to a rescue in San Diego, California. And once mom was caught, the trapper discovered she was a very super sweet, purring machine!! Meet CASSANDRA, a sassy, sweet, and feisty tuxedo kitty from Compton, California, who is equal parts cuddly and commanding! With her classic black-and-white fur coat, this chubby little diva has perfected the art of being the center of attention, but only when she’s in the mood. She’s got that special “I’m in charge” attitude that makes her both endearing and, let’s face it, a bit bossy! CASSANDRA might be large in size, but don’t let that fool you—she’s also got a big personality. She absolutely adores her 3-tier toy, the one with those colorful balls that keep her engaged for hours. You’ll often find her batting the balls around, her little paws a blur of movement. It’s her favorite way to unwind, and she’s become a master at rolling the balls just the right way to make them bounce with that perfect thwack sound. If there’s one thing CASSANDRA does, it’s play with purpose. As much as she enjoys her playful independence, CASSANDRA is also a fan of affection—but on her terms, of course. She loves receiving pets when she’s ready for them, but if she's not feeling it, she’ll make sure you know with a quick glance or a soft swat (nothing too serious, just a reminder that she’s the boss!). When CASSANDRA is in the mood for cuddles, though, she’s as sweet as can be, curling up next to you and purring with contentment as if you’ve won her favor for the day. She can be the queen of your lap, but you’ll need to earn it! Her unique purring will absolutely make you fall in love with her! CASSANDRA is best suited for a home where she can rule the roost, making her own rules but also sharing her love when she chooses. She’s playful, independent, and ready to bring her unique charm into a family that appreciates her spirited nature. She does do ok with cats with proper introduction. Are you ready to let this feisty little lady take the lead in her new loving home? CASSANDRA is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / BOMBAY-TUXEDO MIX. Honestly we are not sure what she is. She's not a full TUXEDO, but she's not a full BOMBAY either. She is about 3 years and 7 months old. She is ok with cats that won't be mean to her. She has never been around dogs that we are aware of or children. CASSANDRA is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. MARCH 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). A Shadow of Misunderstanding, A Heart of Gold! MARISOL VERA was once just one of ten cats saved from a local shelter, a rescue mission that was particularly poignant due to the undeserved stigma so many black cats face. Unfortunately, these superstitions seem to have cast a long shadow over her journey. One by one, her ten siblings and friends found their forever homes, leaving MARISOL VERA to wait patiently. She is now the last of her litter, a bittersweet reality for such a sweet and loving feline. MARISOL VERA's story isn't one of hardship but of quiet independence. It's true she isn't fond of being picked up; she prefers to keep all four paws on the ground, exploring the world on her own terms. She loves a good solo play session, batting at toys or chasing sunbeams across the floor. This confident, independent streak is part of her charm. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to ask for it, particularly when it comes to her favorite canned food. But don't mistake her sass for aloofness—she is sweet and loving, offering affection freely when the mood strikes. She might not be a lap cat on demand, but she will shower you with love and attention exactly when you need it most. Her perfect match will be a family that understands and cherishes her unique personality. MARISOL VERA isn't just looking for a home; she's looking for a partner who will love and appreciate her for who she is: a playful, sassy, and affectionate companion who loves on her own time. While she could be an only cat, she is also very fond of male cats, suggesting she might thrive with a calm, understanding feline brother. With her playful spirit, a family that provides a home filled with warmth, toys, and plenty of delicious meals will find a loyal and loving friend in this one-of-a-kind girl. MARISOL VERA is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / BOMBAY MIX. She is about 3 years and 5 months old. She is good with cats. In her foster home, she was around other kittens and older cats. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. MYSTERY was saved from a rescuer that was a horrible hoarder. Well fast forward, the lady was killed by a drunk driver. We were asked to help with her rescues and to our dismay, her house was a horrific hoarding case. We pulled 55 cats that were still alive. Our rescue took 26 of those cats into out rescue. MYSTERY had to get healthy and social. He is now ready for adoption. Meet MYSTERY, a spirited Bombay cat from Lucerne Valley, California, whose sleek black coat gleams like midnight and whose personality is a bundle of affection and charm. MYSTERY has emerged from a challenging beginning, having been rescued from a hoarding situation where he was malnourished and shy. Today, he is a sweet, confident cat who is eager to share love, conversation, and companionship with the right caregiver. MYSTERY is a talkative little gentleman who enjoys engaging with his human friends and sharing his opinion in his soft, endearing voice. He thrives on gentle pets and a cozy lap to curl into, and his favorite treat is wet food, which always brings out his happy little purrs. Despite his rocky start, he has grown into a playful, loving companion who finds joy in everyday moments and in the company of other cats. His gentle, social nature makes him a wonderful companion for feline friends, and he seems to flourish when surrounded by other kitties. He is looking for a patient and loving home where he can continue to grow into his full playful and affectionate personality. MYSTERY responds beautifully to care, attention, and positive reinforcement, and he is ready to form deep bonds with a family who appreciates a cat with character, charm, and a touch of chatter. His playful antics, soft purring, and sweet personality are sure to bring laughter and warmth to anyone who opens their heart to him. Every day with MYSTERY promises the simple joys of companionship, whether it’s watching him explore a favorite toy, sharing a quiet moment together, or listening to his cheerful chatter as he greets you. He is a testament to resilience and love, ready to turn his new home into a place of comfort, laughter, and shared adventures. Are you ready to meet MYSTERY and welcome this affectionate, chatty Bombay into your life? Contact workinwhiskers.com to begin the journey with him today. MYSTERY is an DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / BOMBAY MIX. He is about 4 years and 10 months old. ABEL is good with cats. In his foster home, he was around other kittens, older cats, and a big dog. Story
Meet Navi 🐾 Navi is a 7-year-old American Shorthair who has been part of our family since she was just 3 months old. She’s always been our only pet, so she grew up getting lots of love, attention, and care. She’s a sweet, gentle, and kind cat who enjoys a calm environment. Unfortunately, since we recently had a baby, Navi has been feeling stressed and hasn’t adjusted well to the change. We’re looking for a loving new home for her where she can feel comfortable and relaxed again—ideally with no small children. She truly deserves a peaceful space where she can thrive and continue being the affectionate companion she is.
