Border Collie femaleStreak is a one-year old Border Collie.  She came into rescue with her momma dog and a sibling, but they will be adopted out separately.  Streak is around 35 pounds. All three, what can we say, Border Collies have a definite theme. Calm, sweet, loyal, smart and sweet (Said it twice for a reason!) Maybe occasionally there are exceptions, but these three fit the definition of a Border Collie. And they did have great breeding. It's obvious. Sweet, soft, looking to connect, each one has had her muzzle my face, searching. trying to forge a bond. Every border collie is ultimately looking for that bond with their human. Streak is good with all the other dogs. Beautiful with all people, and learning to walk on leash. Streak is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and chipped. Border Collie femaleMeet Moxie, a beautiful 10-12 month old border collie mix from Tulare Animal Services. She’s been on bed rest for the last 6 weeks due to a fractured pelvis prior to entering shelter. She’s been bunked up with our all-star veterinarian foster who says this border babe is ready fly as soon as she is spayed. She has an appointment on Monday, Nov 9. Here is what we know about Moxie: She is a super sweet, high energy girl. She sleeps in her crate at night but will let you know when she is ready to fly - early bird gets the worm mentality. She is great with the other dogs as long as they don't mind her in their face. She can be pushy but backs off when corrected. Usually, she just finds another dog to play with. Cats, critters, livestock unknown at this time. Initially, we presumed she’d need an FHO surgery once the bones fused. That is no longer recommended at this time. She runs, jumps, and plays like the rest of them and doesn’t appear to be in any pain. She’s got a slight hitch in her step but she’s all healed up and ready to bond with her forever people.
